Meditation music is music performed to aid in the practice of meditation. It can have a specific religious content, but also more recently has been associated with modern composers who use meditation techniques in their process of composition, or who compose such music with no particular religious group as a focus.

Congratulations on making the decision to begin meditation practice. There are many benefits to meditating regularly: calming the mind and body, lowering blood pressure, improving sleep, reducing stress and anxiety to mention just a few.

It can be a challenge to sit quietly and focus on your breath in a world that is dependent on multi-tasking and filled with constant noise from traffic, music and phone conversations. If you’re just starting meditating you might find it helpful to learn what others have done to begin.

1. Choose a time of day when you have the fewest distractions. For many it’s first thing in the morning or in the evening, but not just before bed as you may fall asleep. Find a time that works for you – it may even be during your lunch break.

2. Sit comfortably or lie down. You don’t need to sit cross-legged on the floor unless you find that a relaxing position. Keep your body erect – no slouching. And if you lie down, try not to fall asleep.

3. You can close your eyes, but keeping you eyes opened and focused on an object or spot on the wall will help keep you awake if you’re afraid you’ll fall asleep.

4. Set a timer so you don’t have to keep looking at a clock or wondering if you’ve meditated long enough. Aim for 15 minutes to start, but don’t worry if you can only sit for 6-8 minutes at the beginning. Just keep practicing and eventually the 15 minutes will stretch to 30 or more.

5. Begin by focusing on your breath: inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Try counting to 4 as you breathe in and 5 as you breathe out. If you can, breathe deep into your belly.

6. Whenever you find your mind wandering, refocus on your breathing.

7. Make meditating a regular habit, like brushing your teeth.

It’s easy to start meditating by generating little moments of “awareness” during your day. Just breathe in and out slowly and pay attention to the breathing rather than what’s going on around you – you can even do this at a stop light while driving. This momentary break in your routine can help reduce stress and improve your outlook. I’m sure you’ve heard, “Just stop and take a deep breath.” as advice when things are hectic. The more you do this, the calmer you’ll become and your meditation practice will improve.

Don’t get frustrated and stressed that you’re not doing it right. Like anything new, it takes time to become familiar with a new routine. You might find it helps to join a group or do meditation with a friend. Even read meditation books or get a CD to guide you.

Just remember that you’re a beginner and you won’t know everything or “do it perfectly” the first time. Like riding a bike, it takes practice until you’re effortlessly sitting quietly and meditating for what seems like no time at all, even though your timer goes off after 15 minutes.

Brainwave Entrainment Panic Attacks and How to Get Rid of Them

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

When one is a sufferer of panic attacks, it is often a huge task before you when you are considering ways to rid yourself of these panic attacks which have taken away such a big part of your life and had such negative effects on your lifestyle. But the main aspect which any sufferer of these kinds of attacks whether they are panic attacks or anxiety related attacks, it boils down to just one thing and that all of these disorders are mental disorders and therefore have their origin in your own mind.

To effectively be able to begin to find a way to be rid of panic attacks and the negative influences which you are allowing them to have in your life you have to be able to regain control of your subconscious mind and what you allow external influences such as advertising, the media, your friends and family and any number of other sources to literally dump into your subconscious in much the same manner as we dump all our garbage into landfill sites.

The only effective way to do this is by learning effective brainwave programming which will serve as a guard as to what we allow our conscious mind to feed through to the subconscious, the conscious mind is meant to be the gatekeeper to the subconscious, but over the years of detrimental brainwave programming which we have allowed ourselves to be subjected to the conscious mind is no longer focused enough to be able to sift through all the rubbish which we are allowing to be sent to our subconscious mind.

It is for this reason that the subconscious mind is no longer able to determine what the correct way to react in certain situations is or when confronted by certain stimulus. Now this is where the true secret to getting rid of panic attacks comes in, if one is able to learn techniques such as meditation or brainwave programming, then you will once again be able to gain access to the subconscious mind and effectively be able to correct this incorrect programming so as to remove the cause of these panic attacks.

By being able to alter the way in which the subconscious mind reacts to certain situations and stimulus you will effectively be able to remove the cause of such attacks rather than simply treating the symptoms of the attacks.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ?ind-tripping? enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.

Meditation, Meditation, Meditation!

