Brainwave Entrainment Take A Bath With Isochronic Tones

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

We don’t take baths enough nowadays.

We’ve turned into such a busy culture that a five-minute shower might be all that we can squeeze in to our crazy, manic day. We wash the stinky parts, and we’re out of there. It’s all about the business of hygiene, and not much more. Taking a shower is goal oriented and not necessarily all that pleasurable.

And when we do op out for a shower, we are missing out on something that could bring us great pleasure.

The wonderful, soothing, relaxing experience of a bath.

Listening to Isochronic Tones, a form of brainwave entrainment that alters the frequency of your brainwaves with a single beat, will take the already awesome experience of bathing, to another level. The brain naturally mimics any repeated, rhythmic pattern and soon alters its state of consciousness to match those pulses. Isochronic tones introduce a specific pulse to the brain that encourages a whole brain experience.

The Virtues Of Taking A Bath

A bath relaxes your entire body. Every little ache and pain is enveloped in a warm, amniotic-like fluid that soothes them away. You lie back and let go.

You get to reflect on your own naked body. It’s really not that bad, is it? You have your good parts. Lit candles around the bathtub will give your body a nice, soft glow.

The warm water, especially if you use bubbles, massages your skin, leaving you feeling like you’ve been touched all over. We don’t get touched very much in our busy day. The bath resurrects this sense and you feel like you’re being hugged. Baths are particularly good if you’ve got no one to hug you.

If you add oils and perfumes, you activate another sense that gets ignored, the sense of smell. Many different aromas can change your brainwaves into a meditative and relaxed state.

When the water starts to cool, you turn on the tap, and the sound of the water falling into the soapy tub water, is deep and rhythmic, and again, triggers your relaxation response.

You can read, watch t.v., or even have a conversation, on the phone or in person, if you’re up for it. Heck, you can even text somebody if you’re so inclined.

And something you can’t do while taking a shower is drink wine, or eat chocolate (well, I guess you can eat chocolate in the shower, but it isn’t the same). You certainly can imbibe while you’re luxuriating in a bath.

Taking a bath is an event. Taking a shower is a chore.

Bathing incorporates all five senses, and maybe a sixth when you add Isochronic Tones to the mix.

How Using Isochronic Tones Enhances Taking Bath

You don’t need headphones, so you can play the recording as background music.
Because isochronic tones encourage the firing of both hemispheres of the brain, experiencing all the sensations in the bath will feel even more 3-D.
Your senses will run at a much higher, sensitive level.
The water will feel silkier, warmer…more soothing.
The smell of the bath oil will envelop your entire being, not just your olfactory system.
The sound of water running into the tub will sound like a rushing waterfall falling into a deep canyon. You’ll feel like you’re in some exotic location.
The candle light reflected in the bubbles will hypnotize you and transport you to another dimension.
And the taste of the wine, well, that’ll be an experience all on its own.

Taking a bath while listening to isochronic tones will either relax your mind, body and soul, or have the opposite effect of invigorating you.

It’s all about what you intend for your experience. Isochronic tones will take that intention, and magnify it.

You just might never take another shower again…except to wash the stinky parts.

This ?requency following?response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ?ntrain?to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ?ind-tripping? enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.

We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person? starting position, entrainment can be rather ?it and miss?

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you?e probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

What can training our brain or Brain Entrainment do for us when it comes to solving life’s problems or experiencing a better quality of life?

In this current day and age, is it not absolutely amazing at what the human race can, and has, achieved?

Our wondrous feats of technology, power, science and innovation and yet we have managed to accomplish these feats using less than one tenth of the most spectacular organ we have – our brain!

You would have most certainly heard the common fact that we only use around 10% of our total brain’s capacity and potential. Some would also argue that only the top level minds and geniuses of the world actually achieve this level whereas the rest of us “normal” people do not even go close to using that magical 10% of our gray matter!

So then, reflect on all we have done and all we can do and then imagine if you will, just what we could achieve if we all used not only 10% of our brains but 20%, 35%, 50%, 75% or even dare I say it 90 – 100% of our total brains capacity?

Could you imagine what life would be like? I have a fair hallucination that it would be significantly different to what we experience today!
Can Brain entrainment help us bridge the gap between actual use and the full potential of our brain?
The answer is YES!

“We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are.”

The secret to increasing our brain function and experiencing things, emotions and feelings like never before as well as changing the energy and vitality in our bodies is in knowledge and growth. Harnessing the power of your subconscious mind in conjunction with your conscious mind will allow you to accomplish feats that far exceed your current capabilities and expectations.

We speak of deep and powerful meditation states as the “work place” of this kind of enlightenment and brain use however this depth of meditation has previously come at a very high price as a result of years and years of discipline, sacrifice and training as per the Zen monks we often associate such meditation with.

The end result of this discipline and training was to put the body and brain in such a state that new horizons were opened up.

For over 150 years now, brain entrainment has been altering the consciousness of men and women and now with the use of Binaural Beats mp3 recordings as well as the even more powerful Isochronic tones, it has never been easier and more available to the common man or woman.

Regardless of your meditation experience or knowledge, these recordings can have you reaching Alta, Delta or Theta states in just minutes! All you need is your ears! Once you are “in state”, through these recordings, you can use the power of your brain to stimulate certain abilities and make significant physical, mental and spiritual changes in your life!

Binaural Beats are not dangerous at all and work by adjusting the operating frequency of your brain which results in brain stimulation that allows the optimum environment for advanced subliminal messaging.

This messaging lets the meditation beginner as well as the seasoned meditation professional, the ability to easily get into such states that stimulate, solve, enhance and cure many wishes and problems such as how to lucid dream tonight, how to reduce hair fall, how to increase IQ, increased energy and motivation as well as healthy skin tips just to name a very small few!

