Infrared heat therapy does it all at the same time, the whole body from head to toe, purified! Relax, take some time to yourself, listen to music, meditate, unwind and get healthy! Right in the comfort of your own home! An infrared home sauna is a handsome addition to any suitable room and does not require plumbing and extensive wiring. Just plug in and use. (Hint: meditation has been known to calm the mind and soul and this contributes to your well-being as well).

Sauna treatments have been part of many cultures for centuries; however with the high level of pollution and toxins you are exposed to nowadays, infrared heat saunas are becoming more of a necessity than a luxury in helping to keep the body in tip top shape for the optimal maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. The benefits of infrared sauna treatments are astounding.

Do you really desire good health? Lowering the toxic load of all the cells of your body is the way! Infrared sauna therapy provides major benefits in this regard. The infrared sauna treatments heat the layer of fats and oils that exist just below the skin surface. The fats and oils ‘thin’ and are then easily excreted through the pores.

The lymphatic system is part of the human immune system. It runs throughout your body, circulating and protecting you from bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc. Fats taken in by eating and drinking, pass through the lymphatic system before being processed and released into the blood circulatory system. The lymphatic system also removes excess fluids from the body. The heart pumps blood throughout the body. This is cardiovascular circulation. This action delivers oxygen and nutrients to every cell and removes carbon dioxide and waste products from the cells. If all your blood arteries and veins were laid side by side they would be long enough to circle the earth more than twice. Infrared sauna baths stimulate both the lymphatic and cardiovascular circulation. These are great physical benefits, your heart beats faster as in exercise, and your immune system is jolted into action.

We carry around a lot of junk in our bodies. These are toxins. How do toxins end up in your body? You inhale them, eat them and they are absorbed through the pores of the body. Some examples are coloring your hair, using toxic underarm deodorants, inhaling gasoline or cigarette fumes, drinking impure water, eating foods sprayed with pesticides and herbicides, contaminated fish, cosmetic use, breathing in smog, etc. These are just a few examples of the numerous sources of toxins. Infrared sauna therapy aids in the removal of toxins by inducing the opening of the pores and sweating. This is beneficial for the health and function of the body cells. (Hint: shower after an infrared sauna session using a non-toxic vegetable based soap).

Skin contains both sweat glands and oil glands. Both are agents of detoxification. Oil glands remove oil soluble toxins (found in items like gasoline, pesticides, make-up etc.) and sweat glands remove water soluble toxins (such as mercury found in fish, etc.). Longer heating time is needed to eliminate oil soluble toxins. Infrared heat saunas operate at a more comfortable temperature than traditional steam saunas. The chances of overheating and getting dizzy are lessened by the use of an infrared sauna over a traditional sauna. An infrared sauna is a more tolerable environment to keeping your skin temperature up comfortably for an extended period of time. (Hint: drink water before, during and after the session to prevent dehydration).

Infrared saunas use much less electricity than traditional saunas and therefore are environmentally friendly. The heat in an infrared sauna is radiant heat. Radiant heat warms only the body not the air. When the energy touches you, it converts to heat. This is like sunshine in your sauna. Let the sunshine in!

Reap the healing benefits of infrared heat and light! Take advantage of the healthy benefits of natural sunlight without the dangerous effects of solar radiation by using infrared therapy, infrared saunas, infrared lamps and wide spectrum lamps.

I wish you complete health and happiness!

1. The first reason is the destination of the fitness camp. The venue of this camp should be different from gym and other workout centers. The atmosphere of this place should be of excitement and fun with high music. So choose your destination wisely by asking your friends. For example choose hilly places where the roads are ups and downs. And walk all the way rather than hiring car.

This is the time when you can put on the weight easily by eating and relaxing. So choose foods with fewer calories and with more vitamins like vegetables and salads. If possible try to avoid any soft drinks because this contains carbonic acid or phosphoric acid which reduces the calcium from the bones and these leads to Osteoporosis.

Recent developments in the financial world have caused global stress levels to shoot over the moon. The problem with world economic problems, is that it has an almost blanket effect on the population of humanity, because everyone gets affected by it. This is down to the fact that the world economy is dominated by consumer capitalism, and all of us at any one point of time is a consumer.

