Millions of people fall into the category of emotional eating. Emotional eating is also a major cause of obesity. Emotional eating can be called a psychological disorder, as it does not satisfy hunger.

Food is a vital source of energy and nourishment. It is not possible to perform daily activities without food and not a single organ can perform its function without food. Nevertheless, it also performs some other roles in our lives – a role of entertainment and comfort. We prepare food whole-heartedly and serve to show love or friendship or to celebrate joy.

What is emotional eating?

Emotional eaters see food not as a source of energy but they eat simply because they want to divert their mind from any sad feelings or stress. Emotional eating is considered to be on the same addiction level as drugs, alcohol and cigarette smoking often causing a spiraling depression.

How can you tell if you are an emotional eater? Do you indulge in eating other than satisfying your hunger? Are you full of thoughts about food? I am not talking about getting excited over an occasional treat or a simple craving. We all have cravings and when hungry we will all focus our thoughts on food. I am specifically speaking of thoughts of food that literally take over thoughts of everything else. Thoughts of food that totally consume you. If you answered yes to all these questions, it means that you are an emotional eater.

How can you overcome emotional eating? Emotional eating resulting in obesity will often overwhelm your conscience and make you feel more depressed. Many will often submit to purging their food, in order to keep their weight low. Not only does purging cause short term distress on your body, there is often long term physical and psychological damage that may take years to repair.

Although emotional eating is often best dealt with by a professional, there are a few tips that you can try on your own.

Try to get to know yourself. I know that this sounds very simplistic but many people often don’t know themselves as well as they think that they do. Take a pad and a pen and write down all of your good traits. Now list any accomplishments that you have had in your life, however small they might be. Beneath that, list people that depend on you. After reading your list over you should start to see that you have some really qualities and that by over eating you may jeopardize these. If by chance you list is rather small don’t get discouraged, it just means that you are not giving yourself enough credit for what you do best. Try letting a trusting spouse, friend or partner complete your list. They will more than likely be able to fill several sheets.
Divert your mind. If you are stressed or tensed, you should try to divert your mind away from food. If you are not hungry, you can divert your mind in reading books, listening to music or doing your favorite activity. Try to meditate and think about your most relaxing place in the world. The beach, a pool, the top of a mountain, you get the idea. This will take your mind away for a few minutes and when you return, there is a good chance that your mind will turn to other things besides food.
Get something to do with your hands. Put together models, learn to knit, play solitaire, read that book that you have been putting off for ions, go for a walk.
Increase your water intake. Drink a glass of water 10 minutes before you give in to your desires to eat while emotionally charged. This will help you in two distinct ways. First it will fill you up a bit so if you do give in to your urges, you will naturally eat less and many times you will find that the few minutes that you concentrate on your glass of water, your thoughts drift away from food. Have you ever noticed that often when there is an emergency you will hear someone say “sit “, then they give them a glass of water? It’s not that the actual glass of water will do anything for them, but for the few seconds that they are drinking the water, their mind gets diverted and it gives their body a time to relax a bit.
Emotional eating is a very hard habit to break but you can work on it little by little until it is manageable. If you feel as though you are totally out of control please consult a professional. There are many groups that can help and most are either free or have just a nominal charge or donation.

A good place to check is with your state health department or if you have health insurance contact your health insurance company. Emotional eating is hard to break on your own and there are many whom are willing to help you overcome it.

A phrase from the William Blake poem has been used by Aldous Huxley in his book, “the doors of perception”. The phrase goes like this-

“If the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things through narrow chinks of his cavern.”

On the basis of this phrase, Huxley says that general or ordinary consciousness of our mind is just a fraction of our mind’s capacity. He believes that the brain must act as a reducing valve allowing the infinite thoughts, sights, sounds and sensations.

On comparing brain and mind, we can say that the brain is the body while the mind is its spirit. The human mind has no physical boundaries. It can be expanded till infinity. There are so many things which are unexplored by the human mind. We are still unaware of that unexplored part but it can help us to develop unlimited power within us.

It is very important to expand our mind for this unexplored power. However, it should be noted that when we set on for mind expansion, both positive and negative thoughts would attract towards this. We only have to welcome all the positive thoughts and energies neglecting the negative one.