Very soon after commencing listening to a recording, you will begin to feel effects as your frequencies and in fact, level of consciousness is changed. Some of the common physical effects are:

The body feeling heavy and the inability to move freely
Total relaxation of the entire body from head to toe
Vivid visualizations, colors, and patterns
Separation of the conscious and subconscious mind
No Anxiety or Stress. Expect a sensation of all Tension leaving your body.
Feeling of sedation

Brain entrainment has really come into it’s own as technology has improved and been innovated. Although brainwave entrainment has been practiced in various forms for well over 100 years, today’s technology has now allowed the theories behind it to bring much easier implementation and of course far greater success whether or not you are trying to cure a problem or enhance your life.

Brainwave Entrainment How To Stop My Ears From Ringing – The Nuisance Of Tinnitus And A Simple Solution

How many times have you woke up in the morning with an annoying high-pitched tone in your ears and asked yourself how to stop my ears from ringing? Perhaps you attended a concert the night before and the music was extremely loud causing temporary hearing damage. Or, maybe you have an excess build up of wax laying near your eardrums. Possibly even, you have a persistent ringing caused by an ear injury or nerve damage. Regardless what the cause you are plagued with this non-stop frustrating annoyance known as tinnitus.

Tinnitus can be an extremely uncomfortable condition that can be made worse by continued exposure to things that cause ear damage such as loud concerts, machinery, or injuries of the ear. These noises can cause a person with tinnitus to become irritable or be startled easily. Nearly 20% of people suffer from some level of tinnitus or ringing of the ears.

Nearly everyone experiences tinnitus at one time or another, whether it be a major loud ringing, or a simple nagging faint sound that will not go away. If this condition lasts longer than a month or so it can become a real problem and lead to anxiety and stress as well. In some cases tinnitus could be a symptom of other ear related issues so it is always important to seek medical advice from a doctor. But, unfortunately, in many cases a doctor may not find the root cause of tinnitus if it has been due to exposure to loud noises.

Now there is a wonderfully simple technique to eliminate ringing in the ears and the pain associated with tinnitus. By implementing the use of brainwave entrainment and binaural beats in conjunction with your doctor’s prescribed therapy or medication you can completely get relief from tinnitus. Binaural audio has been used for decades and has been discovered to be useful in many health and spirituality areas. Multiple audio tone frequencies (usually two) are played simultaneously, one in each ear, to create a sound wave of a certain frequency. This frequency is tuned to the specific desired brainwave state or internal organ frequency to cause a specific effect. Binaural audio can relieve tinnitus symptoms as well as other health related issues such as stress and migraine headaches, joint and organ pain, and more. Brainwave entrainment is also very useful in meditation to reach certain levels of brain activity such as Alpha, Delta, and Theta.

Research has shown the beta frequency helps ease tinnitus and related symptoms and allows you to relax and be more comfortable. In fact, you may be able to find relief before your medications take affect, and you may find it easier to get a peaceful rest or sleep.

Everybody has definitely experienced a headache once in his or her lifetime. Since it is one of the indispensable and common illnesses everyone experiences, people have learned to find ways to relieve the discomfort brought by headache.

REMEDYING HEADACHES

Headaches are usually caused by physical and emotional stress. If you are dying to find a solution to your persistent headache, try taking in over the counter remedies like aspirin, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen. But if you are not a big fan of prescribed or over the counter medications, try these home remedies for a change.

– Try using compresses or cold packs. For tension headaches–the most common form of headache–try applying a warm or cold compress to your forehead and the base of your neck to numb the pain.

– Try using heat. If cold compresses wouldn’t work out for you, try using a warm washcloth or a hot water bottle can ease pain.

– Develop a routine of deep breathing exercises. If you suffer from headaches very often, try sitting in a darkened room, take in deep breaths using your nose, and let it pass through your mouth.

– Experience the wonders of acupressure. By squeezing the web of skin between and the thumb through acupressure, it can reduce the pains and can help you relax.

– Try relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, and biofeedback. By trying these relaxation techniques, the person who suffers from headache can feel the pain flowing out of the head. It can also help reduce stress.

– Relieve the affected area by applying ointment with heat. Ben-Gay or Icy Hot rubbed on forehead or on the base of the neck, can give a soothing warm feeling to your head.

– The power of music. Try listening to a relaxing music while lying down or resting.

– Exercise regularly. Physical activities like regular exercise can relieve stress because it can loosen up the knots and balls of pain in your head.

– Get enough sleep. Having six to eight hours of sleep can help you soothe your tired nerves. But, beware of sleeping more than 10 hours because it can cause major headache as well.

– If possible, use a neck pillow in bed. If you are prone to experiencing morning headaches, try using a neck pillow to your neck while you sleep.

– Totally eliminate caffeine, salt, MSG, and chocolate in your diet. Load up on lots of fruits, veggies, and water to keep your body well hydrated.

– If you can, avoid bright light because it leads to a major headache once your squint.

– Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals can lead to low blood sugar. When your sugar level goes down, your blood vessels in the brain tightens that leads to headache.

– Don’t eat foods that have nitrates, sulfites, and msg because these are primary headache causers. Also avoid aged cheeses and nuts so you won’t experience headaches.

– Don’t smoke and avoid smoke-filled rooms.

When you wake up with that familiar tingle on the lip, you know you are in for a ten to fourteen days of an eye sore on your lip. Let’s try to analyze some of the triggers for cold sores and gain control over this herpes problem. By knowing what the conditions are that help create the cold sore blisters we have some mastery over the problem.

1) Sunlight and UV lighting can trigger cold sores so be careful when you are out in the sun or using a sun lamp or tanning bed. Be sure to use spf lotion on your lips. The sun is what started my initial cold sore on my lip years ago. The skin there is very thin and vulnerable.