OK, I get it. I need to start. It’s good for me. Everybody is doing it. But I can’t get it together. I get antsy and distracted. It’s not working.

Does this sound familiar? Have you tried and tried to Meditate but just can’t sit that long? Well, you are not alone.

I am aware that it can be frustrating to have all your good intentions end up in restlessness, or feelings of unrest, even agitation.

Not to worry. It’s not ADD and you can still achieve the magical meditations you are hoping to experience. There is just this one tiny missing link you need to discover. It’s how you prepare yourself for the meditation, before you actually begin.

The preparation is important. It’s hard to cook a delicious meal without the proper planning and preparing, and the same is true for a Meditation.

In order to be able to sit in a Meditation long enough to reap the rewards one must be relaxed. In order to be relaxed, one must learn to breathe. The breath is the missing link mentioned earlier. Regardless of your physical or emotional state at the moment you decide to sit in a meditation, it cannot compare to how relaxed you will be at the end.

Where you physically place yourself is part of the preparation. Pick the same spot each time. The energies build up, and the area becomes pleasant and inviting. Be comfortable, choose nice music, candles, incense, fresh flowers, open the window for fresh air… Some experts suggest showering and a clean outfit as an option. The area must be clean and uncluttered and quiet. All of the above promotes relaxation, and you haven’t even started yet.

Now sit. Next close your eyes. Take one long, slow deep breath. And another. And another. Keep up the slow inhale and exhale for as long as you feel you can, or want to. It’s the breathing that keeps the mind still. While you are connected to you breath, the sound, the feel, your thoughts cannot come in. You can add a count to the breath. for example, start with 4 counts on the inhale and 4 on the exhale. Eventually you move to 5 and 6.

You will find the breathing becomes slower naturally, and you can stop counting.

I know that when I reach the point of not wanting to ever leave that chair, I am at “alpha” level, the brain state of light meditation.

Dedicate yourself to daily Meditations, by repeating the process each and every time.

Once you are able to reach the alpha state, you can choose what to do next. You may decide to just continue the breathing, which is highly beneficial and relaxing.

You can introduce healing techniques, visualization, guided meditations.. the list is endless. But for the beginning, practice quieting the mind and staying there as long as you want.

By just relaxing the mind daily, you relax the body and all the healing and balance you create will stay with you throughout he day.

Happy Meditating to you all.

For some many months now I have been reading and studying and researching the text of the book of Revelation and what a blessing and enriching reward it has been, spiritually speaking, but also most challenging, and it is this I so wish to share with you. I wish I could take you through this book chapter by chapter and verse by verse, as well as giving you the bigger and broader picture.

We must not become too engrossed in all the detail and details because we really do not know the full significance of much of what John is seeing and writing. It is a vision and it is written in visionary language and we in the west in particular are not too used to visionary language.

These dear people in the first Century who were disciples of Jesus Christ were being sorely and severely persecuted and what he wrote would speak to them in no uncertain manner.

What follows flows from the latter part of Revelation Chapter 18, and I urge you to take time to read and meditate upon this part of the Word of God.

In verses 17 to 19, we see a complete collapse of the whole secular commercial world, as God judges righteously, and in one brief hour it will be over.

And, we see not one sign of anyone repenting and turning to Jesus Christ for mercy and forgiveness.

The jewellers and the fashion houses and the expensive furnishings and the perfumers and the fine food shops and the car show rooms have all disappeared and the traders and merchants are mourning over the loss of what they had invested in and what they had given their life to. Yes, we have to be involved in the world but we have to be careful that we do not get mixed up with the low standards and corruption and financial motivation of the world and sometimes keeping a fine balance is not an easy task.

Now, how are we who belong to Jesus to react on that day? We are to rejoice.

The believers and the ones who have been sent into the world in the name of Jesus, and the men who have gone with a prophetic word are to rejoice, because God has judged sin.

It is not men who are being judged. It is sin. Yes, men are involved.

The chorus is, “No more – No more – Never again.” It is all over, and it is so decisive and so final.

There will be no more music and no more work, and no more light, and no more weddings, and no more bright lights, and sinful celebrations. These routine events will be over.

Jesus Christ spoke about life going on as in the days of Noah. Do not let the on-going routine fool you. Justice will be done.

There has been greatness, but greatness has been misused. Yes they were great men, but notice in verse 23 that the word “were” is used. They were great in the eyes of man but they are no more!

