Brainwave Entrainment What Is EFT and How Can It Help?

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

What is EFT?

Gary Craig (EFT founder) explains what EFT is better than I ever could. “EFT is a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simply stated, it is a unique version of acupuncture except you don’t use needles. Instead you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says…”The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.” And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true… “Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases.”

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a combination of psychotherapy and acupressure. It relies on the same meridians as uses in traditional acupressure and by combining a routing tapping with a positive affirmation voicing the emotion underlying the problem EFT is able to help with many different kinds of problems, both physical and emotional.

How does it work?

There are two different explanations as to how EFT works depending on whether you take the eastern or western medicines viewpoint.

Western medicine thinks that tapping these points produces a mini-REM state in our brain. This reorganizes how we store and process information. In support of this point of view EEG machines have shown that our brainwave patterns do respond to the tapping.

Eastern medicine believes that EFT works because a situation we faced in the past caused a disruption in our energy system. This disruption caused an unwanted effect on either our physical or mental well-being. By tapping on some of the main meridian points while thinking about the issue we clear the disruption therefore helping our problem.

How can it help me?

So, by now you’re probably thinking this all sounds great but how can it help you?

Scientifically, EFT has been proven to be effective with chronic pain, emotional problems, addictions, phobias, post traumatic stress disorder and physical issues.

EFT often works where nothing else has and can often produce results in minutes. Along with those cases where it has been proven to work EFT has also been shown to work in more serious cases such as cystic fibrosis and multiple sclerosis.

Does it last?

Once a problem has been cured with EFT then it is very unlikely to re-occur unless you encounter another situation to cause another disruption. This does not mean that you will be cured immediately, although results can usually be seen within minutes several sessions are usually needed to completely cure the problem.

What EFT isn’t?

Despite the very promising results seen by EFT practitioners EFT is not able to cure everything. It is merely a tool to help you regain balance in your life. It is this balance that can help to cure any physical or emotional problems you are facing.

EFT is not a replacement for adequate health care either through a qualified physician or psychiatrist. It is designed to be used alongside conventional medicine, not in place of it
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain? ?requency following?response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

This ?requency following?response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ?ntrain?to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ?ind-tripping? enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.

We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person? starting position, entrainment can be rather ?it and miss?

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you?e probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

As the weather turns warm, you may be tempted to enjoy a spring vacation with your lesbian partner. For couples in the Mid-Atlantic region, Virginia Beach is an ideal destination for lovers of sunshine and waves. The Oceanfront provides an attractive venue for sunbathing, volleyball, and surfing. Yet, Virginia Beach offers much more for the lesbian couple looking for fun and adventure.

What is there to see and enjoy in Hampton Roads? Plenty! Here are just a few suggestions for shaping a unique itinerary for your trip.

Eat Healthy – If you’re concerned about putting on vacation pounds (and it’s easy to do with so many seafood restaurants in town), take a trip to the Heritage at 314 Laskin Road. As the largest holistic and health food center, you’ll find an extensive selection of snacks and juices, ready made vegetarian meals, and raw foods to satisfy cravings. The adjacent bookstore is filled with spiritual books and music for your reading and listening pleasure, great if you need a book for the beach.

Go Cruisin’ – Ever see a dolphin up close in its natural habitat? The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center offers 90-minute dolphin watching excursions from April through October. It’s not unusual to see these playful sea creatures from the shore, but a cruise grants you personal face time with the bottlenose mammal. Truly an experience for the animal lover.

Get Spiritual – The Association for Research and Enlightenment, founded by Edgar Cayce in the 1930s, sits on a hill overlooking the ocean. Visitors can enjoy a free tour where they’ll learn about the life Cayce and his work with with transpersonal subjects like reincarnation, holistic health, and meditation. A meditation room on the third floor is open to the public, and provides a peaceful setting for relaxation and clearing your mind, while the courtyard by the old hospital is graced with a labyrinth. Slow down and enjoy an uplifting walk. If you’re feeling stressed, book a massage at their health spa and add some luxury to your vacation.