2) Study your argine intake. Argine is an amino acid that is in protein powders and supplements, chocolate, peanut based products and other nuts. When this is out of proportion with the other amino acids, a cold sore can arise. Take a lysine supplement to help with this issue but it is wise to try to avoid argine rich foods. The body cannot make lysine so it needs to be attained via foods and supplements.

3) For women, the menstrual cycle can be something that changes the estrogen levels and this in turn can trigger a cold sore. Keep a journal to see if this is happening to you and what time of the month you seem to get a cold sore. Other changes such as perimenopause, pregnancy and menopause will also alter your hormones.

4) Physical fatigue and exhausting schedules can lower one’s immune system and lead to a fever blister forming. Try to eat well and get a good night’s sleep. Find ways to manage stress intelligently including tai chi, yoga, meditation, massage and listening to music.

5) Don’t schedule involved dental work during an important time for social or business meetings. I have gotten cold sores when my mouth was worked on and this seems to be due to the skin being stretched and stressed by the process. I found it helpful to use moisturizer on the lip and tell my dentist I need breaks to rest my mouth.

By being aware of the triggers and taking lysine, you can assist yourself in reducing significantly the severity and number of cold sore outbreaks you get. Daily, use a system of good supplements and rest to keep your immune system strong.

Oh, the unnerving feeling of losing control. Don’t cha just hate it?

I’ve interviewed scores of women who’ve shared that “losing it” is one of their biggest fears and most daunting obstacles.

Why does not being able to control our circumstances, surroundings, or responses of others cause us to fall apart at the seams and resort to all manner of unhealthy activities?

Eating not two but three pints of Cherry Garcia comes to mind as does the pervasive, soul-sapping “un-activity,” procrastination. Sometimes we choose to stick our head in the sand and hope the situation will blow over.

And sometimes lack of control over one or two circumstances will lead to a feeling of lack of control over everything. In a flash our whole world, in our mind’s eye anyway, turns upside down into one big ole chaotic mess.

I asked a friend and colleague of mine, Life Coach Joann Lim, why she thought lack of control is such a bugaboo for many women and why it can lead to an overall feeling of utter chaos. Joann said CHAOS = CHANGE. We often feel like our lives are out of control and chaotic when our status quo is disrupted, that is, when change of any kind takes place.

A few short weeks ago a team of movers swarmed into our house to box up our belongings and transport them from Lovely Lynchburg, Virginia, to Beautiful Bel Air, Maryland. Sure enough, change was occurring right in front of me. I felt control-less in the midst of chaos despite the team’s orderly manner and noteworthy professionalism. Breathe, Jory, breathe!

But check this out. Joann showed me that the letters for C A N are in the word CHANGE whereas the letters for C A N N O T are not!

Hmmm. True that. So how ’bout if we focus on what we CAN do when life seems to overwhelm us?

Let’s start with the four chief categories that comprise life as we know it: Physical, Psychological, Emotional, and Spiritual. And let’s put several options under each category that will help us stay grounded in the midst of chaos/change.

[I polled my colleagues, clients, Facebook friends, and my captive audience at a recent Women’s Expo in Baltimore, Maryland to come up with the following list.]

Proven Suggestions for Staying Grounded in the Midst of Chaos

Physical

Take a nature walk and truly appreciate your surroundings
Eat well
If you’ve downed too much ice cream, go eat something healthy to get back on track
Drink plenty of water
Choose to smile despite what’s going on around you
Take a bubble bath
Drink warm tea
Arrange fresh flowers
Take a yoga class (or Zumba or Nia or belly dancing… whatever you enjoy)
Reach out to your spouse for intimacy
Breathe!!

Psychological

Meditate or contemplate on all that’s good in your life
Think of three small things you can do that will make you feel as if you’re back in control and/or making progress.
Prioritize your “to do” list
Focus on one task at a time
Remember why you’re doing what you’re doing to help cut down on overwhelm
If the task at hand doesn’t fit into the big picture, don’t do it
If necessary, give yourself a set amount of time to fret and stew
Set a timer — when your time is up, move on
Be at peace with asking for help
Ask for help
Take care of yourself
Remember the oxygen mask rule — you need to put yours onfirst
Establish routines and stick to them
Ask yourself: “In five years, will this really matter?”
Celebrate your victories!!!! (a.k.a. “Do the Happy Dance!” wherever and whenever you can)

Emotional

Talk your concerns over with friends and family
Don’t complain as this will merely reinforce your feelings of chaos and overwhelm
Seek counsel from trusted advisers and mentors
Maintain a positive, grateful attitude (in all things, give thanks)
Enjoy your pets and/or whatever else brings you a sense of joy
Ask yourself, “What will bring my heart peace right now?”
Follow your intuition

Spiritual

Pray about everything
Be of service to others
Visualize C A L M — what does that look like for you?
Visualize and affirm a positive result
Read soul-nurturing books, articles, and magazines
Refresh your soul with music or anything else that feeds your spirit
Ask yourself, “How can I handle this situation in a way that has eternal significance?”

What I find particularly useful for me is to weigh everything against my God-given purpose, which is akin to asking the eternal significance question above.

As put forth by author and theologian Gordon T. Smith in his book Courage & Calling, we can think of purpose or calling as having three dimensions. (1) What is our general purpose or calling as children of God? (2) What is our specific purpose or calling that allows us to use our unique gifting to touch the lives of others? (3) And what are our primary tasks and responsibilities put before us right now?