All today’s so-called bright spots will take on a tragic appearance on that day.

For those who truly belong to Jesus it will be glorious, and there is the mighty roar, “Hallelujah”, which means “Praise the Lord!” Praise the Lord that the world has ended.

This is the only place in the entire New Testament where the word “Hallelujah” is used.

We now hear a voice of celebration.

We are not to feel sorry for what is going to happen on that day.

We are not to say, “Isn’t it terrible that all this should happen!” However attractive and appealing the spirit of the world may be, its downfall and annihilation is sure and certain. People had worshipped everything their hearts were set on and yet finished up with nothing.

The judgment is now finally past, and those who are in Christ appear with the Lamb triumphant and victorious.

It is complete and final. There is a sense of stillness and silence. There is no more bartering and trading. There is no more leisure. In a day when there are more and more festivals and musical weekends this judgment deals with art and industry and even domestic activity. Yes, there is a finality about it all.

It is as if Babylon had never been!

God is not going to restore the old economic prosperity, but He wishes to restore our character, and there is a call going out to become holy. We see that away back in verse 4.

His desire is to raise up a people who are pure and spotless and holy, and who will rejoice when they see wickedness and sin being judged by Him who is righteous.

This is where the “Hallelujah Chorus” comes from in “The Messiah”.

How many know that that great piece of music has this awesome reference to the day when God judges the world and when sin is judged and when businesses and commerce collapse and crumble?

We are able to have a preview, and look at the judgment of the world from God’s viewpoint, and we are taken behind the scenes, and we see who is in control, and we see what is going to happen, and rejoice.

This book, like Exodus, is all about God. At that first Babylon, when building the Tower of Babel, man said “Let us build”, and they were scattered, but now God is going to bring His people together.

Today is the time for the salt of God to be the salt of the earth, and for the light of Christ to shine brightly!

Thanksgiving is literally around the corner. Where did this year go? This question is being asked by me daily now. I was driving to meet my husband for dinner Monday night and some precious soul (over-achiever) already had their Christmas lights up. That was a whole new level of pressure, the likes of which I had never before experienced. Yes, The entire house and yard decorated for Christmas by November 15th. Seriously, who does this?

Rick and I have hosted holiday gatherings of 150+ people and had as many as 7 trees up when we decorated, but never have we decorated prior to the day afterThanksgiving. I mean why would we, when we had the option of staying up until 5am the night before an event: cooking, cleaning, and decorating and did I mention arguing about nearly everything.

Ok, so maybe somewhere between is a balance. I was always a last minute kind of girl. I swore I worked better under pressure. I know now that was utter nonsense. I now strive for balance in everything I do; Holidays especially.

Here are 10 tips to keep this Holiday season balanced for you and your loved ones.

Maintain a regular sleeping, eating and exercising schedule. There are plenty of other changes in your life during this time. Try to keep these schedules consistent.
Limit Alcohol. I know, I know… aren’t the holidays about celebrating? They are and I am not saying forgo the holiday cheer, just limit it. Alcohol dehydrates, depletes vitamin B and ultimately it is a depressant.
Get organized. Keep a calendar or master list for all that you need to do. Stress causes short-term memory glitches (I have been to the grocery store 6 times for vinegar over the last 4 weeks, no lie.) Next time, grocery list.
Know your budget and live within it. Set a budget and spend only that amount. Better if you spend cash and enter the new year with no new debt. Sparkly lights, festive music and the desire to make others happy should not create financial stress you will have to endure well past December.
Be realistic. Stop putting pressure on yourself to create the “perfect” holiday for your family and friends. Focus on what makes the time special for you. If you know Uncle Bob is going to get tanked and start talking politics and guns after dessert, and that makes you uncomfortable; then set limits on your visit. Perhaps some pumpkin pie to go is not a bad thing.
Learn to say no. Say no to things that will not bring you joy so you have time, energy, and room for the things that will. A slice of fruitcake, NO thank you. Some cheesecake, YES please!
Work in some “Me” time. Focus on your needs and feelings, take time and honor them. Meditation, yoga, a long walk or a cup of herbal tea can be a wonderful break from your day and your challenges.
Reconnect with those who feed your spirit. Your college roommate, the maid of honor in your wedding, your great-aunt Kathie; you know who they are. You love them and spending time with them. Phone, visit or if all else fails email. Just make an effort to reconnect.
Buddy up. Gift wrapping parties, cookie exchanges, pot luck meals. Share the tasks and make it fun, perhaps this is a new tradition in the making and less work for you.
Get support if you need it. The holidays can be painful for many people and many reasons. You don’t have to go through this alone. Ask for support, you deserve to Live-Joy-Fully.