Enjoy the Nightlife – Two of the more popular gay-oriented bars in the area are the Rainbow Cactus Company (3472 Holland Rd.) and The Hershee Bar in Norfolk (6117 Sewells Point Rd.). While the Rainbow Cactus Company welcomes gays and lesbians (with Saturday designated as “lesbian night”), Hershee prides itself on being Hampton Roads’ premier women’s club. Both venues offer tempting late night menus, events like karaoke and live music, and plenty of room to dance and meet new friends.

For lesbian couples looking for a relaxing Spring Break that combines high sea adventure and meditative bliss, Virginia Beach is your ticket. Rent a room on the Oceanfront and wake up to a gorgeous sunrise reflecting on the water. The memories you and your partner create will last a lifetime.

Many of us do. Fat just seems to creep on you in your least favorite spot. Is there a favorite spot? Let’s be truthful have you ever said, “My fat landed just where I was hoping it would that is my favorite fat spot.” Didn’t think so, me neither.

Lets un-creep the fat. Let’s get that fat to crawl away in shame. We are funny we hate receding hairlines but receding waistlines Bravo!

Before you go on this adventure to get your skinny back you need some fortifications to take with you. No it is not food but it is good for you and has Zero calories.

What is the first component? You must yes, you must have an accountability person. This person must be:

1. A person who cares about you and gets you
2. They must not bend to your diatribes, your moods or any other such assaults.
3. They must have a sense of humor so they can cajole or tease you
alternately.

Choose this person with great thought and intuition. You will need this person to commit to be “Your Person” for, are you ready for this? 120 days. That is four months. That is how long it takes to break, start and create a new habit. So yes you need the person for that long. They can still do there day job at least part time. Just kidding. You are not their project you are their inspiration.

That is the other gear you need to pack, your courage. You will need to go grab it from whatever corner it is hiding in and jump into it. Really you are going to inspire and give hope to many so see if you can sit with yourself and get ready for this journey as if you were going overseas. You will be.

Do this- it is great for releasing fear:
Put on some Mozart or chanting music and then inhale in a whistle and exhale in a whistle. If you can’t whistle get lessons but for now make an “O” out of your mouth and Inhale slowly through the “O” and Exhale slowly the same way. It will calm the nerves.

Then try this Meditation for when you don’t know what to do. It very easy and very complicated.

Sit in easy sitting pose or with spine straight on a chair
Next rest both hands palms up in your lap, let the right hand hold the left with fingers pointing away from the body at angles, the right thumb crosses over the left thumb.

Breath: Inhale slowly through the mouth and exhale slowly through the mouth.
Inhale nose and exhale nose
Inhale mouth and exhale nose
Inhale Nose and exhale mouth then repeat for minimum 3 minutes 11 minutes being best.

Then contact me and let me know who your person is and what you have done with this meditation.

We are getting prepared for this journey. Are you coming?

Blessings

Brainwave Entrainment 5 Benefits of Meditation You Can Experience Today

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Men and women have been enjoying the benefits of meditation for a long, long time. It is of no surprise that those of us who meditate regularly enjoy healthier and more fulfilling lives than those who do not. Some try it once for 10 minutes and say it is no good. The key with meditation is not so much the time spent meditating, but more the consistency. Ten minutes every day is better than 20 minutes 3 times a week. And I would also state for maximum results, every day practice is essential. Is it really that difficult to find just 15 minutes a day? With a little motivation it can become as much of your daily routine as brushing your teeth.

There are different approaches to meditation and these in turn break down into sub categories. The essence of these varieties are essentially the same. The purpose is to raise our vibrational state and free ourselves from the trappings of the physical plain on which we live. What is raising our vibrational state? When we see a person’s brain activity being recorded we see these as waves, or brainwaves. They are frequencies. What we wish to achieve with meditation are higher frequencies. Every atom of your being is vibrating at a certain frequency. As we have the power of consciousness, we can use this to raise these vibrations. And it is very easy to do.

Lets take a look at 5 benefits for you to consider.