From large financial firms to the shop down the street, less spending means less productivity, job cut downs, cutting costs, lower employability, a receding economy. All this are by words for headaches and hours and hours of worry. For those people who have lost their jobs, they are now stressed with stretching bills and mile high commitments. Their lifestyles have to change, they cannot enjoy the same things that they always have and they have to adapt to the crisis at hand. For those still at work, it means a changing financial environment, companies or business linked to them are cutting down costs and looking elsewhere for more competitive prices.

Competition will definitely go up, which means stress for business owners and bosses all over the world, price slashing and market imbalance due to lowering of costs will be an uproar for the status quo. All of this means a single underlying denominator – stress levels, physical symptoms that are a direct result to these increase tension, and of course there is the matter of depression and even possible corporate suicide. The good news is that the personal development industry has been around for a long time, and their close working relationship with medicine and science has spawned consumer level methods to combat these symptoms and give you a cerebral injection of happiness.

Leave your worries behind and you don’t have to get into complicated hypnosis sessions or see a guru in the Himalayas just to master the art of meditation. What you need to do is get subliminal and surround yourself with positive messages and thoughts, which will affect how you think and behave. The science behind it is quite simple, using affirmation techniques and below radar messages embedded into mediums like soothing music. What the conscious mind cannot sense, the subconscious can, and through this, it gets reused in the pre conscious and affects how we think.

It is like taking apart a computer and repairing the processing chip – by passing the software, going right into the hardware of the matter. This is one of the best ways to relax the mind and get it off negativity. With a positive mindset, anyone can pick themselves of the ground and start getting on the right track. Moping around and worrying is not going to get anyone anywhere and with subliminal messaging you can start your very own self revolution and rekindle your life. Just go online, do a bit of snooping around and get your hands on some subliminal messaging software. It has been helping people get over stuff like the credit crunch for some time now, and you can be on of them.

This article is the answer to this fantastic question I got – what would I do if I spontaneously reincarnated into the body of an obese, junk food eating, chain smoking, 50 year old heart attack survivor? How would I get that body back into shape as quickly as possible?

This is a fun challenge! Assuming I couldn’t reincarnate right back out of there I’d put together a program to rejuvenate it on 6 fronts and plan to do a solid three months work on it.

It would look a lot better in a few weeks but it can take a little time to repair that level of damage, especially in tissues that aren’t turned over as fast.

The body is probably dehydrated from all the fags and poor food so I’d start there. Obesity is often hand in hand with excessively acidic systems and dehydration so I’d start with a juice feast. Not a fast, a feast.

That is – for a short kick start period I’d consume several litres of complex green juices daily, made with a decent juicer. I’d focus on dark leafy greens like kale and spinach, anti-oxidant rich berries, and veggies like celery and cucumber.

General concept – do greens, veggies and low sugar fruits and make lots.

Start with a pint or two first thing in the morning and simply make more as needed. After a while of that to refuel, rehydrate and clean out the body I’d swop this around to a weekly day or two and increase the amount of solid food back in to support proper training.

I’m going to assume that the body is severely out of condition so can’t handle intense training so I’d start with rebounding on a good quality rebounder doing 3-5 minutes per session several times per day, preferably outside in fresh air whilst listening to the bodies favourite music, and work up to 45-60 minutes a day. These two things alone will make a huge difference.

Supplements. I’d add a good quality Vitamin C along with his medicinal mushroom intake (see below). The Vitamin C will help speed cleansing of the digestive system, repair the cell walls and adding MSM in there will help too.

Herbs. This dude needs a herb program. I’d start with a ‘three treasure’ tonic – Ho Shu Wu (also know as Fo Ti), Cordyceps and Reishi. I’d probably add garlic as well and Gynostemna to drink. Tinctures can go in hot drinks and will act faster but for shorter time periods, powders can go in smoothies or even used as a cooking ingredient in soups.

Once the system has been toned up some more, I’d get on a good strength building program to regain my lean muscle mass and boost Testosterone and Human Growth Hormone (HGH) levels back up.

In terms of programs the biggest return o investment will be a short, to the point strength training routine. Something like a short, intense 7-10 minute density program done 5 days a week will be fast and effective and leaves time in your training program to do some others things, like the rebounding and walking which will be easier on the joints for this dude.