To ensure that one has only positive power and positive influence around you, you can take help of Shuzi products. These products are designed using Nano technology which creates such a field around you which only attracts all the positivity in the world.

Our brain has extreme potential and we just need to explore it more and more. There are several ways of mind expansion. One and the best of them is the music.

There are different type of relaxation music which helps in soothing your mind by bringing it into a state of total relaxation. This way you can get off from all the thoughts, worries and tensions. Listening to the meditation music will help you surrender all the tensions and enter into a state of positivity.

The theta frequencies of deep meditation music take you to a state of expanded awareness where you receive the best only. The center of your consciousness is awakened and your mind received fresh ideas and new insights. All the hidden information, answers and ideas are revealed gradually.

Besides music, there can be some other activities which can help stimulate your consciousness and lead to mind expansion. These can be reading books, writing, solving puzzles, mathematics, painting, cooking, music poetry, language learning, etc.

Once we will start practicing this, coming out of our comfort zones, we will push ourselves towards improving. This improvement brings in new experiences, knowledge and ideas.

Living with a depressed spouse can be extremely stressful for the partner and other family members. Communication is impacted, the couple’s social life suffers, and feelings of satisfaction with the marriage decrease.

Here are fifteen ways to cope and keep your sanity and bearings when your spouse is depressed:

1. Know what you’re dealing with. Don’t just guess and speculate that your spouse may be depressed. Encourage him or her to have a comprehensive assessment to determine if depression is actually present, what the severity is, and the recommended treatment plan.

If medication is prescribed, know that your spouse will increase his (or her) chances for successful treatment if he also participates in weekly counseling sessions.

2. Educate yourself about depression. Schedule a time to meet with your spouse’s doctor or therapist to learn more about depression and how you can best be supportive of your mate. Read books, magazine articles, and information available on the Internet about depression.

3. Expand and strengthen your individual network of support from family and friends. You’re going to need on-going support and encouragement, so resist the urge to try to carry the burden of your mate’s depression silently on your shoulders by yourself.

Let your family and friends know how they can help you and let them know what challenges you are facing. The worst thing you can do is to isolate yourself from others.

4. Research support groups that are available in your community and on-line. Some communities will offer in-person support groups for depressed individuals as well as for their spouses and friends. If no such groups exist where you live, check out the on-line support groups that are available for you and your depressed partner.
One group, The Depression and Bi-Polar Support Alliance (DBSA), sponsors numerous in-person meetings and also provides an on-line support group for people with depression or bipolar disorder, as well as separate groups for friends and family members. You can check out their offerings at:

http://www.dbsalliance.org/info/OnlineSupport.html

You can also find information and resources at Emotions Anonymous:

http://www.emotionsanonymous.org/

Your spouse can find on-line support through Depressed Anonymous:

Welcome to Depressed Anonymous

5. Educate your children about depression so that they can better understand your spouse’s behavior. Ask a librarian at your community library or your children’s school for help in selecting appropriate books on depression and chronic parent illness.

If you’re not sure what to tell them, consult with your children’s physician and enlist his or her help or arrange for your children to talk to a counselor who can help them process their feelings.

6. Take the team approach toward managing your mate’s depression and say, “We’re in this together–we’re a team!”

You want your spouse to feel the energy and power of team support. Think in terms of “We’ll figure out what to do” instead of “You need to figure out what to do.”

7. Learn to de-personalize your spouse’s behavior. Remind yourself that your mate is ill–and that’s different from being stubborn for the sake of being stubborn or deliberately trying to make your life difficult.

Try to remember that your mate’s perception, attitude, actions, patience, and stamina are being impacted in major ways by the depression. When people are depressed, they often blame everyone else for their problems and see only the negatives in daily life. This is about the depression–not about you.

8. Work on developing more patience. Depression is trying for everyone closely associated with the depressed individual and can cause even normally sedate partners to become frustrated, agitated, and angry.

It takes time for the treatment to be effective and for significant changes to be maintained. You can protest all you want, but you’ll just make yourself more miserable until you accept that Life is presenting you with an opportunity to develop patience. The sooner you master this lesson, the less you’ll suffer.