1. Scientific studies have shown meditation to increase the body’s serotonin production. Serotonin is responsible for our moods and some of our social behavior. Low levels of serotonin can manifest itself in a number of ways, the most prevalent of which is depression. It is also directly or indirectly linked to appetite, sleep, sexual desire and function, memory and learning ability and temperature regulation. If you have problems in any of these areas then it is fair to say anything that could increase your serotonin levels in a natural and healthy way has got to be worth a look.

2. There is no shortage of documented evidence of meditation reducing metabolic rates. The benefit here is that as a result, pressure on the heart is also reduced. The heart doesn’t have to pump has hard as circulation becomes improved. This is effectively a drop in cholesterol levels. Less cholesterol means less free radicals. Free radicals are unstable oxygen molecules that damage any cell within the body they come into contact with. So with less cell damage caused by free radicals, the aging process slows down! A great reason to meditate by itself.

3. Concentration ability increases. As we seen above, serotonin plays a part here. Our ability to focus can be somewhat hindered in our modern world, there are so many distractions. Meditating helps us regain our concentration by making us more alert to our environment and also sharpens our wits. We can learn new things with much more ease and better memory retention allows us to remember what we learn.

4. It is a cast iron scientific fact: We are all made of stars. Everything that makes up our world was created in a huge furnace just as it exploded, blasting all the known elements out into space. Some of these elements have coalesced to make up you. There is so much we don’t yet know about our Universe. We are living in exciting times because we are learning more and more at a fast pace. But we are undeniably made of it. There is a great ocean of consciousness in the ether and we have the ability to tap into it. The answers to all our questions are in the fabric of spacetime. Meditation can take you there.

5. It’s free, healthy and safe. You may wish to splash out on a mat, but that is entirely up to you.

So we have taken just a brief look at psychological, physical and spiritual benefits. Meditation is such a powerful tool, and all we really need to invest in it is our time. And I know just how precious our time is. By putting aside just 15 or 20 minutes a day for dedicated “me” time we can transform our entire lives. Every aspect, every little thing we do every single day, whether we love it or loathe it can be performed with less stress, more energy, more awareness and more understanding.

Personally, my life has improved 100 fold in the last four years since I began practicing. I know countless others who can say the same. Some of my family and friends thought I had lost it, ( some still do ) but those that are now converts know what all the fuss is about. There is no denying how things have got better for me so I guess they had to find out. But don’t take my word or anyone else’s word for it. Find out the benefits of meditation for yourself.

The Brain Naturally Entrains

Your mental state affects your brainwaves and your brainwaves affect your mental state.

The mind is actively transmitting and receiving waves, electro and electo-magnetic signals all the time. These waves are emitted at different frequencies depending upon your particular state of mind at the moment. You generate the spectrum of frequencies or brainwaves at all times, but depending on your state of mind, one frequency or another will be dominant.

The brainwave frequency spectrum includes delta wave (0.5 Hz – 4 Hz), theta wave (4 Hz – 8 Hz), alpha wave (8 Hz – 14 Hz), beta wave (15 Hz – 30 Hz), and gamma wave (between 20 Hz and 100 Hz), lowest frequency to highest in that order.

Through exposure to environment cues like sound or light, your brainwaves can be sped up or slowed down and shift into different states. Your brain will naturally attempt to duplicate or entrain to, a repeated, rhythmic external source.

This is what is called brainwave entrainment and happens to you, naturally, at every moment.

When certain rhythmic or pulsating sounds and/or lights are processed, parts of the brain show a tendency to move towards synchronisation with this stimulus. The neurons process the incoming sensory information and are naturally forced to fire at a rate that matches a pulsating sound or light in order to process the raw input from the ears into a form the brain can understand and use.

As this process is carried out, electrical signals are produced that match the frequency present in the stimulus altering your state of mind.

These cyclic signals then become added to those parts of the brainwave spectrum that are already naturally firing at this frequency, automatically strengthening them. Other parts of the brain detect this frequency pattern and entrain to it, further strengthening the effect.

A Repeatable and Controlled Process

The phenomona has been known in the scientific community for a long time, but recently, digital technology has made it a repeatable and controlled process that can be accessed by anyone with a mp3 player, computer, or i-pod. Digital brainwave entrainment is a powerful tool that can stimulate those parts of your brain that have been left dormant for a long time or never activated before.