OK, that’s a good start. Now I’d start with the mind reprogramming – you don’t get into that bad condition without an awful ‘inner game’ so we need to clarify his goals, purpose and direction so there’s a top level reason TO be and stay healthy.

Self-hypnosis also helps with the rejuvenation process and ‘d probably have the body learn that so he has ready access to the programming level of mind without the need for external hypnosis audios.

Then to round off the mindset I’d teach the body EFT or a similar meridian therapy and have it systematically clear all negative beliefs about itself, health, longevity and vitality and program IN new ones to take it into the future.

This will also help enormously with any lingering physical food or nicotine cravings until they work themselves out.

My Old Life, as I now call it, was complicated on every level. Spending most of my time and energy pleasing others, feeling I somehow had to prove myself. I was a busy Mum and a wife, carving out a career. I was a daughter, a sister and a good friend to many. All the while trying so hard to find that work/ life balance that had so far eluded me.

Unbeknown to me at the time, I was stretching myself too far. Taking on extra shifts, helping at the children’s school while racing the clock to keep the home fires burning.

My friends, family and work colleagues would often ask me how I managed to do so much? I couldn’t tell them I was questioning that myself, along with my sanity!! The happy go lucky person they saw was exhausted, emotionally confused and drained. I thought if I worked harder and smarter I could get myself back on track. Looking back now, it is funny how things work out. Trying to work harder and smarter pushed me to my breaking point. I was suffering from burn out. Go figure!

I needed a month off work to recharge my batteries while thinking about the direction I wanted my life to take in the future, and at what cost to my health?

It felt quite foreign to me; to be resting instead of ‘DOING’. after all I was usually running around managing everything perfectly before wasn’t I??

I decided my life was too precious to not enjoy it. My burn out had forced me to make some changes toward removing stress from my life. I needed some help to find direction in my life, so I decided to have a psychic phone reading to help me find the clarity I was needing.

This was to become my new life mantra! Here are some of the ideas I came up with to create my new life, to walk my walk, talk my talk and live by my Burn Bright – Not out mantra.

Follow Your Heart

Previously I had walked (or in my case RUN) to the beat of everyone else’s drum. I burnt out trying to live up to what others expected of me. I was not honouring myself, I felt disappointed for not following the direction my heart was offering. I decided to get to know who I was again. Taking time to find out what made my heart sing. I wanted to lift my heavy energy and discover what brought me enjoyment. I began to shine when I allowed myself to follow my heart and walk my own path.

See the Flip Side

I taught myself, one step at a time to watch my thoughts and feelings.

Rather than getting bogged down in the ‘drama’ learn to flip the situation/ problem. I chose to look at what benefits may actually come from this so called terrible situation. What opportunities may come after this storm passes? What does this situation actually make ME feel, rather than joining in on what everyone else feels, I learnt to take the time to have and explore my own thoughts and opinions.

It is not always easy to look beyond the problem at hand, or to hold positive thoughts when things seem to be going wrong.

Sometimes what seems like a bad situation can be an opportunity to make positive change. Be the change you want to see is a message that was frequently shared during my phone psychic readings.

Compassion verses Competition

Taking the time to stop and listen to someone who is having their own problems or difficulties can be a healing process for both parties. It is human nature to be competitive and at times feel the need to defend ourselves or behaviour. If we are too busy stressing over our own issues, we are more open to being competitive and defensive, often leading to being misinterpreted, misunderstood and at times creating relationship breakdowns.

We have all found ourselves at times feeling the need to compete against others, or sit in judgement of their choices.

Refocus your perspective, stop and find your compassionate side. Allow others to have their time to express their thoughts and feelings, while choosing not to become entangled in their energy. Once you start being aware of your thoughts and actions, allowing your compassion for others to be present, you will feel more positive within yourself. Meanwhile those you showed compassion and understanding will feel more validated. They will feel their problems, opinions and perspectives are also important.

I call that a win win situation.

Release the build up

When we live in overdrive like ‘my old life’, our heads are rarely in a state of clear thinking. Often feeling heavy frustrated and confused, we may think we have everything under control. Only to find ourselves juggling many unfinished projects at once.

Due to the lack of clear thinking, we often remain stuck in this never ending cycle of non achievement, often repeating the same cycle over and over again. I don’t need to tell you how draining that can be.