As I’ve helped women discern their life purpose, I’ve discovered that many think they have to wait till a certain stage of their life is over before they can “find, follow, and fulfill” their divine calling. “When I graduate from college… when I finish grad school… when my babies go off to college… when I finish paying for grad school… when my parents don’t need me anymore.” We tend to think we can’t live out our purpose until [fill in the blank].

We’d be waiting forever if the planets had to align just right for us to live with purpose, passion… and joy.

If you’re home with young children, if you’re taking care of elderly parents, if you’re nurturing a husband back to health, if you’re faithfully fulfilling your God-given tasks and responsibilities, then know you are in the heart of your purpose. Add meditating on that comforting thought to the suggestions above. It will serve as your soul-soothing plumb line in the midst of what appears to be pure chaos.

Even if we’re in a fairly calm stage of life right now, change is waiting for us right around the corner. Let’s equip ourselves with a plan and strategy now so we can be prepared for whatever may come our way.

Brainwave Entrainment Our Unhelpful Competitive Nature

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

What’s wrong with some healthy competition?

I was 12 years of age, sitting in the back of my Dad’s new car just a few weeks before the end of a school year. My Mum had a brainwave, then went onto state that there would be a prize for either myself or my younger sister, whoever came home with the best school report card that year.

Even though I was always up for a bit of healthy competition, there was a huge problem with this competition and I had a huge disadvantage. Throughout my school years (as I have previously mentioned), I was a fidget, a gossip and was sometimes known to be a little bit naughty and cheeky to the teachers at times.

Some days I would even bunk off school to go my friends house, experiment with his Dad’s whiskey and eat cream cakes from the local shop whilst watching MTV on the TV that my friend had in his bedroom.

My sister was very different. She was a conformist to the rules, she had her homework handed in on time and always sat quietly in class to her teachers delight.

I was doomed for failure in this competition before we even got started!

I guess that a huge problem we may or may not be able to identify in our great Western culture is how society makes us rather vulnerable towards turning success and achievement into something holistically profound and life enhancing.

You may be able to identify as you read on how from the earliest years of infant hood, we have an informal allegiance of well intentioned parents, family members and educational professionals creating for us a pressure pot of competition between our siblings and our classroom peers.

This pressure pot seems to be specifically designed to churn out and produce the highest calibre of student that will strive for excellence in everything they do – or alternatively be a mediocre underdog. Identity Crisis.

The common cultural belief is that society demands this.

Our cultural norms tell us that in order to do well in life and succeed by getting a good job someday, it’s imperative that we conform to the rules, speak when spoken to and simply do our very best not to think for ourselves whilst regurgitating the information they present us with in as an effective and competent a way as possible.

To do this we must conform, sit still, listen carefully, pay attention, and don’t ask questions unless they are asked at the right time and in the right way.

The institution is no longer the safe haven in a cruel and demanding world that it once was. Whereas many years ago the family home may have offered a counterbalance to the brutality of 21st century living where society openly embraces the concept of a dog eat dog culture amidst the educational, business and career worlds.

The institution of family seems to have become little more than an incubator for nurturing the cravings for success and significance during our infant hood, that sets many of us up for failure as adults.

But this is our norm and just the way things are… right?

So, returning to the friendly family competition. I didn’t win that year and my sister brought home a far greater school report than what I did. All I can really remember about the whole scenario is how much I hated being beaten by a girl who was younger than me.

I just wasn’t good enough.

Was this who I was?

The profound emphasis that is placed on high achievement in schooling, the arts, the music industry and sports, in business, in financial standing and social status has always taken its toll, leaving countless numbers of people feeling helpless despite their best efforts, useless, worthless and without hope of ever being better.

Is this who we are?

In 2009 I returned home to Scotland after spending over 3 years living in both Australia and New Zealand. From the glamorous lifestyle of Queenstown New Zealand, I found myself in High Valleyfield in Fife, Scotland – literally apposite ends of the earth with not one similarity between them.

Within only a few weeks of my homeland return, I had began to notice a rather peculiar thing. Everyone looked so similar!

Now I’ve always understood the importance of street credibility, fashion awareness and the cruciality of ‘fitting in’, however this was possibly the first time in my life that I’d ever questioned my own desperate need for social and cultural approval.

At this stage of my life I had returned back to full time education for what was the first time in years, I was mainly surrounded by teenage students who were mostly up to date with the latest hairstyles, trends and fashions. Where I may previously have considered myself relatively ‘cool’ in terms of my fashion sense and general appearance, I found myself with some severe doubts over my degree of cultural relevance.

In the lad’s mags and health subscriptions, David Beckham (even over the age of 40) was still hugely influencing male grooming on a national scale. In Fife, within a few months of the latest billboard advertisement being publicly presented to the masses, an extremely high percentage of the 18 – 30 local male population would begin to groom themselves in a similar manner.

As for the girls, the R & B Queen of the time, Rihanna had taken a momentary downwards life spiral and has hitting the press for having had ‘gone off the rails’. One moth Rihanna was in rehab, the next was back on the international stage with dyed bright red hair.

In the months that followed, approximately half of the local Fife population between the ages of 16 – 24 also had dyed bright red hair.

Although as I must be honest, I quite liked the most recent David Beckham combover and Rihanna’s most recent shade of red, I did begin to question whether this rapid change in style was nothing more than the expressional of a cultural belief that conformity to the latest trends will win the favour of peers, further social acceptance and the might sought after adoration of others?

If my assumptions are accurate that our Western culture of competitive conformity is nurtured from within the walls of the family home, from our parents, amongst siblings, or through the attempts of not just ‘keeping up with the Jones’s’ but completely outdoing them financially, materialistically and relationally. Could this ‘learned competitiveness nature’ also become a cultural norm through the other institutions throughout our society?

If so this is a pressure pot indeed, where there is little room for the individual, the non conformist or the free thinker to simply survive, little own thrive!