No Special Training, Experience, or Practice Is Needed

The scientific principle of entrainment, where two cycles synchronize naturally with each other in order to work more efficiently, can be utilized to resonate, synchronize, or tune your brain to specific frequencies, at will, using specialize brainwave entrainment recordings.

Brainwave entrainment changes your brainwave frequency to achieve a desired state of mind.

Tinnitus strikes any type of person at any age, irregardless of healthy diet or active lifestyle. Far too often, those afflicted are at a loss for remedy, and suffer through ringing in their ears, echos and other annoying sounds. If you are looking for effective ways of dealing with the symptoms of tinnitus, read on.

Join a tinnitus support group. Tinnitus can be a very disturbing and disabling problem. It is important that you have support from people who also suffer from this condition. A support group can give you tips on how to deal with tinnitus, as well as on how to figure out what makes yours worse.

If you suffer from frequent ringing in the ears, be sure to speak with your doctor about the medications that you are taking. Many people do not realize that a variety of different medications can cause tinnitus. If your medication is the cause, you may want to consider switching medications.

Eat a healthy diet that is low in salt, MSG, caffeine, and highly processed foods. All of these foods have been linked to tinnitus. Make sure when you eat out that you question your server about how menu items are prepared. The foods you eat can have a power effect on your tinnitus symptoms.

If you have that constant ringing in your ear that is caused by tinnitus, it is important to see a physician to get a proper diagnosis. Tinnitus can be caused by a variety of sources such as head injuries, ear infections, loud noises, stress, vascular problems, and the side effects of medication. The treatment prescribed for tinnitus will be dependent upon what is causing the condition.

Reflexology is an amazing tool to treat the symptoms of tinnitus. Find yourself an accredited practitioner in your area and ask for references. Then choose the person who you trust and feel understands your problems the best. In only a few treatments you’ll notice that your symptoms will be reduced!

Tinnitus might not be what’s keeping you up at night, instead it could be stress which makes the noise more noticeable. Try to tie up as many loose ends as you can before you go to bed and then engage yourself in some relaxation techniques like meditation or deep breathing to clear your mind and calm your body.

If you are already suffering from tinnitus, it is mandatory that you take steps now to protect yourself from any further hearing damage. Stay away from loud noises, and wear hearing protection when you cannot avoid noisy environments. Always keep a supply of earplugs with you so that you can take action right away if you find yourself in a situation that could be potentially harmful to your hearing.

Use “white noise” to help manage tinnitus. If your doctor has looked for and ruled out treatable conditions, you can still minimize the sensation of ringing or whistling in your ears by using external masking sounds such as an electric fan or quiet music. White noise can also help you sleep better, which is good for your overall health.

Rule out various causes for your tinnitus. Some are very simple, such as tight muscles in your neck and shoulders. Visit a chiropractor for an evaluation. Jaw problems can also cause tinnitus, and a dentist can easily realign your jaw in some cases to remove the cause and relieve your tinnitus.

If you’re in a quiet room and tinnitus is rearing its ugly head, pretend it’s not really in your ears. Imagine that it’s actually a background noise, like the sea lapping outside your window. Imagine that it’s just external and it’s actually a beautiful sound that you enjoy greatly and you’ll find your agitation will go away.

Keep a diet diary with entries on what you eat, what you crave, and what exercise you engage in, and see if your tinnitus has any relation to any of those factors. Often food allergies can make tinnitus worse, or certain activities can aggravate the symptoms later on in the day.

When you start a new treatment for tinnitus you must give it a few weeks or even months before you judge whether it’s helping or not. Sometimes a treatment will work best in conjunction with another method, like diet change with acupuncture, so continue to test out different strategies until you find a combination which works for you.

Most people who experience tinnitus find hypnotherapy very helpful. It appears to work the best for those that suffer at night. Many indicate that they have seen several overall benefits to dealing with their tinnitus. You can get professional hypnotherapy for relief from your tinnitus symptoms.