Find ways to de-clutter your thinking.

You will find yourself achieving more, using less energy in your progression, often finding yourself becoming more efficient in many directions of your life. There are no hard and fast rules to spring cleaning your mind, so take the time to experiment with a few different activities to see what works best for you.

The following suggestions may help, or find your own favourite activities that allow your head some quiet time.

Meditation, reading, gardening, walking, listening to music, spending time in nature etc. Are all great ways to release the build up in your head? There are endless ways to find this peace and quiet, start finding yours today.

Toxic Situations and Relationships

As you practise ways to simplify your life, you may notice some of the relationships and situations in your life, may very well be one of the areas that you need to take a good look at. For example – you may come away from certain people or situations feeling drained and totally wiped out. Take some time to recognise how good or not so good you feel when you around certain people or repetitive situations. Honour yourself by either reducing the time you spend interacting with these people and make a conscious point not to keep repeating unhealthy experiences or relationships.

Small changes to the way you feel about who you are and where you are heading in your life often bring big changes to the way you now handle things. You will find yourself attracting new and more like minded people and positive opportunities into your life.

Is Your Compass Correct

I was burning the candle at both ends while working hard to build a strong and successful career. Although I was enjoying what my work involved, I would often find myself feeling tense and stressed by the time I arrived at work. I found myself struggling to stay motivated and productive. I started to notice feeling physically sick each morning as I drove to work.

I could no longer ignore that fact this uncomfortable feeling was associated with my work. I learnt to be guided by my inner compass. I needed time out to create moments of peace. Moments to think about what was right for me, to feel what it was like to feel my own feelings.

If it felt right, I would do more of it. If it felt wrong, I stepped away from it, consciously distracting my thoughts and feelings back to what felt right. One step at a time guiding myself back in the right direction.

I chose to resign from my position and follow what felt right. Now I am not saying if you are having a hard time at work that you just throw in the towel and give up! Just take the time to ‘check’ your feelings before, during and after work.

Check for ways of improving difficult situations. Once you can identify what is not working you can then find ways to correct them and change. Affirmations are great for creating positive changes in life. Imagine how great it would feel looking forward to going to work each day and enjoying it.

Be Kind to Yourself

We all know that life has lots of good moments, and some not so good moments. How you choose to respond and react to the good and the not so good, will actually effect your future progression. If you take the time to enjoy what is important to you, you will gradually work your way towards achieving your long term goals. You will have the time, energy, $$$, relationship or whatever it is you are working towards.

The kinder you are to yourself and others, the simpler your life will become. After all, we are meant to enjoy life. Try it!! What have you got to lose?

Brainwave Entrainment All You Need to Know About Brainwave Entrainment Music For Meditation and More

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

“You know what music is? God’s little reminder that there’s something else besides us in this universe; harmonic connection between all living beings, every where, even the stars…The music is all around you, all you have to do is listen.” (August Rush)

We Are Living In A Sea Of Musical Sound And Vibration

All physical matter is in a state of vibration. Most of us don’t perceive the vibratory reality of the universe, or hear the sound. But it is there nonetheless. Those who have perceived this vibratory reality have called it by various names. Some call this primordial music of the universe the “music of the spheres”. Some call it “Aum” or “Om” and try to align themselves with it by years of meditation practice. Others call it shabd or audible life stream, the song Divine, the Word of God through which and by which all things were created.

The one truth behind the many different religions is that of “hearing” (not necessarily with the physical ears) the cosmic sound and following it back to the Source. A truly happy, meaningful life is the result of focusing our energy on the cosmic sound of music while living our lives on earth. This is the same as living our lives on earth while our mind is tuned into a higher level of consciousness than that of our normal day to day mindset. From this level of higher consciousness (divine consciousness, cosmic consciousness, Christ consciousness, Messiah consciousness) where we are in tune with the inner music we naturally flow in tune with the eternal love (deeper than mere human emotional love), and wisdom (intuitive guidance), and our life reflects the unique musical song we are at the core of our being. This inner music, sound current, energy, or vibration is the source of a truly spiritual life of which religious superiority or mere ethical living is a cheesy imitation (but that is another subject).