Brainwave Entrainment What Are Your Options For Treating ADHD Without Medication?

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Treating ADHD without medication can include brainwave training and homeopathic and/or herbal remedies. Natural health care providers are successfully using these tactics individually or in conjunction with other strategies, depending on the person’s symptoms.

Biofeedback Training for ADHD and Other Learning Disabilities

One of the most promising non medication treatment strategies for ADHD is the field of
electroencephalographic (EEG) biofeedback, also called neurofeedback. Brainwave training teaches a way of focusing attention that is called “open focus”.

Brainwave training (EEG) is a natural way to address learning difficulties as well as ADHD/ADD symptoms. It can help improve work or school performance, address behavior issues and eliminate or reduce the need for prescription medications.

Research has shown that EEG training can help ADD/ADHD children to gain self-control, increase IQ scores and help eliminate problems like out of control behaviors, bed wetting, and sleep disorders. Additionally, once the child has learned and is acclimated to relaxed concentration through EEG biofeedback training, training can be discontinued, with lasting results.

Another way to treat ADHD without meds is with homeopathic remedies. Homeopathic medicine has many advantages. It has proven to be safe and even gentle enough to use with babies and small children. No prescription is needed, it is economical and troublesome side effects are rarely experienced.

Homeopathic medicine doesn’t cover-up or suppress symptoms like prescription medications are prone to do. Instead, it works to support the body’s natural balancing and healing ability by addressing the true, and sometimes hidden, cause of imbalance.

Treating ADHD without medication is possible with alternative methods like brainwave training and homeopathic and/or herbal remedies. ADHD is a disorder with symptoms that can vary widely from person to person, so everyone will respond differently to these methods. For more information or to get help in developing a personalized plan of action, see a naturopathic physician or other natural health care provider.

For thousands of years meditation has settled the minds of countless people, you can get a huge range of benefits, reduce your stress and sleep better. Here’s a few tips to get you started:

1. Find a method that works for you

So, lots of people out there tend to get a bit confused by all the options when it comes to meditating. Is transcendental better then vipasana. Or would a guided meditation on tape be better than a class where you get in touch with your spirit guide!!!

It’s all a bit confusing, especially if you’ve never done any sort of meditation before, so the best place to start is somewhere that you’re comfortable. If you don’t feel completely comfortable with what you’re doing then, it’s going to limit the benefit that you get.

Have a look around and do a bit of research and see what fits for you. But don’t use this as an excuse not to do anything! The health and psychological benefits of meditation are undeniable so keep in mind that any type will give you most if not all of the benefits that you’re after

2. Make a specific time and place

This is something that many people overlook and it makes a really big difference to your meditation practice. By having a time and a place you make it much easier to develop a habit of doing it daily and you can find a time that is unlikely to be interrupted and a place that you shouldn’t be disturbed. After all not many people can see someone sitting quietly with their eyes closed without coming up and asking what on earth you’re doing!

And it’s not like you need to have a whole room set aside to meditate in (although that’s great if it’s possible) often a good compromise is to have a corner of a generally quiet room and if you have a mat or something like that to meditate on, have it set up there. Even if you can only use the space while you’re actually meditating and can’t stake a claim to it all day, just having a spot makes it easier to meditate and will help to put you in a relaxed state as your mind knows what is going to happen when you sit down here.

A good time to meditate is early in the morning, it’s quiet and there’s not so many interruptions. Also it’s a great way to start your day with a nice calm outlook, making it easier to deal with the stresses of the day. On the other hand, mediation just before going to sleep is a great way to relax and unwind, and drop off in no time. About the only place you really don’t want to have your meditation space is in your lazy boy, in front of the TV – that’s just asking for trouble!

3. Some physical exercise before it

This one isn’t essential but it can really help. If you’ve ever done a yoga session and meditated at the end of it you’ve probably noticed that your mind tends to be much quieter than normal. Part of this effect is simply that you’ve been focusing on your body, not thinking random thoughts. Going for a jog before you meditate can help to give you a greater calm and make a space for your meditation.