Sometimes tinnitus is caused by fluid build up in the Eustachian tubes inside the ear. This causes pressure and can lead to tinnitus symptoms. Try doing slow neck exercises to help elevate the pressure. Slowly roll your head from front to side to back for a few minutes and see if this helps reduce the pressure and eliminate your symptoms.

Get your teeth fixed. Any dental problems can cause and worsen tinnitus. Pay close attention to making sure dentures are properly fitted if you wear them. You should also be evaluated for the potential presence of a temporomandibular joint disorder. Any of these things can have an adverse effect on tinnitus.

As was stated in the beginning of this article, millions of people throughout the world are affected by tinnitus. Not knowing what to do to manage tinnitus leads to frustration. If you put the advice you just learned to use, you might just be able to put tinnitus behind you.

35 Guidelines To Help You Develop Your Ability To Manage Stress

1. Planning your action – If immediate action is impossible, ask yourself if there is something that you can do about it in the future? Write an action plan with a script and goals. Be sure to put this on paper. Any effort to make the problem manageable is useful stress management. Once you take care of the part you can control, you’ll feel more in control overall.

2. Letting go – If you’ve exhausted your options in the situation, relax and let it go-you’ve done all you can. You can train yourself to tune out stressful thoughts. Remember that obsessing over the outcome of your efforts is a waste of energy. Learn to let things go.

3. Living at ease – Decide if you want to be contented and avoid being constantly on edge. It’s much easier let go of minor disappointments and even major setbacks. It’s about verifying how you want to move on with your life and not place major emphasis on the minors of life. It’s all about not sweating the small stuff. Set goals for yourself, but also hold that vision of yourself approaching life in peace, acceptance, and joy. Don’t major on the minors!

4. Learning when to let go – Every day, you face plenty of stress that you can’t do anything about-from loud noises outside your window to the state of the economy or the coffee spilled on your new shirt. While it’s frustrating to accept that you cannot always call the shots, raging against the inevitable can take its toll on your system-not to mention the people around you. If you find it impossible to go with the flow, look at the evidence and make a pragmatic choice: Ask yourself: “Do I want to keep trying to control things that I can’t control and let it break down my body or ruin my relationships? I going to let go of that and have a healthier, happier body and life?”

5. Keep hope alive – Shaking it off is not always the best option. Often our current situation is so stressful that we can become hopeless. Do what is necessary for you to keep hope alive when you may believe and feel and think otherwise. Pray, rest, get good counsel from trusted advisors-do, in short, whatever it takes to keep a healthy perspective. Many times we need just a good night’s sleep!

6. Take the Long Way home – Don’t race home from work. Stay in the slow lane and unwind a bit. Put some time between your office experience and the rest of your day. Pray, meditate, listen to soothing music, call the kids, whatever it takes to unwind and decompress before you get home.

7. Give yourself 15 minutes off – When you arrive home, the last thing you want to do is to dive into a new set of problems or challenges. Make an arrangement with your family and spouse that the first 15 minutes of you being at home is your downtime. Then, go to your cave, hot tub, garage, or wherever you can throw off your day and unwind.

8. Learn new time management skills – Find the most efficient ways to spend your time on the job and at home. Learning how to better manage your units of work and play time will make it easier for you confine your work problems to the office hours and create a separation between your family and home life from work and business.

9. Set goals for yourself – Understand what you want to accomplish to make your life worthwhile and meaningful to you. Plan your work and work your plan. Be intentional, methodical, and sequential in all that you do. “Fail to plan and plan to fail” as the experts say.

10. Don’t sweat the small stuff-Learn what’s really important in your life and keep other problems in perspective. Is it really worth the time and worry and stress to let an irate boss or an unrealistic deadline infringe on your personal or home life? This isn’t to say you should ignore that those problems-just deal with them at home or at work as appropriate. Don’t make the mistake of carrying over problems into the wrong venues.

11. Take time to relax – Take a deep breath and let go of tension after work. Read a book, watch a funny movie. Go for a quiet walk or choose whatever therapy works for you. Change of focus and you will soon find it stressful problems fade into the background.