9. Encourage your spouse to get some exercise each day. You might take a walk together or go to the gym together. You could exercise to a video at home or put on some music and dance. Anything that gets your mate moving and encourages him (or her) to stay physically active will be helpful.

10. Don’t try to talk your spouse out of his (or her) feelings. Trying to argue with him or convince him that he’s wrong for feeling that way won’t work. You’ll just make him more resistant.

When people are depressed, they often say irrational things, such as “I can’t ever do anything right” or “No one cares about me.” Acknowledge your mate’s feelings and say something like, “I’m sorry you’re feeling so bad. What might we do to help you feel better right now?”

11. Take good care of yourself in every way–physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. You can’t afford to lose yourself and become consumed by your mate’s depression.

It’s very challenging to be around negative, pessimistic, depressive energy without starting to feel the same way. The only antidote is to stay balanced and centered by practicing good self-care behavior and doing things to nurture yourself.

Eat right, exercise, get enough sleep, stay in close contact with your friends, participate in activities that bring you pleasure, and keep your spiritual connection strong. Take time for yourself so that you can read, listen to music, meditate, and pray.

12. Laugh every day. Watch funny movies, share funny jokes, and look for the humor in the various situations in your life. Laughter can help you to feel better and keep the negative effects of depression at bay.

Enlist the help of your friends to provide you with funny stories and jokes that come their way through email or office talk. Try to find things to share things about your day that will make your spouse laugh. But even if he (or she) doesn’t laugh, you’ll feel better!

13. Read inspirational books or listen to inspirational audios or music that energizes and inspires you. Surround yourself with resources–books, CD’s, pictures–that make you feel better and “feed yourself” with inspiration and positive thinking and positive feelings every day.

14. Resist the urge to try to “fix” your spouse’s depression. You’ll only frustrate yourself and your mate. There’s no one thing you can do to take the depression away by yourself and to make everything better.

The fact that your spouse is depressed doesn’t mean that you have failed in any way as a partner. You’re not responsible for the depression and you can’t fix it. You can, however, be supportive and encouraging and follow the recommendations your mate’s doctor and/or therapist may make.

15. Get professional help for yourself if your feelings become overwhelming. It’s normal to feel resentful and angry that your personal life and family life are being so radically impacted by your mate’s depression.

You may feel that the person you once knew is now gone and that you don’t know who this depressed person is anymore. You may feel discouraged and despondent if time goes by and things aren’t significantly better.

Caregiving and being the main one to keep everything going can be exhausting and overwhelming. Don’t wait until you feel that you can’t continue any longer. Make an appointment for individual counseling before you “hit the wall.”

In most cases, depression can be effectively treated–80% of depressed patients improve with treatment. But the process of recovery can be lengthy, so it’s important to take steps to ensure that you’ll stay emotionally healthy while your spouse is recovering.

A parent was concerned about her recurring summer problem with her teenager. “I practically never see them from June to September! They refuse to come to dinner, never speak to us and they have wasted every summer since turning 13 with their friends; playing video games (doing who knows what else) and going to sleep when I am getting ready to go to work at seven in the morning! No amount of discussion will get them to change their ways.”

Just the Facts, Ma’am: Researchers have recently discovered that while most adults melatonin levels (which help us fall asleep) start to be produced at 10 p.m., teenagers tend to begin producing the hormone at around 1 a.m. How much of this time difference is due to changing hormones and how much is due to the disruptive effect from the lights of computer monitors and TVs over-stimulating their minds? While the melatonin issue makes a good case for later start times in high school classes, it does not justify going to bed at seven in the morning.

Crisp or Mooshy. A teenage client of mine calls it the cereal effect. The less he would do during the summer, the more soggy his brain became, making his September brain mooshy. The more he engaged in stimulating summer activities, the more “crisp” his brain was when he hit the school season.

10 Ways to a Crisp September Brain:

1. Three days a week (at around noon) some sports; weights, tai chi, ball hockey, etc.

2. One day a week – (same time) a creative class; music; comedy class; writing; etc. (plus 15 minutes a day of unmonitored practice).