Our very nature at its core is a unique musical melody, as well as a spark of endless divine light, but our lives often reflect otherwise because we are not in tune with the inner whisper, the inner love, the inner energy and Spirit. The real “inner music” is vibrating throughout all creation, through all subtle levels, right up to the pure realms of Spirit which is our true home.

Although nothing can replace the cosmic sound and the genuine life changing benefits that come with it as it is intuitively perceived through our spiritual senses, nevertheless there are sounds made with technology which can be used as tools for starting us on this path of change and transformation. The technology I am speaking about is is called brainwave entrainment which is best exemplified in what are called light and sound machines which are devices used for entraining the brain to certain frequency levels by means of light and sound. Below I expound upon the “sound” aspect of this technology in the form of ambient music embedded with Binaural Beats, Monaural Beats and Isochronic tones.

Music with Binaural Beats, Monaural Beats, and Isochronic tones

Scientifically proven to improve your overall well-being in Body, Mind and Soul

The main emphasis of this website is that of experiencing inner healing and freedom through listening to binaural beats, monaural beats, and isochronic tones mixed in with soothing slow tempo ambient music, nature sounds, bells and chimes and so on. It is music for healing the body, mind and emotions, and also for freeing ones soul from the confines of three dimensional existence. The emphasis is not so much on lyrics and style as it is on experiencing the benefits from the background tones and frequencies which are embedded in the music. Different frequencies have been proven to enhance brain power, heal emotions, and, in some cases, free ones spirit to sore into altered states of consciousness.

To understand how binaural beats, monaural beats, and isochronic tones can improve your overall well-being at a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level a basic understanding of the electrochemical functions of the brain is necessary. Our brain is made up of billions of brain cells or neurons which use electricity to communicate with one another. The combination of millions of neurons sending signals all at the same time produces an enormous amount of electrical activity in the brain. This activity can be detected and mapped using EEG devices. Such mapping shows that the brain is emitting specific frequency brainwave patterns that relate directly to different mental processes all the way from wide awake and highly focused (beta) to deep, dreamless sleep (delta).

Following are the 4 most common brainwave classifications as revealed by EEG devices. The brain is a dynamic, living organ. During these dominant patterns, other frequencies still exist and there is no exact, single frequency that our brain operates on.

Frequency range Name Usually associated with:

13 to 40 Hz Beta waves Active, busy or anxious thinking and active concentration. Throughout the day our brains are in the beta range. At this level we are active, busy, and all our emotional responses are at this level whether we are depressed, irritable, angry, happy, glad, full of energy etc.

7 to 13 Hz Alpha waves When we begin to relax or begin to get drowsy, but are still awake and conscious (maybe at pre-sleep) we are said to be at the alpha level.

4 to 7 Hz Theta waves Dreams, deep meditation, hypnosis

Defining Binaural Beats, Monaural Betas, and Isochronic Beats

Binaural Beats – Binaural beats require headphones if you want to see results. Binaural Beats work by broadcasting two separate frequencies in each ear. For example, if you want to tune your brain to a 7 Hz frequency, you could play 200 Hz in your right ear, and 207 Hz in your left ear. The brain will compensate for the difference between the two and produce a third tone that will be exactly 7 Hz. This will result in your brain frequency being lowered to the theta level of 7 Hz.

Monaural Beats – Monaural beats are the opposite of binaural beats because the input is the same in each ear therefore you don’t need headphones but good speakers are always a plus. In the case of monaural beats the sound is the same on each side whether you use headphones or speakers, but the volume must be tuned precisely (not too loud and not too low) for the beats to be effective.

Isochronic Tones – These are sharper sounding than monaural beats thus they are more powerful in their effect on the brain and are believed to be the most effective of the three.

Binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones by themselves are not very pleasant to listen to. This obstacle is overcome by embedding these beats/tones into soothing ambient music, nature sounds, the sounds of bells or chimes and so on.

Is Most Brainwave Entrainment Music Dull And Monotonous?