12. Watch your diet and exercise – Proper nutrition and regular exercise, coupled with adequate rest, will help you manage your stress better than just about anything else.

13. Get good rest – go to bed early. Get up early. Get started early and you might find that things just run smoother, because you are well rested and no longer running behind and constantly anxious. Your world will be easier if you are well rested and have enough energy to work and cope with your home life at the end of the workday.

14. Identify the causes of stress – Closely identify and evaluate the causes of stress in order to manage your stress more effectively. It’s important to identify those things that are causing stress and find ways to minimize or eliminate them. Identify, access, and then be incremental in the addressing of your stress “triggers”.

15. Identify the negative effects of stress-Just as important as identifying the source of your stress is being able to identify the negative effects of stress on your body and life. Take inventory of how you are feeling. Do you have fatigue insomnia, headaches, back pain, nausea, worry, anxiety, fear, depression, irritability, increased eating, or other symptoms? If so, make note of them. Make a vow to reduce your stress as much as possible.

16. Practice the following anti-stress tips-Try deep breathing in a quiet place where you can close your eyes and breathe in and out slowly for a few minutes at a time. Try breathing in and out for a count of five seconds, and then do it for ten seconds. Start your day with nutritional breakfast. Avoid wearing tight, restrictive clothes and shoes; let your body breathe. Practice simple stretches several times per day. Take your breaks and enjoy them. Walk outside. Read something non-work-related.

17. Have a laugh-Look for the humor in stressful situations. Laughter relaxes muscles, lowers blood pressure, and eases mental tension. Researchers find that laughter can also reduce our levels of hormones and diminish stress responses that suppress immunity.

18. Communicate artfully– Although many people avoid conflicts, it’s better to express your feelings and openly discussing the situation. Don’t isolate yourself. Reach out to others in your environment. Take a few minutes to talk with someone in your workplace or home and to be willing to communicate first.

19. Make realistic plans-Think ahead and adjust your plans and try to avoid triggers of stress such as overbooking your day, too closely booking appointments, and generally maintaining a crazy schedule.

21. Get a miracle massage-Ask a friend or spouse or hire someone. Massage slows down the heart rate and relaxes the body. Massage actually increases alertness and well being. Treat yourself. You may find that you are even relaxed prior to the massage because just the anticipation of getting the massage can be soothing.

22. Count to 10 -It’s good to acknowledge your anger. But, cool down before you yell, rant, or rave. Venting your anger impulsively or keeping it inside increases stress and all of the physical symptoms that can lead to illness and early death.

23. Enlist the help of your friends -Friends can be good medicine. Daily conversation, regular social engagements, and occasional sharing of our thoughts and feelings can reduce stress quite nicely. Your friends are there for you, talking to them helps them de-stress too.

24. Accept that nobody’s perfect-Don’t demand absolute perfection of yourself or others. Set realistic and attainable goals. While there are some areas in your life that you’ll always want to keep to high standards, it’s a fact of life that sometimes we miss the mark.

25. Don’t procrastinate -Loose ends whether with family, friends, or at work can cause stress. Make a list of the things you have to do. If the list is too long; prioritize tasks that are most important. See if there’s anything on the list that can be dropped or delegated.

27. Make sure your values are in syncopation with your lifestyle-If your values are out of sync with your lifestyle, you may experience greater internal stress. A firm understanding of your own values-what is most important to you, lets you set priorities and manage time more effectively.

28. Avoid stress-Promoting ways of thought and speech-identify the ways in which you think yourself into higher stress levels, including catastrophic thinking, over generalizing, dichotomous thinking, and perfectionist thinking. Find ways to manage yourself out of these mental ruts.

29. Avoid big changes-whenever possible– Avoid having too many big life changes come in at the same time. In other words, is your daughter getting married at the same time that you planned to sell your house? Are you vying for a big promotion at work while caring for Special Needs child or adult? See if you can apply better scheduling tactics to lessen some of the demands on your time and comfort level. This foresight can save you lots of angst, stress, and anxiety.