4. Don’t get frustrated by an apparent lack of progress

Often we start meditating and it feels great for a little while, but then we feel that we’ve stopped and aren’t moving. This is a very common and normal experience and the trick is to be aware of what it is and that it doesn’t matter. Every time you meditate from the very first time, you’re doing good things. Your mind is stilling and your body is relaxing. Even if you’ve had a horrible day, a session of meditation will do wonders for you.

Progress in terms of calming your mind and spiritual awakening is a subtle process and often has plateaus followed by bursts of rapid unfolding. IT seems like the work is often happening far below the level of your awareness and then a great bubble just pops up and you realize that the consistent effort has been paying enormous dividends even if you weren’t aware of it

5. Utilize technology with binaural audios

Now many purists would have an issue with bringing technology into something as low tech as meditation, but each to his own I say. Why not take advantage of the availability of advanced brainwave research to combat the onslaught of stressful situations that are also present in our every day lives. The world has changed and we can’t all spend our lives as a hermit and spend 5 hours a day meditating. Although this would be great, few people have the slightest chance of doing that in our modern world.

So if you can only spend half an hour in the evening after the kids are in bed, wouldn’t it make sense to get the most that you possibly can out of that time? And a little trick that has been researched and is obvious from personal experience is that when you use these technologies, your unassisted meditations are improved!

The brain gets used to a being at a certain level of activity and when you are mediating in the normal sense it is easier to reach a state of deep meditation if you’ve been at that level before. So apart from philosophical arguments, there’s no denying that using binaural audio’s to give you a deeper meditative experience has no real down sides at all

Settling your mind with meditation is an incredibly effective way to sleep better. Stop the thoughts that keep you awake at night and find peace in your everyday life. I hope these tips help you sleep soundly from now on.

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you?e probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

sleep meditation Top 5 Ways to Tap Into Your Creativity

Meditation music is music performed to aid in the practice of meditation. It can have a specific religious content, but also more recently has been associated with modern composers who use meditation techniques in their process of composition, or who compose such music with no particular religious group as a focus.

Creativity is all about finding new ways of approaching situations and solving problems. We cannot restrict creativity to artists: writers, musicians or painters… Creativity, it’s your birthright and is useful skill for everyone and for all walks of life. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be hidden in the everyday life.

If you’ve ever wanted to unleash your creativity, here are some tips.

1. Journal Your Thoughts.

Write everything down. When you write simply for the joy of writing without any goal or deadline, you free yourself from expectation and can write freely. You may be quite surprised by the kind of ideas you can get once you’re in the flow. Even if the majority of it is nonsense, it’s those one or two big ideas that make it all worth it. Carry a notebook with you everywhere you go as you never know when you might be struck with the next million dollar idea~Everywhere you go, try to bring your notebook because you never know when your next brilliant millionaire idea can pop up into your mind~Bring a notebook when you are traveling, taking public transportation because you never know when your next millionaire idea can come up into your mind~Everywhere you go, carry your journal with you to be able to fill in your white pages at any time with a new creative idea~Carry your journal with you everywhere you go as you never know when you might be struck with the next brilliant idea}.

2. Go Outside

There’s nothing like the great outdoors and a dose of fresh air to boost your mental clarity and get those creative juices flowing. Next time you’re facing a tough decision or a mental block in your work, take a walk through nature to clear your mind.

3. Meditate regularly

So often we think that in order to be creative we need to stimulate all of our senses with music, poetry, intellectual conversations art or even wine. When in reality, true moments of creativity come from blank space. Meditation is an excellent way to do exactly that: giving our brains room to create.

4. Read a Good Book or Listen to an Audio Program

We’ve all heard that reading exercises the mind just as much as lifting weights does for the body, so read often and read everything. To really challenge your mind, read or listen to something you previously had no interest in whatsoever. We often have the habit to read the same books over and over again as for our eating habits. Why not try something such as Quantum Jumping to shake up your inner bookworm?

5. Create a MindMap

Lists are highly logical and engage the analytical left brain while neglecting the creative, right side of the brain. Next time you are tempted to make a list, switch things up and make a mind map instead.
Listening to music while you are meditating – not a good idea. … Anything you do with the thought that you are meditating is meditating. There are many ways to meditate. Personally, I find music to be distracting, but paying attention to sounds in your environment is part of insight meditation.