3. One day a week – personal power class; public speaking; sales technique etc.

4. One dinner a week – The teenager is in charge. They choose the meal and cook it as well. Help is welcomed but the teen is in charge. Same evening each week.

5. One topic a week – The teenager chooses the dinnertime discussion; any world event, idea or philosophy that interests them.

6. Weekends off! No time constraints from Friday night to Monday morning.

7. Space is the final frontier. Give them some.

8. Trips – they’re great! But give them one day off for every three days spent as a family.

9. Ten minutes a day, five days a week, some sort of mindful meditation.

10. Rethink the pod. Have them choose ways to change the look of their room that reflects the best of their positive interests.

You will end up with a teenager waking up around 11 a.m., five days a week, which, as most of you know, is pretty good for the summer.

One More Thing: Giving people the time to discover their own interests and to pursue them for self-growth is an opportunity that few people take the time to do “until they retire.” The best inspiration you can be to your teenager is to go after something that is personally rewarding for yourself. The more challenging, the better… and let them see you sweat. Have a great summer!

One can improve the quality of sleep for healthy living by a set of simple actions such as Gyan Mudra, EFT and meditation. We discussed in our blog that meditation is not a substitute for adequate sleep. Based on our interaction with many people, there is a strong need for improving the quality of sleep. This is clear because people don’t feel adequately refreshed even after a long seep.

I am of the opinion one can improve the quality of sleep for healthy living by a set of simple actions as follows:

Sleep around the same time, with the band not exceeding 30 minutes. That is, if you usually retire to bed at 10.30 p.m., it is desirable that you go to bed not earlier than 10.00 p.m. and not later than 11.00 pm.
Have a short walk after dinner. This suggestion is based on the feedback of many people.
Do not watch TV in the last one hour before you go to sleep. This is because the news and many programs are made sensational in TV channels, which will definitely have an impact on your subconscious mind.
Read a light and inspirational book for 15 to 30 minutes before retiring to bed.
Do the daily introspection for 30 days. More about it later.
Meditate for at least 10 minutes.
Do tapping (EFT) for about 3 minutes at bed. We will discuss this soon.
Keep soft music or chants you like most. Choosing the music you enjoy takes you into a trance.
Keep your hands in Gyan Mudra, as you lie down on your bed. We have got very good feedback on this from many people.
Recall pleasant things and events. Everyone encounters good and bad things. When you recall pleasant things, you not only improve the quality of your sleep but also the recurrence of such pleasant things and events.

It is possible many of you may know a few other tools to improve quality of sleep. Kindly share those. By improving the quality of our sleep, we will improve our productivity, confidence, relationships and life harmony.

The science of hypnosis may not be exact, but it does require a certain level of skill and learning for someone to be able to practice it. Approved curriculums and published works about hypnosis are available, especially for people who want to make a career out of it. But for those who only want to experience the power of meditation or to accomplish self-medication, the internet is a valuable resource. There are a lot of websites available wherein you can download hypnosis articles, music, videos, and other related materials.

Putting it in writing

Though there are a lot of hypnosis articles that you can download, most of them serve their purpose in the academic level. The history and scientific evidence of hypnosis are the most common topics that are written in the said field of study. Also, newsletters are distributed by larger sites so that their users can be updated by breakthroughs or newly discovered techniques.

However, some sites offer downloadable hypnosis scripts that are used by professional hypnotherapists in their sessions. These scripts cover a range of topics, from the usual How to Stop Smoking types to very specific ones like strange and rare phobias. Also, daily worksheets can be obtained by those who are following a strict hypnosis exercise that requires follow-ups and detailed recording of events.

Easy listening

Perhaps the most popular hypnosis download would be audio files. Since music usually accompanies the practice of meditation, which is a big aspect of hypnosis, then it is not surprising that music makes up the bulk of online materials related to hypnosis. From tunes that imitate the relaxing sound of gentle waves to stress-free combinations that are suited for work hours, you can be assured that you will find a piece that will suit your needs.

However, music is not the only kind of audio hypnosis download. Crash courses in hypnosis, usually lasting only for days, are accessible for those who want to be introduced in this type of medication and relaxation technique.