One thing you will notice right away about most brainwave music is it’s usually made up of slow tempo ambient music, or new age meditation music, and sometimes classical orchestra music. And it is sometimes embedded with background noises such as static noises (white noise, brown noise, pink noise), or with nature sounds like that of birds, waves/ocean, rain, wind, thunderstorms, and also bells, chimes, flutes, and so on. In every case the important part of the music is the background beats (whether binaural beats, monaural beats, or isochronic beats) which need to be perceived by the brain throughout the recording otherwise it will be ineffective. All the other added stuff (ambient music, nature sounds, bells, chimes etc.) is only for the sake of making the background beats pleasant to listen too. If the music is very fast pace, such as in rock or pop music, or too loud the background binaural, monaural or isochronic beats are drowned out and not effective in entraining the brain.

As for brainwave music being dull and monotonous it depends upon your mental state when listening to the music. When your mind is in a hurry and in a distracted, scattered condition more than likely brainwave music will seem very boring and monotonous, long and drawn-out. But if you get over these “withdrawal symptoms” of your day to day frenzied mindset your brain will start to adjust to the new audio energy and in time it will become relaxing, as well as something to look forward to listen to each day.

Furthermore, when listening to some brainwave recordings for the first time some people may not only feel uncomfortable, but may even experience temporary headaches or tearing eyes. This is normal and not a danger. Some people are always very tensed-up and rarely ever experience a relaxed mental state. As a result they may feel some slight discomfort such as headaches when they physically relax and “let go”. It’s this sudden release and relief that causes a slight headache or tearing. These side-effects are only temporary and usually go away the next time you listen to brainwave entrainment recordings because your brain builds new neural pathways to accommodate the new incoming brainwave audio energy. For most other people, once your brain waves slow down to Alpha, you’ll naturally feel very relaxed and peaceful, deep down inside.

Ultimately, depending upon the musical tastes of each individual, one type of music may affect one person in one way, and affect another person in a different way. What may free one person mentally and emotionally, may depress someone else, or be completely meaningless and boring to another. While some music may free one person to the point of giving them an out of body experience, and/or to the point of enhancing their dreams at night and making them more lucid, and also transforming them into a more loving, gentle person; to another person certain music/beats may serve to stir up subconscious “junk” and previous bad memories which need to be dealt with and healed. Everyone’s brain is wired differently so it is unpredictable exactly how certain music, sounds, beats or frequencies will affect each individual. Some may be led to astral heights after listening to just one recording. Whereas for another person listening to the same recording, nothing may happen until after they listen to the same recording for 25 minutes to an hour a day for a few weeks. It comes down to being patient, prepared and receptive in consciousness, not in a hurry, not in a rush, but in a relaxed, receptive, humble frame of heart and mind.

Long-term Effectiveness Of Brainwave Entrainment Recordings

After several months of regular daily use of the same brainwave recording your mind gets accustomed to the stimuli and it becomes 2nd nature, giving the impression that the recording doesn’t work anymore. The reason is your mind is strengthened in once neglected areas as new neural pathways are created and adjusted to the recording. Working your mind with brainwave recordings is similar to working your muscles. After a time a certain muscle, for example, no longer seems to be receiving any benefit from the same exercise which initially seemed very effective. The reason is the exercise served its purpose in bringing the muscle to its present much more healthy condition. The only way to add additional benefit to that muscle is to change the exercise around a little. This will produce long-term benefits. Likewise your mind gets stronger with time as you listen to brainwave recordings, but it reaches a point where a particular recording which once seemed so effective appears to be doing nothing anymore. However, if the recording is changed around a little it will produce additional, long-term results. And just as having a variety in your exercise routine, and even a variety in your diet, is better for your body. So likewise you will receive long-term benefit, and a more balanced mind, by listening to a variety of brainwave entrainment recordings

For this reason some companies sell several CD recordings contained in one program with specific instructions on when to listen to certain recordings, and for how long, before switching to the next level of recordings. They do it this way so you receive the optimal benefits the recordings offer. And just as it is not a good idea to stuff yourself with a variety of different foods at once, or to exercise too much all at once, so likewise it is good to start with one level of recordings, giving your mind time to adjust to that recording before moving to the next level.
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain? ?requency following?response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

This ?requency following?response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ?ntrain?to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ?ind-tripping? enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.

We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person? starting position, entrainment can be rather ?it and miss?

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you?e probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

meditation music How Music Makes Meditation Better

Meditation music is music performed to aid in the practice of meditation. It can have a specific religious content, but also more recently has been associated with modern composers who use meditation techniques in their process of composition, or who compose such music with no particular religious group as a focus.