Who could ever just be ‘good enough’?

In 2014 Scotland, some may say that we’re still in the midst of an economic downturn. What I’m about to suggest here isn’t necessarily new thinking, but could a reason for the downturn even happening in the first place be in part due to the greed of the bankers through loaning people money that they they would be unlikely to ever be able to pay back – alongside the consumer mentality on a nation in it’s attempts to simply keep up with the Jones’s?

Could the same sibling rivalry that gets nurtured in the family home be the same power hungry rivalry that penetrates the exclusive networking groups of the rich and financially affluent?

Could the same driving force behind the human races adulterous desire for more wealth and self status simply stem from exactly the same childish desire to compete and win amidst our siblings and peers?

The elusive temptation to compete and win will often govern us to the point of complete self consumption, bitterness and spite towards others and jealousy towards those we deem to be ‘better than us’.

Reflect up the countless stories of murders, rapes, paedophillic acts and other violent crimes that take place within the family home and even long term relationships. Could a reason for one persons need to overpower another and ‘come out on top’ be again, nothing more that a perverse desire to win?

If one person grows to believe that the amount of love and respect they receive from another is in jeopardy of being lost to a rival or competitor (a schoolyard rival, a business competitor, a company colleague or even a sibling), would this feel like an act of war in need of some desperate retaliation?

Whether we’re used to winning or losing in life will determine the amount of fight or resistance we put up towards our competition, and unfortunately, if we’re driven by the desire to protect what we currently have, we stand at risk of never even felling content or satisfied with what we have due to fear of losing it.

In the introduction, I mentioned a highly destructive relationship that I entered into upon my exiting the armed forces. The consistent fear I experienced throughout this relationship was of losing my partner at the time to another guy with bigger muscles, a larger bank balance, a bigger house or more significant career to which I would be unable to compete.

I guess all this stemming from a deep rooted fundamental belief that I wasn’t ‘good enough’ by just being myself.

Although we’ll be exploring this belief at a later stage in the book, this pattern of thinking held me hostage for years and played a he part in keeping me on the outside of my relationships for years. I lived in constant fear of losing whatever I had, so much so that keeping hold of second best or even an abusive relationship would be better that going back to being on my lonesome once again.

People will seldom do the things they do for the reasons we think that they do them.

Winning the competition and coming out on top is an ingrained part of our Western make up, as is plentiful sex, instant gratification, easy relationships, financial wealth, dog eat dog, and an abundance of materialistic possessions. These things are always sneakily marketed in a way that leads us to believe that they will win us the favour of others and ultimately make us the consummate insiders.

Many of these things when won, can often guarantee us into the most exclusive social circles of which others would envy and look up to. We win!

Many people in life pursue success as a means by which to overcome the painstakingly horrible feelings that accompany being the outsider.

I never got the golden stars or the glowing report cards, and I never won any prizes for being particularly special at anything I enjoyed throughout my school years experience. I never won the competition with my sister that year in question and a girl came out on top. I didn’t believe I was good enough.

Upon entering working age and joining the army, I had grown to believe that I had to do whatever it took in order to work my way through the ranks in view of reaching the top someday. I had this innermost need to succeed and be seen as significant, to achieve and win, to smash my targets, win the races, master the classes and find a way to manipulate the prettiest of girls into bed with me. Why?

Because from a very young age I grew to believe that I wasn’t even good enough to beat my younger sister in a stupid competition.

I believed that if I could find a way to reach the tops of the pyramids, win the competitions and master everything that I touched, I’d get access to the ‘special people clubs’, the top social sets and become able to merge myself in with the people at the top who I believed inspired me the most.

I was wrong.

I’ve spent years coming up with conclusions as to why I was so driven by success and achievement throughout my life, maybe the only person I ever really wanted approval and validation from was my dad? After all, I spent years in the attempt of gaining approval from countless other people who meant nothing to me, so who knows?

I’m not saying that my Dad ever openly declared his disapproval of me or claimed that he wasn’t proud of my achievements or accomplishments, but for some reason I always found it difficult to believe that he ever did.

This was just my experience in reality but by no means an expression of truth in actuality.

I’m not a Dad yet, but ‘God willing’ I will be within the next few years. I don’t believe for a second that any parent could express the approval of their children too much as it’s in our early years that we grow to develop our fundamental beliefs about who we are – whether we’re good enough, not good enough, winners or losers!

I grew to believe at an early age that beating the competition would enable me to find acceptance in the people that I thought mattered, and to date, all my greatest successes and achievements have never ben able to deliver what I’ve always needed the most.

Unconditional acceptance.

Winning the competition will seldom win you this prize.
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain? ?requency following?response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Brainwave Entrainment Binaural Beats Tips and Tricks

Binaural beats are a type of brainwave entrainment that needs to be used properly in order to experience the maximum benefits and effects. It is important to learn some specific tips and tricks before you go ahead and listen to your brainwave audios.

I have been using binaural audios for several years and these are the tricks that have worked best for me.

6 Steps for Using Binaural Beats

Step 1 – One of the most important things that I have found when listening to binaural beats is to make sure you are sitting in a quiet environment, preferably with your eyes closed. Outside noise and distractions are going to hinder you from blocking out the conscious mind and allowing the subconscious to take over. You will get far more benefit from your audio if you put your sole focus on it and are able to be relaxed in a quiet space.

Step 2 – When you listen to your beats make sure you plug in with a pair of headphones. This is one type of brainwave entrainment that needs headphones in order to get the full effect. Any set of headphones will do, just make sure you use them, as this is an important step.

Step 3 – The next important step is consistency. They do not always work for everyone the first time. Sometimes it takes your brain a bit of time to adjust and it might take some more time than others to get used to them. Be consistent and you will find that your mind cannot help but sync up with the beats and pulses and you will get to experience the beneficial effects.