Get the bigger picture

Aside from music, the other multimedia approach of hypnosis that is available for download would be videos. Usually, these videos are instructional in nature. For instance, a presentation on how to best overcome stress can be purchased online, either in its DVD form or straight to your media player.

Also, these training videos can be used as instructional material by students of hypnosis. Through this innovation, sessions can be observed anytime and important details can be noted in the course of their study.

Brainwave Entrainment The Easiest Meditation Method to Use is Binaural Meditation

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Have you heard that meditation has all sorts of psychological and physiological benefits and been wanting to try it? Now you find that there are a number of meditation methods but they all require attending classes and need a lot of practice to become effective. Binaural meditation makes all of this a lot quicker and easier.

All of the meditation methods have a single objective and that is to put the mind and body in a highly relaxed state. When you start your daily activities, the high frequency beta brainwaves dominates. This is a state of high alertness and task management and execution. Meditation is to bring brainwave frequencies down into the slower alpha and theta zones. These are the ranges of mind and body relaxation. They are also the states where the subconscious mind can be entered and positive changes implemented.

When you are trying one of the popular meditation methods, you have to be able to maintain a high degree of mind control. This is necessary because you are trying to focus, concentrate, and relax to reach the desired objective of the lower brainwave frequency ranges. This is the part that takes practice.

While you are meditating, there is a continuous battle going on in your mind between trying to lower brainwave frequency and the “mind chatter” of your daily thoughts and problems. You can win this battle with practice but binaural meditation makes it much easier.

A binaural beats download actually helps the brainwave frequencies slow down. It’s like giving a boost to the meditation process. All you have to do is put on a set of stereo headphones and relax. The binaural beats will do the rest.

Meditating on a regular and daily process is hugely beneficial in a broad range of areas. Everyone is capable of being able to meditate effectively and it isn’t necessary to attend classes and trying to learn how to meditate like a monk. Binaural meditation is easy to learn, has immediate benefits, is readily available, and is inexpensive.
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain? ?requency following?response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

This ?requency following?response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ?ntrain?to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ?ind-tripping? enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.

We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person? starting position, entrainment can be rather ?it and miss?

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you?e probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

We have all had it, nights where as much as you toss and turn you just can not sleep! You lay there unable to get properly comfortable getting more and more frustrated at yourself for being unable to get to sleep. There are many ways to improve your chances of getting a good night sleep, and without dangerous prescription medications.

Research has suggested that people get a much better night sleep if they go to bed at a decent time. It is thought that if you go to bed before 10pm each night, your chances of falling into a deeper more peaceful night sleep are much higher.
However this is not always the best case for you, if you are still wide awake and stimulated at 10pm (say for instance you have just gotten in from work or from some other activity) then you are much better waiting until you have properly wound down.

If you are not tired then you will not ever get a decent night sleep, as a general rule if you are not asleep within 30 minutes then you should get up, read a book or something relaxing for 10 minutes and then try again. The more you lie there making an effort to fall asleep, the harder you will find it to doze off.

The way you go about you day to day life can have a big effect on your sleeping patterns particularly what you have eaten. Having a big dinner late at night can make it harder for you to sleep, it is suggest you have a large breakfast, medium lunch and smaller dinner will help you to get a much better night sleep.

Meditation is also highly recommended for sleep problems. Mediating for around 15 minutes before you to bed can help. This is because it helps your body and mind relax fully so that you can fall into a deeper sleep more easily

Try not to try too much in the evening. Of course we all know that the more you drink the more you will need to visit the toilet. The middle of the night is no exception to this. Of course the more you wake up in the night for the toilet, the more disturbed your sleep will be and the higher chance you have of not being able to fall back asleep.

A lot of people who suffer with insomnia find that the more they worry about the lack of sleep the harder they find it to drop off. Many find that calm music played at a low volume in the bedroom can help keep their mind occupied enough that they don’t think about lack of sleep.

Regular exercise as we all know is good for us in so many ways. Helping with good sleeping patterns is one of the benefits. The more exercise we do, the more our bodies will be tired and therefore the more sleep our body will need, and the easier you will find it to drift off into a nice peaceful, undisturbed sleep.