Have you noticed how music makes chores and other activities less tiring by the minute? Wherever you, music is being played, especially in places where wellness is being advocated for: gyms, spas, and meditation classes. Studies show that music has great effects on the mind and body. Music in general promotes ease, calmness, and freedom from sadness and mental and physical tensions.

But what has it got to do with meditating? Meditation is this deep devotional, mental exercise bound to improve balance and one’s spiritual being. It is often understood as simply sitting for a really long time trying to get the mind on tabula rasa (blank). But to make concentrating easier, some people utter mantras (devotional phrases) while sitting in silence and trying to find their center. Other practitioners use prayers beads similar to the Holy Rosary. Some gurus however consider mantras as cheating, since you rely on words and forget to fully focus on your own. But for those who just can’t do traditional meditation for hours in a solemn area that they too can’t find, there is also the meditation music. This is often referred to as instant meditation. But meditation music is actually so much more.

Studies show that music stimulates brainwaves and prompts them to go in sync with the beat. With faster beats, sharper concentration and alertness is promoted. With a slower tempo, calmness or a meditative state is being promoted. Music helps you go through the steps of meditation slowly and attain a complete meditative experience, thereby letting you fully benefit from the practice. Meditation music also promotes the creation of new neural pathways, allowing communication between both brain hemispheres and leading to what is called whole brain functioning. Meditation music also gives the brain the ability to withstand more and harder stresses. And by actively promoting optimism or a positive state of mind, depression and anxiety are kept at bay. But which music should you play while meditating? There are a lot which you can download online, but you should pick audio programs that are really designed for deep meditative purposes.

According to the National Sleep Foundation, 50% of middle age and older adults complain of chronic insomnia symptoms. As we age the majority of us will lose that wonderful night’s sleep that can help us get through the next day.

Many manufactures have chemical substances, dyes along with other irritants in their items. Imagine how this affects you as time passes even if you do not have allergies or skin sensitivities. For a minimum of 8 hours per night your breathing is just inches away from most typical products that could have low-level toxic compounds coming from processing the fabric. Give yourself a rest and breather easier. While you lie down in your bed, really feel organic cotton or linen against your skin through the night with no unknown chemical substances supplied in many linens.

Resting ought to be the body’s most reviving time. While resting, the body is trying to restore the stress we’ve put it through throughout the day. The very best restoration hours tend to be from 10 p.m. to 3 a. m. within a regular night.

All of us sleep in phases; phases of conscience by which the body reacts to as we drift in to sleep patterns that permit your body to attain various functions.

Stage 1: This is easily the most typical of the phases since it can be acquired effortlessly; such as when your manager has the weekly conference. Through the night, this is the first step; slipping in to your fresh, natural bedsheets and having a great cuddle on that natural pillowcase.

Stage 2: You can find yourself drifting right into a tranquil brainwave pattern with no eye movements. Respiration decreases and the body temperature falls a bit. Since respiration deepens within this stage, you should realize that the natural linens aren’t packed with a chemical substance process.

Stage 3: Inhaling and exhaling decreases much more and muscle tissues unwind. Slower wave sleep starts within this phase in which blood pressure level decreases, body’s temperature falls once again and muscle tissues now start to relax.

Stage 4: Probably the most regenerative, deep sleep phase and totally into slow wave sleeping. Your body is in regenerative mode composed of protein creating and hormone release.

After which there’s REM. Beginning 90 minutes into the sleep stages, REM sleep lasts from 5 to 30 minutes 4 to 6 times per evening. Twitching happens and respiration gets to be more quick and shallow.

While all of this is going on, it’s good to know that what you are inhaling throughout all this is all-natural. Manufacture’s applications of chemical additives are bad for our sleep process that is our most regenerative period of time we have for our wellness.

While contemplating what I would write about this week, I was reminded about how often I seem to ‘run out of time’. As any true blooded entrepreneur and a woman in service, I often ‘bite off more than I can chew” which I have heard my mother remind me of since I was a child.

Like many women, I have numerous obligations, fill multiple roles, and have projects with deadlines… all of which require the use of time… which I never seem to have enough of.

Many spiritual traditions do not believe in “time” as we know it; linear and able to be calculated, and that is a subject for a whole other article (or book!). Rather than waxing philosophical, I will inject a lighter note:

I love this story to which I believe we all might be able to relate (at least at some point in our lives).