30. Work on your marriage, friendships, and spirituality-Studies show that people who are satisfied with their marriages, friendships, and spiritual feelings are better at coping with stress and live more fulfilling lives. Research shows married people have a plethora of mental and emotional benefits including the ability of dealing with stress.

31. Eat three to six small, balanced meals per day.-You’re much more volatile to stress when you’re hungry and lethargic than when you’re well-nourished. Take nourishment and be well supplied in mind, body, and soul.

32. Decrease or discontinue the use of alcohol and caffeine-.Drinking these substances to relieve stress often works in reverse. Turning to alcohol to reduce stress, actually increases the amount of stress on the system.

33. Use your imagination-The mind’s ability to dream, visualize, and imagine is a very powerful stress reduction tool. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and imagine situations as you want them to be. See the positive outcomes in your mind, athlete’s use this power of imagination to picture themselves doing a routine perfectly before the competition begins. It works for reducing stress and living more pleasantly, too.

34. Learn to simplify your life and prioritize-We cannot do everything at once. Let go of some of the things that you tell yourself you must do. There are some tasks that do not really belong to you and others you need to learn to say “no” to. You can learn to prevent stress rather than just fight it by simplifying your life.

35. Get to know God-Really dig in and get to know what it means to have faith and trust in God and his plan for you. Become more of a God-oriented person and find out what it means to really let go, trust, and live in true mental peace.

Brainwave Entrainment Binaural Beats – This Technology Will Shift Your Consciousness and Change Every Aspect of Your Life!

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Meditation is a means of relaxation which was practiced for hundreds of years in countless countries all over the globe. Millions have enjoyed the tremendous influences that meditation has on the body, mind and spirit. While It can be extremely tough to rest the thought process and silence the mind from making consistent racket, countless have been victorious with the practice of meditation, and have discovered its life transforming effects.

However, most of us are so conditioned to be constantly on the go that it can be quite difficult to simply silence the physical self and to unwind mentally. To assist this process, binaural beats are found to be extremely efficient as they can alter the brainwaves to function at a level that is more indicative to the meditation process.

Most people may definitely wonder what binaural beats meditation is all about. Well, it was discovered by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove early 19th century that if more than one tone is played with slightly varied frequencies, and then listened to on a stereo headset, the listener perceives it as a pulsating beat.

For the sounds to be heard the two tones should have a difference no greater than thirty hertz. Any greater differentiation will mean that the sounds will be heard independently and will not be perceived as a beat.

These types of sounds, sounds perceived as beats, have a considerable impact on the mind and have been known to aid people in dealing with many issues they face on a regular basis. These types of tones are known to be life changing because on their powerful impact on ones consciousness.

The alpha state is most favorable to meditation and is easy to achieve when using binaural tones. The two different tones or wavelengths are played on their own, one directed into the left ear, one directly into the right ear. The brain receives the sounds and creates a third, different tone.

Your brain flows from the everyday beta state to alpha when listening to binaural beats. In alpha, a person can gain a increased state of relaxation and deep thought. When the alpha state has been reached the person can move on to the theta state, which is a greater level of calm and peacefulness.

The frequency creates a transfer in consciousness, making it simpler for the mind to achieve a trance like state. The individual can use this induced mental state for rest, stress relief and as a way to achieve a more enlightened state. They can also use this state for major transformation. Within this state we can concentrate on problems that call for clarification and healing. This type of therapeutic relaxation will transform our bodies and minds in a powerful way.

Insomnia or lack of quality sleep is divided into three categories based mainly on the duration of the problem – transient, intermittent and chronic. Transient and intermittent are temporary conditions and most of the times, correct themselves with minimal informed effort. Alteration of life style habits that cause the problem should suffice. There are quite a few OTC drugs, mostly sedative antihistamines that are useful.

Treating chronic insomnia is very complex. The underlying physical and psychological health disorders have to be identified and treated with appropriate drugs or psychiatric care. The ingestion of alcohol, caffeine and nicotine has to be modified or stopped. The behavior patterns like irregular bedtime can be regulated. Medically supervised drug therapy has to be followed during the treatment.