Brainwave Entrainment How to Fall Asleep – Use Relaxation Techniques to Beat Insomnia

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Lying in bed not knowing how to fall asleep can be one of the most frustrating experiences you ever have to go through. Insomniacs know the endless cycle of tossing and turning, staring at the clock and worrying about rest that only makes things worse.

One of the most effective ways to beat it is to develop a relaxation technique or even better, a series of them. They will help to prepare your body for dropping off, and help alleviate the problem thoughts that race through your head.

One of the best forms is progressive muscle relaxation. Lie down on your back and concentrate fully on your body. Be as disciplined as you can, try not to let thoughts of any other kind in. Ignore any anxiety or stress. It’s really important to be as focused as you can.

The first few times when you try and clear your mind may be difficult. Keep practicing, if you develop this skill than any form of meditation will be so much easier.

Now think about the muscles in your toes and feet. Tighten them as hard as you can. Focus on nothing but those areas of you r body. Hold for a few seconds, and relax. Then move to the next body part. Concentrate on your calf muscles and repeat the process.

Work your way up your entire body until you’ve tensed and relaxed each muscle group in turn. If you’ve managed to maintain your discipline your entire body should feel a lot more relaxed. If it doesn’t feel like you’re quite there you can repeat the process.

This technique will work best if there are no other distractions in the room particularly of the aural kind, as your eyes will be closed and other senses shouldn’t be activated. This means no TV or radio. Music can help or be a hindrance depending on its mood. Lyrics or a strong melody give your brain something to latch onto and should be avoided.

You can optimize both the relaxation effort and sleep by using brainwave entrainment sounds. These scientifically developed rhythms effectively train your brain to enter its relaxed sleep mode. Best of all they will help and yet be drug free so that when you do wake up, you don’t feel like you have a hangover, an al to common side effect of sleeping medication. Have a look at the links below.

The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

meditation music Binaural Beats – Music For Meditation and Relaxation

Meditation music is music performed to aid in the practice of meditation. It can have a specific religious content, but also more recently has been associated with modern composers who use meditation techniques in their process of composition, or who compose such music with no particular religious group as a focus.

Binaural beats has been around for a long time, over 170 years to be exact. It was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove, but it never really took off. But in 1973 Gerald Oster published an article called “Auditory Beats in the Brain” in Scientific American. This opened the door for more scientific research on how frequencies can stimulate the brain to help with stress, anxiety, and all kinds of illnesses. With scientific research, it’s been known for a while now that certain frequencies will induce a desired state of mind. Bellow is a chart to help explain what frequencies will cause a desired state of mind.

Delta 1-3 Hz Deep sleep, lucid dreaming, increased immune functions

Theta 4-7 Hz Deep relaxation, meditation, increased memory, focus

Alpha 8-13Hz Light relaxation, learning, positive thinking

Beta 13-25 Hz Normal state of alertness, stress, anxiety

To help you understand how the above chart works, I will try to explain in plain simple English. Binaural beats uses two separate frequencies one in each ear. Hz in the above chart is the desired frequencies, or frequency = Hz. If you wanted to be in a meditation state you would want 4-7 Hz frequency, so you ask yourself how do I get this frequency? Well binaural beats has two separate frequencies one in each ear, so for an example if you want to tune your brain to a 7 Hz frequency, you could play 50 Hz in one ear, and 57 Hz in the other ear, then the brain will compensate for the difference between the two, which will create a third tone which is 7 Hz, in other word 50 minus 57 is 7. These beats are set to soft relaxing music, because human hearing can not hear frequencies that low, but the music is scientifically made to help you with what ever problems you may face like trouble sleeping, stress, anxiety, etc.

In conclusion, this music can be very relaxing, so to get the best results you need to find a quiet place with no distractions, and it is very important to use headphones, because you need to really concentrate. Don’t be alarmed if it don’t work the first time, because we are all wired differently, it may take a few times to really take effect. So find a quiet place and give yourself some alone time and enjoy. If you have any questions on binaural beats, on how it works, or if there are any side effects, see resource box.