Step 4 – Next you will want to make sure all of your other electronics are turned off. They cannot only distract you but some people are extremely sensitive to the EMF and radio rays sent out by certain electronic devices. When listening to your beats make sure they are the only device on and if possible that you are able to escape all other electronics in your environment.

Step 5 – Make sure when you are listening to your brainwave audios that you do not have the sound turned up too loud. This can be a common mistake as many people want to really make sure their brain takes it all in. However when the volume is too high it can actually create an obstacle for your subconscious mind to get around. You need to be able to hear the tones and beats but the volume should be at a relaxing and comfortable level.

Step 6 – The final step is to be done after you have completed your session. Take the time when you are done to relax and breather for a few minutes before carrying on with your day. Let your mind and body come back to reality and get grounded again.

Each of these steps will hopefully help you to get the maximum benefits and effects from your binaural beats of choice. There are lots of different audios to choose from so be sure to read the reviews to find good ones that are not only fun to use but beneficial for your mind, body and spirit as well.

Brainwave Entrainment Curb Your Capitalism – The Federal Open Market Calamity and Dis-Interest Rates

As short-term political motivation sullies the sanctity of central banking, presumptuous open market meddling, unrestrained by the boundaries of logic, makes a ticking time bomb of Federal Funds. It’s time we meditate on circumstance, accounting for the rational and the hardly so. Let’s see: inflation without spending? A stagnant, yet expanded money supply? At what point did capitalism become so irrational? What brought life to our economic paradox? The distant thunder of a self-imposed inflationary storm demands anticipation; it will not subside with neglect, and survival is a blessing left only for the aware, but it is the keen that will thrive. Stay informed, and stay ahead.

Interested in buying a home? Starting a business? Great, now is the time, but remember, financing structure means everything, and no matter the appeal of perceived financial opportunity, don’t be fooled by the money supply’s patchwork facelift.

To ye eager borrowers, fix your interest rate for the life of the loan, even if it means settling for higher-than-advertised rates.

To the do-it-yourself, asset managers: fixed-income debt securities (and preferred stock!) will quickly corrupt portfolio value, and if liquidity is a must, fixed income is a must-go.

Skeptics could dismiss these words as an attempt at virtual attention, as no economic prediction justifies proactive portfolio re-assessment (sigh). To this I say: comfort yourself in the warmth of explanatory blog posts and news feeds, but do not justify apathy with paralyzing over-analysis. Without a doubt, U.S. economic forthcomings are riddled with macro-mystery. Nevertheless, SOARING interest rates are a certainty in the coming years. I do not write for the sake of exploring a prediction; my purpose is to warn and advise against potential catastrophe.

Your orders are simple: Buy now, and lock it up. The curious real estate predicament occupying economic brainwaves has an upside… Historically low prices and mortgage interest rates flood the market with opportunity for both bargain-scavengers and property virgins (who can buy). The shortage of qualified buyers makes for a pressure free environment those elite consumers, still able to purchase real assets; however, prices only tell half the story. For too long, housing prices were the standard measure of affordability. Funny, even in the wild post-Clinton years of the 0% down payment, buyers focused on the home price, rather than the mortgage terms. The structure of a loan dictates affordability, not the price, especially, when down payments are inconsequential. Enough already! Interest rates direct real estate traffic; how about this example:

Two friends, Tip and Bop each buy a home, Tip for $500,000 and Bop for$300,000. Tip has an excellent credit score and initially puts 10% down, but immediately borrows back the down payment in the form of a home equity loan, resulting in an effective loan rate of 4.1% on the full $500,000. Bop waits a few months later than Tip, and because of climbing interest rates, little collateral, and a mediocre credit score, Bop winds up with a 8% fixed interest rate on a $300,000 loan. Despite a significant price difference in the homes, Tip pays $2,415 monthly (for a $500k home), and Bop pays $2,201 monthly (for a $300k home). Both effectively spent $0 day 1, but Tip buys (nearly) twice the home for a mere $200 more per month. If Tip purchased Bop’s home, his monthly payment would have been $1,449/mo – a 35% discount. Think of it another way: In order for Bop to lower his monthly payment to $1,449 with the same financing structure, he would need to negotiate the sales price from $300,000 down to $200,000.

So, I must ask: why do declining prices appeal to buyers more than declining interest rates? Obviously, this does not apply to those purchasing with cash, but you get the point.

The average price of U.S. homes has dropped 20% since its 2006 peak. While the 30-year fixed rate dropped from a 2006 climax of 6.88% down to 3.95%. So now, look at the $500,000 home in 2006, with a 6.88% interest rate, the monthly payment was $3,286. Let’s Factor in the effect of a 20% decrease in price to $400,000; that takes the monthly payment down to $2,629 ($2,293/mo if interest only). Instead let’s look at the effect of a 3.95% interest rate on a $500,000 home. With the new interest rate, the monthly payment is $2,372 ($1,645/mo if interest only). Now, we can observe the impact of a decreasing interest rate compared to decreasing prices. I give this example only to show the impact of interest rates, and how delicate your financing structure is to the affordability of your purchase. So, now you might be able to anticipate the effects of increasing interest rates in your financing agreement. Just take a look at the charts below, summarizing this paragraph.

As you can see, the change in interest rate has a much higher effect on the monthly cost than the change in price.