Relaxation therapy, which uses specific techniques of yoga and different types of meditations are quite useful. Music and aromatherapy can also be used. The idea is to calm the hyperactive, racing mind and relax the muscles. Recondition therapy, in which the insomniac lies down on the bed only when he feels sleepy can also be effective. Other activities like reading, watching TV, or telephoning in bed are banned. If unable to fall asleep, the patient has to get up and engage in something else until he feels sleepy. Lying in bed is used as stimuli and conditions the patient to fall asleep. Sleep restriction therapy, involves allowing the person only a short time in bed. If he manages to sleep during this short time, the time in bed is gradually increased to normal sleeping hours. Some insomnia sufferers may not actually be sleeping less than they need but their perception of the length and quality of sleep needs correction. Counseling about sleep patterns or cognitive behavioral therapy in combination with other therapies makes it a multifaceted treatment of insomnia.

Foods that contain the protein tryptophan that promotes sleep are milk, turkey, bananas, figs, dates and tuna. Avoid foods containing tyramine, which stimulates the brain. Mild aerobics exercises like walking in the evening induces sleep. Sedentary life and insomnia go together. Avoid strenuous exercise prior to bedtime. When the body and mind are relaxed sleep takes over and refreshes the body and mind.

It is a well known fact that most people end up gaining back any weight they lose during a “diet” and often more besides. Research has shown that only approximately 20 per cent of overweight people successfully manage to sustain their weight loss over a period of time. So it makes good sense to try losing weight naturally rather than going for the latest “quick fix” diet trend if you want to keep off the weight in the long-term.

A good approach to losing weight naturally is to think of weight loss as a by-product of making important health choices rather than it being your primary goal, as you are then on your way to addressing the underlying causes of weight gain and not just the symptoms.

There are three things that you need to do to modify your lifestyle to make it more healthy and enable you to lose weight naturally – you need to eat healthy food, reduce stress and do more exercise.

How to eat healthily.

Choose whole fresh foods as much as possible, rather than processed food products. Keep this thought in mind: “If your great grandmother would not recognise it – it is perhaps better not to eat it!” The greater the amount of whole and unmodified food you eat, the more healthy and satisfying your diet will be.

You also need to cut down your portion sizes. Most of us eat far more than we really need, so try substituting quality for quantity. You will find that by choosing whole foods, you will need to eat less to feel satisfied. Vegetables should make up the largest part of your diet. Vegetables are low in carbohydrates and also full of antioxidants which can have a powerful effect on the free radicals in our bodies. Try and include as many different colours and varieties of fruit and vegetables in your diet as possible.

Make sure you stay hydrated by drinking enough water. This will help with digestion, absorption, circulation and waste excretion, so it is very important for optimum weight loss. It will also stop you from getting fatigued, so you will have more energy to stick with your exercise routine.

Why you need to cut the stress.

Stress and weight gain are very closely related. Stress can cause your adrenal glands to release cortisol and adrenaline into your bloodstream, which in turn can cause the body to store fat. Also if you are feeling stressed you are more likely to comfort eat.

To help reduce stress levels, you could try walking, meditation, yoga, tai chi, music, relaxing in the bath or breathing exercises.

Increase Your fitness levels.

In order to burn off calories you need to do more exercise. You also need to exercise to keep your heart and other organs healthy as well as toning up your muscles and generally keeping your body in good working order. For many overweight people, starting an exercise program can be pretty daunting, but by starting off slowly, you can gradually build it up. Start off by walking, 15 minutes a day could improve your healthy significantly. Gradually increase the time and the pace you walk at or use a pedometer and slowly build up so that eventually you are walking up to 10,000 steps a day. Swimming is also a good beginner exercise as your weight is supported by the water so it takes the strain off your joints. Try and incorporate some sort of physical activity into your daily life, either on your own or with a friend and try to find something that you enjoy doing so that it does not become a chore.

By losing weight naturally and introducing long-term and lasting changes to your lifestyle instead of just unsustainable ones, you may lose weight more slowly, but the more gradual the weight loss the more likely that the weight will stay off for good.