Meditation is a habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. You can use it to increase awareness of yourself and your surroundings. Many people think of it as a way to reduce stress and develop concentration.
Basic meditation music simply provides a way for an individual to go deeper with their meditation by adding a new layer to their experience. … Unlike many other music forms, the binaural beats work with the brain to develop a frequency most associated with relaxation.

Brainwave Entrainment Stress Relieving Medicines May Complicate Your Pets Conditions Further Leading To Even Death

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

It’s not that only humans suffer from stress and develop stress related illness. Animals too suffer from stress. We often remain oblivious to the fact that pets also suffer from stress. Being extremely sensitive to their surrounding, pets are known to develop emotional bonding with their owners (especially dogs) as well as fellow pets and any change in the environment triggers ‘change’ related stress in the same ways as it triggers stress in humans.

Stress usually is a response to stimuli involving situations that we consider to be threatening, depressing or out of control. The same is true for your dog. The animals respond by “fight or flight” method when threatened or frightened. During the “flight or fight” response, a complex series of chemical reactions and changes occurs in the nervous system of the body.

Sometimes, the “fight or flight” response doesn’t work, and the animal becomes very irritated or upset, then it may adopt the “conservation-withdrawal” response. This response is initiated by the hippocampus (part of the brain), which then signals the hypothalamus leading to release of chemicals that stimulate the pituitary gland to produces a compound. This compound in turn activates the adrenal cortex to release corticosteroids which calm the nerves.

Long-term corticosteroid release suppresses the immune system, which makes your pet highly prone to diseases. The stomach is stimulated to release acids by the corticosteroids, which can lead to peptic ulcers. Both the “fight or flight” response and “conservation-withdrawal” tend to physically tax the animal leading to disruption of normal metabolism, growth, reproduction, and immune function, and can also cause an animal to self-mutilate. Other physiological events that occur are a decrease in heart rate, sometimes to the point of stopping completely and loss of appetite. Your pet may ultimately die “for no apparent reason.”

Conditions such as infection, being kenneled, travel, breeding, separation from owner, shifting, addition or loss of a family member or another household pet, can cause stress in animals. In such cases, you dog can become extremely bored or show symptoms of severe stress such as fear, uneasiness and restiveness.

Dogs under stress can become violent, stop eating or overeat, become hypersensitive, bark incessantly, become hyperactive, destroy things or move objects in and around the household and resort to nervous licking or chewing of their own bodies. They can develop diarrhea, lose hair, develop mushrooming parasite populations, and their immune system can just disintegrate. What’s more disturbing is that stress can be a cumulative process. Each stressor by itself may not be significant and may seem apparently harmless, but when they affect your pet sequentially or simultaneously, they may push it over the threshold toward illness or death.

Stress Relieving Medicines

Dogs can be administered Stress Relievers to calm them. Some of these stress relievers claim to promote a sense of calm in animals exhibiting fear, fretting, anxiety or any unwanted behavior. But these medicines can also have certain risks and side effects. They can have toxins and induce drowsiness in your dog. These medicines may make your dog prone to reactions, drug interactions or adverse effects and are considered to be unsafe, inappropriate or completely ineffective.

These stress relievers are only meant to control short-term behavioral stress and anxiety and can be very detrimental to the pet’s health if administered on a long-term basis, even leading to death.

The Ultimate Remedy: PET-MUSIC

It has long been stated that music calms the savage beast and now with research to support that adage, you may be able to overcome stress or anxiety your own pet experiences. There are a variety of remedies to alleviate the stress your pet feels, and none may be more enjoyable for you and your pet than some soothing music. There is pet music to specifically provide a soothing soundtrack to lessen the stress of your pet and increase the positive brainwaves that elicit feelings of well being keeping them in good spirits.

Music therapy has revolutionized the way we can alleviate stress and anxiety in pets. It is safe with absolutely no side effects. This therapy employs music to untangle the knotted and stressed out nerves and brain, relaxing the mind-body as a whole. This music therapy is a method of beneficially recharging the cortex of the brain and distributing the latent energy throughout the nervous system of your pet. Usually, the effect of therapeutic music upon your pet is one of vitalizing, harmonizing and healing at almost every level of being. Music therapy is one of the most preferred techniques for relieving negative effects of stress.