Interest + Principle

2006 Price ($500k)

2011 Price ($400k)

2006 Rate @ 6.88%

$3,286/mo

$2,629/mo (20% decrease from 2006 cost)

2011 Rate @3.95%

$2,372/mo
(28% decrease from 2006 cost)

$1,898/mo (42% decrease from 2006 cost)

Interest Only

2006 Price ($500k)

2011 Price ($400k)

2006 Rate @ 6.88%

$2,867/mo

$2,293/mo (20% decrease from 2006 cost)

2011 Rate @3.95%

$1,645/mo (42.6% decrease from 2006 cost)

$1,316/mo (54.1% decrease from 2006 cost)

The same $500,000 home in 2006 may be purchased now at $400,000 with interest rates down to 3.95%, taking the monthly payment down to $1,898.15! Well, it seems we have a bit more than a 20% discount here, amigo.

Now, why does this matter? Even though prices may continue to drop, interest rates have already bottomed out. The Federal Reserve has already exhausted its ability to create liquidity in this economy, and the Federal Reserve’s target Federal Funds rate essentially dictates what the 30 year fixed mortgage rate will amount to. The current Fed. Funds target rate is 0-0.25% – nothing! Since we know the Fed. Open Market Committee has almost no more room to force rates down; we may readily acknowledge, and appreciate, the bottom of Mortgage Interest Rates.

Why is this true? Well here is the extremely abridged version: Fed. Funds rate is driven down when the Fed. Reserve puts money into the economy by purchasing Fed. Agency Securities in exchange for cash. The additional cash creates a surplus over member bank reserves, which the member banks then loan out in the short term to lock in some profit from the otherwise stagnant funds. The Federal Funds Rate is the rate banks borrow overnight from one another (at the Federal Reserve) to meet reserve requirements. So, banks borrow money from others, issue loans with the added $$ (while not dipping below reserve requirements), resell those loans in the secondary loan market at a profit (in this case, usually Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac), and repay the loan the next day.

So what do we know? The rate at which banks access the funds used to supply mortgages cannot go any lower; likewise, you cannot expect mortgage rates to go any lower. Now, combine that thought with the added knowledge that interest rates have a greater effect on the cost of owning a home than do the prices of the home. What do you get? In all likelihood, the effective cost to homebuyers will never be lower than right now, even if prices continue to drop. Waiting for prices to bottom out will cost you money every month for the next thirty years, in the form of higher interest rates. Buyers must strike with low rates; forget the fear of price fluctuation. Take the time to understand how mortgage rates come to be, and learn the variables of influence.

What say you Inflation: You may have realized inflation persists, despite the fact Americans are less able to make purchases. Doesn’t make sense, huh. Normally, if there are fewer buyers, prices drop (deflation). However, we’re much too unique to conform so easily. The average American spends 12% of her disposable income on energy (oil…), and the oil market is dictated by OPEC (not American, ahhh). Since American’s have a relatively inelastic demand for oil (meaning the price can increase without quantity demand going down very much), we painfully endure the arrogance of oil prices. Additionally, American’s also spend 12% of disposable income on food – we certainly can’t stop eating. For a while, oil prices stayed high because of increased foreign demand (Japan, India for example), but even after that demand decreased, the prices stayed up because the decrease real estate value, turned investor speculation toward commodities, and the strongest commodity at the time was, you guessed it – oil and oil futures. So, commodity speculation kept oil prices high, and American trade (food for oil) kept food prices high, as well as speculation in agro-commodities. So what we have are two products American’s cannot part with, food and oil, both maintaining high prices, despite a shortage in American buying power. Americans are paying more money for the same products, while earning less. It all adds up: I had $5 yesterday, and back then, those 5 bucks could get me 5 cartons of milk. Well, I’ve only got $2 today, and those two bucks only get me one carton of milk! Yikes – I should have been keeping my money in milk and not cash.

The federal reserve sought to combat the disastrous conflict by cutting the Federal Funds Target Rate as low as possible, attempting to increase the purchasing power of a dollar (by making it cheaper to acquire), and thereby encouraging spending and money circulation. Nevertheless, inflation still outpaced Federal Reserve efforts, but don’t worry – we still have low interest rates. It is only a matter of time before America can start taking advantage of the low cost of borrowed money, and borrow we will! Because our cost of living is still increasing, America will rely on borrowed money to regain the purchasing power it once had, meaning the demand for borrowed money will be enormous, and once banks manage to make the surplus of cash available to the public, borrowing activities will take off like a slingshot.

So what does this mean to you? Well, when lending goes crazy, America gets the rushing high its looking for, followed by a shrill crash. First, the heightened demand for borrowed money will cause the price of borrowed money to increase (the interest rates), and because America must also compensate for a devalued dollar, the demand for borrowed funds will, by necessity, be exaggerated. Normally, the Federal Reserve would be able to limit dramatic jumps in market interest rates; HOWEVER, the Federal reserve will not be able to taper off this great liquidity surge because it has already purchased Federal Funds to its max extent. This means the U.S. government is, for all intensive purposes, the only player in the Fed. Funds market, and the interest on Agency securities will not be attractive when investment money will be able to achieve much higher interest rates and return in other market sectors. Agency securities just wont have enough bang for the buck, so the Federal Reserve will not ably to sell the securities, on the open market, in an effort to take money out of the money supply.

Interest rates will be free to soar without limitation, and the effects will be catastrophic. Fixed income securities of today will become worthless, as the interest rates will not be attractive. Variable rate loans will bankrupt the borrowers, as loan interest payments will become prohibitively expensive. But don’t be fooled by the apparent paradise of spending and money circulation that will precede the time of despair; American’s will spend their way into crises, as everything will be based off of debt. And demand, when unchecked, will rise until the world’s greatest ponzi scheme self-implodes. You don’t have to be a part of it! Secure yourself from now, lock in your rates, and don’t worry so much about the potential of lower prices. (yes, I know this doesn’t apply to all cash purchases).

If you’re interested in and capable of buying a home, do it now, but protect yourself from the inflationary storm on the horizon. Protect your dollar (I could get into how, but I’ve already said enough), and position yourself for success, no matter what we name our economic turmoil…boom, bust, recession… In America’s history, never have the evil economic stars been so aligned. Interestingly enough, America’s only hope is to stay in a recessed, stagnant economy until the dollar sufficiently deflates, so the proceeding borrowing frenzy will not be overly exaggerated, in an effort to compensate for a de-valued dollar.

Remember the theme of this message – interest rates have bottomed out, and the inevitable climb will come fast, meaning… NO FLOATING RATES! Forget they exist; I understand them from lender and re-purchaser perspective, but don’t let the short-term appeal make you a prisoner in your own home. Thirty-year loans are better than fifteens, especially for those with extra cash to purchase fixed-income investment securities after interest rates climb. You might find high grade preferred stock paying 7-9% annual interest later on, which will net out a positive portfolio cash flow, accommodating for the mortgage payment.

As a final note -you may wonder why this threat, if present, would not be recognized by those in charge of the country’s economic well-being – those far more qualified than I. Simple: politics baby! Remember, political motivations are always in the short term. Presidents and congressmen, like all politician, depend on re-election of themselves and of the party, so when America wants economic recovery, elected officials are expected to deliver, now. That just doesn’t make much sense – forcing elected officials to compromise the future to earn praise in the present. This one is on you America – it’s not like Obama is drinking your milk at night. Well… he might be. Congress oversees the Federal Reserve, and congress lusts over the future of consumption spending – a time where money seemingly surrounds us all, almost as if we were creating it out of thin air. So, how do we get there faster? Easy! Make money out of thin air. Most elected officials will be out of office by the time the easy money makes life hard on America. Just keep that in mind. Now, to conclude. Remember….

Be careful!!! The Federal Reserve has exhausted its open market tools of money-control. Do not underestimate the dangers of a money supply in anarchy. Today’s opportunists could become the prey of tomorrows housing market. In short, market interest rates can hardly avoid an upward blast.

Forever yours,

Tony Salloum

meditation music Stress Management Activity – The Dynamic Meditation!

Meditation music is music performed to aid in the practice of meditation. It can have a specific religious content, but also more recently has been associated with modern composers who use meditation techniques in their process of composition, or who compose such music with no particular religious group as a focus.

Many years ago, when I was actively looking for a meditation other than TM, I had formulated in my mind that I needed a method that was more ‘dynamic’

I can assure you that if you are looking for a stress management activity the Dynamic Meditation is fantastic as a great cleanser to start with and once you have done it several times, you can then appreciate the ‘meditation’ aspect of this method.

So, going back to my meeting with the Dynamic Meditation… After having made it clear in my mind that I needed an active method, just a few weeks later in Arundel, South of England, I met someone who handed me a small leaflet regarding a centre in London where Dynamic Meditation was happening.

The most astonishing thing was that I had not even mentioned this to him!

Anyhow, a few weeks later, I turned up at the centre at the earliest of times in the morning when it was scheduled. There was a roomful of people – well, how shall I say, letting go of their frustrations and emotions, expressing these in body movements and sounds (thankfully, not towards each other!). The intensity was quite amazing and the first time, amazed and impressed by what was going on around me, I just took it all in, not being able to follow the instructions.

In fact, one was advised to wear an eye mask in order to stay in touch with oneself and not be too surprised or influenced by the behaviour of other people.

But of course I did come back several times after that.

First, I learned to breathe just through the nose, expelling the air vigorously and letting the inhaling happen by itself, all done with no particular rhythm, but as ‘chaotically’ as possible! This lasted 10 minutes and the point was to reach part of our breathing mechanism that our day-to-day living does not allow us to reach, which stimulates our repressed emotions to come to the surface, to become conscious.

The second phase, also lasting 10 minutes, was about expressing those emotions, those repressions, to free us, the body and the psyche, from our conditioned behaviour, from fear, anger etc., which, hidden inside, can easily unconsciously control us from within.

Great stress management is this dynamic meditation! To be able to express whatever one has bottled up!

The third 10 minutes stage was to have our arms raised above our heads while jumping up and down, shouting the sound ‘hoo’, falling back on the soles of our feet, to help us reach the most profound centre of our energy, the sexual centre. The idea being to tap into that energy reservoir and enable it to rise and spread all over the body, creating a sense of enhanced vitality and well-being, even ‘bliss’ (especially in the next, ‘silent’ stage).

The fourth part was just standing still for 15 minutes in the position that the stopping of the music found us in. This is the ‘watching’ part of this method, the most ‘meditative’ as we would call it, although in time one is advised to develop the ‘watcher’ in the previous phases as well.

A great stress management activity, I can assure you, this dynamic meditation! Not only to be able to express whatever one has bottled up, BUT also recycling it afterwards into finer energy!

Great benefits to exercise and also can be an exercise for seniors, taking it easy to start with though!

Just one (obvious?!) thing:

You do need a fairly sound-proof space, or at least somewhere conveniently away from ‘non-participants’!

Or, if you think neighbours might be amenable to 20 minutes of considerably more noise than normal (!), you could simply warn them what to expect beforehand.
Listening to music while you are meditating – not a good idea. … Anything you do with the thought that you are meditating is meditating. There are many ways to meditate. Personally, I find music to be distracting, but paying attention to sounds in your environment is part of insight meditation.

Meditation is a habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. You can use it to increase awareness of yourself and your surroundings. Many people think of it as a way to reduce stress and develop concentration.
Basic meditation music simply provides a way for an individual to go deeper with their meditation by adding a new layer to their experience. … Unlike many other music forms, the binaural beats work with the brain to develop a frequency most associated with relaxation.