Modern therapeutic science says that music has a massaging effect on our brain. Perhaps, that is the primary reason for widespread usage of music as anti-anxiety and antidepressant therapy and the handiest tool for relaxation when it comes to calming pets. helping ease depression, and aiding recovery from illness.
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain? ?requency following?response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

This ?requency following?response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ?ntrain?to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

If you’ve spent a small fortune on graphic designers, search engine optimizers, social networking experts and still find that your website conversions are low, then perhaps your website suffers from the marketing equivalent of Capgras Delusion, a failure to make a connection between your online content and your emotional value proposition.

You’re Not My Wife

A woman phones her husband who’s in the hospital after suffering a head injury. The man recognizes his wife’s voice when she tells him she’ll see him in an hour. An hour later she arrives at the hospital, enters the room, and attempts to kiss him on the forehead. The man looks up at his wife startled, and says, “Who the hell are you?”

The man recognizes the woman in front of him as someone who looks like his wife, but he is completely convinced that she is an imposter even though he recognized his wife’s voice over the phone only an hour earlier. This is a classic case of Capgras Delusion. The part of the brain responsible for visual recognition is functioning fine, but the part that makes the connection between his wife’s appearance and what she means to him emotionally has been severed.

Without An Emotional Connection Marketing Appears Fake

The brain is made-up of various systems that operate both separately and in unison with each other. The brain’s interpretive emotional mechanism, the Limbic System, is what gives meaning to the objects, images, sounds and people we encounter. Without this emotional connection things have no meaning and in fact can be regarded as fake.

Observations of Capgras Delusional patients illustrate how fundamental the sense of sound is in giving meaning to the world around us. Sound, it appears, is even a more important sense than sight in terms of attaching meaning to what we experience, a fact website owners and marketing executives need to consider when developing a Web video presentation or in any brand imaging effort.

Sound: The Final Frontier

Sound is fundamental to our survival as a species and our functioning as successful communal creatures both in our private and business lives. Sound is one of the most complex and least understood tools marketing people have, but at the same time it is probably the most important, especially when associated with video imaging.

Julian Treasure, sound expert, tells us that sound affects an audience in four fundamental ways: Physiologically, Psychologically, Cognitively and Behaviorally.

Sounds paint emotionally charged mental images even without the aid of visual stimuli. The sound of a crackling fire, coffee percolating, a baby crying, or a woman screaming evokes vivid images and associations in our heads and fills us with emotional responses. The sound of thunder sends us scrambling for cover. The rhythmic beat of a favorite song gets our toes tapping and our heads bopping. The sound of a catchy fast food jingle gets our mouths watering, creating an instant craving for a hamburger and fries. The rhythmic recital of the alphabet helps children remember their ABC’s. And so on.

Sound can get your heart racing with excitement or slow it down to a state of mellow meditation. Sound can remind you of things you love, releasing endorphins and a desire to pursue the object of attraction. Sound can inform, enlighten and educate. Use sound wisely in your Web video or in your place of business, and it will communicate, influence and persuade; use it poorly and it will send your potential customers racing for the exits or clicking to your competitor’s website without a second’s hesitation.

Sound Tools

We associate sound with entertainment but for marketers it is a tool to be used to convert prospects into clients. When someone comes to your website they are for at least a moment, a captive, attentive audience. If your goal is to maximize impact you must use all the tools available, and that means both sight and sound.

Voice

The sound of the human voice is the most powerful sound tool marketers have at their disposal. The ability to control tonal quality, pitch, cadence and phrasing is unsurpassed as a means of delivering a meaningful, memorable marketing communication. Sound is the foundation of experience and nothing is as capable of infinite variation, nuance and meaning as the human voice.

If you pay attention to television commercials you will recognize many signature voices associated with brands: Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey, Sam Elliot, Keifer Sutherland, John O’Hurley, and the list goes on. Those old enough to remember the original 7-Up Uncola commercials of the 1970s will remember the distinctive sound of Geoffrey Holder, or the unique clipped phrasing and cadence of Rod Serling’s late 1950’s ‘Twilight Zone’ introductions. Would people still remember classic television shows like the original ‘The Prisoner’ or ‘Dragnet’ without the sounds of Patrick McGoohan and Jack Webb ringing in their ears? Remakes and sequels just don’t work without the power, presence and impact of those original distinctive voices.

Music

Music has always been a central and significant part of people’s lives. You need think no further than the notion of “our song” a musical representation of how two people feel about each other. Every generation has their sound, their musical heroes, and a play-list of their lives. The smart brands know how to use music to create emotional context and memorable experiences. There is no reason smaller companies can’t do the same thing.

In an effort to promote radio advertising Bob McCurdy created a website presentation ‘The Power of Sound’ to introduce people to some of the fundamental influences of sound in a commercial context. In his presentation McCurdy mentions numerous examples including an article by Adrian C. North, David J. Hargreaves and Jennifer McKendrick that was featured in the ‘Journal of Applied Psychology.’ The example describes how sound can influence prospective customers: when French and German music was played on alternate days for an in-store wine display, sales of French wines outsold German wines on the days that French music was played, and the reverse was true on days when the German music was played.

In another example McCurdy refers to an article by Adrian C. North, Amber Shilcock and David J Hargreaves as reported in ‘Environment and Behavior.’ It details how classical music played in a British restaurant led to higher per table spending by customers as compared to the days when pop or no music was played.

Rhythm

No truer words have been spoken, or in this case sung, than when Gloria Estefan sings ‘The Rhythm Is Going To Get You.” Watching the crowd in one of her concert videos illustrates how an audience moves in synchronized response to rhythm in a form of brainwave entrainment, a phenomenon that describes the brain’s ability to synchronize it’s own electrical cycles to external rhythmic sensory stimulation.

Entrainment is a natural occurrence in nature and was first discovered in 1656 by Christian Huygens, who found that the pendulums in a room full of grandfather clocks all synchronize themselves to the same rhythm even when they initially all started swinging at different rates. In his paper “On the Effects of Lullabies,” Johannes Kneutgen describes how a baby’s breathing, rhythmically responds to music. Since brain waves pulsate like sound waves in cycles per second it is easy to see how the phenomenon of entrainment can have a fundamental affect on how we think and react to rhythmic stimulation.

Context

In Bob McCurdy’s presentation ‘The Power of Sound’ he describes how in the 1970s, IBM worked to eliminate the sound of their new electric typewriters in an attempt to provide a better work environment, but the effort had a negative effect. IBM had to add back an electronic sound to the typewriters as typists found the silence disconcerting. The rhythmic sound gave the operators assurance that they were on-task and accomplishing something and that the typewriters were working properly.

A Nissan team of engineers led by music consultant, Toshiyuki Tabata, had to create an artificial high-pitched sound similar to the flying cars in the movie “Blade Runner” for their new hybrids, as drivers felt the silent running hybrids were missing something. And in fact the silent automobile was a potential traffic hazard as other vehicles and pedestrians could not hear it coming. In the same regard when the Las Vegas casino, The Bellagio, tried to eliminate the irritating sound made by slot machines, slot machine revenue decreased, forcing them to put the familiar sound effects back on the machines.

We are surrounded by sounds that give us reference, warning and comfort, without which we would lose much of the contextual information we need to function effectively on a daily basis. Big business uses sound design to create differentiating mental references for their products and brands ranging from the signature sound of how different car doors shut, to the unique crunch sounds of various breakfast cereals.

Sound Effects

McCurdy cites Herb Shuldiner’s report in ‘Motor Matters’ regarding British psychologist, David Moxon, who found the sound of a Maserati engine turned-on women more than men, even if those women had no previous interest in cars. An observation that must not have escaped Mazda when they created their “zoom, zoom” campaign. Perhaps any guy who wants to dump the suburban van for something with a bit more zip should take his wife to a Maserati dealership.

People react to sound instinctively, a phenomenon referred to as an ‘orienting reflex’ first described by Ivan Sechenov, a Russian physiologist, in his 1863 book ‘Reflexes of the Brain’ and later referred to by Ivan Pavlov, famous for his stimulus-response work with dogs, as the “What is it?” reflex.

Sound effects are the mnemonics of our lives; they attract attention, they generate interest, they stimulate emotion, and they create desire.

Conclusion

The power of sound is an essential tool in a marketer’s effort to communicate, influence and persuade an audience, and isn’t that what your website is suppose to do?