A woodcutter, who is constantly exhausted by his frantic chopping all through the day, is afraid to stop knowing he has many obligations to fulfill. A friend comes by one day to talk with him about his exhausting work and to ask the woodcutter if he could inspect his axe.

After running his fingers up and down the blade, he advises his friend to take a few minutes to sharpen his axe; “your work will be easier and go more quickly”. To which the woodcutter replied, “I can’t… I just don’t have the time”…

How many of us have been where the woodcutter is? I have to admit that this is often a familiar scenario for me. The mind-set of the woodcutter is such that he cannot see the forest for the tree (pardon the pun). I can get so dug in to what I am doing and to what still remains to be accomplished within given time frames that I often fail to see that I have a “dull axe”… even when people point it out to me!

In order to ‘sharpen the axe’ what can I do to have more time to accomplish what I have committed to?

1. When awakening, while in that state before full consciousness, I can begin with connecting to my Deity and surrendering my day and all of its activities to Divine guidance

2. Although challenging for me who has “done so much on my own” (or so I think), I can exercise my trust muscle. Surrendering to Divine guidance requires trust.

3. Sometime before I start my work, I can engage in a spiritual practice; studying in the faith of my choosing, reading inspirational material, journaling, engaging in yoga, (or others), meditation, contemplation, prayer…

4. Throughout the day (especially when I feel stressed and under pressure), I can take a few minutes to leave my desk (or the place of my work) and intentionally return to a state of peace. 5 – 10 minutes outside in nature, relaxing with a favorite cup of brew, or playing my favorite music (how ’bout a little dancing?)

5. And let me not forget the importance of preparing for sleep… A review of the day’s accomplishments, and not what I didn’t do or that still remains to be done, in a state of gratitude for those accomplishments will develop my trust muscle. After all, this is a process!

I am sure you can think of ways that you personally might ‘sharpen your axe’.

Are you concerned about memory loss in you or a loved one?

Is there anything you can do about it?

According to researchers in the neurological field of science, exercising your neurons can minimize or help stabilize diseases of the brain like Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Alzheimer’s is a disease that shows a marked loss in cognitive ability, generally over a period of 10 to 15 years, associated with the development of abnormal tissues and protein deposits in the cerebral cortex.

Because the brain is able to self-repair if the right area of the brain is stimulated repeatedly, some of the symptoms of dementia can be diminished, allowing you a much longer period of “normal.” Brainwave entrainment is a powerful, scientific technology that can stimulate specific areas of the brain, changing neural networks and building grey matter, helping to keep Alzheimer’s symptoms at bay. In the course of dementia, if the brain is not stimulated to make new neural pathways and structures, the brain atrophies and the disease takes hold.

Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease

Memory loss that affects daily life-you forget information that you have recently learnt, you can’t remember important dates like your own birthday, and you keep asking the same questions over and over again.

Can’t solve problems-you just can’t work with numbers anymore, or follow a plan. Following a recipe to bake a cake is a nightmare. You can’t keep track of the bills or if and when they need to be paid. You can’t concentrate and it takes forever to get things done.

Can’t complete your normal, everyday tasks-you get lost going to the same grocery store you’ve been going to for the last 25 years. Playing crib isn’t fun anymore because you can’t remember the rules from one hand to the next.

Confused about dates, seasons, and the passage of time-you forget how you got somewhere and where somewhere actually is. You can’t tell the difference between spring and fall and you don’t know which one you are in right now.

Lost your ability to have a good conversation-you have trouble following the subject line and don’t know how to join in. You repeat yourself and struggle with the names of common, everyday things. You may call a bottle of pop, your purse.

Lose things and can’t retrace your steps-you may put your wallet in the freezer, and a package of hamburger under your pillow. You can never find your stuff and don’t know how to go back over your steps to find it.

Bad judgement-you make poor decisions about your money, giving a large sum of it to the paper boy, and you don’t remember that you need to bathe.

Mood changes-you are suspicious of everyone, fearful, anxious, and very confused. Not being at home in familiar surroundings, is beyond frightening.

Incorporating specifically designed brainwave entrainment recordings into a daily regime may exercise the brain and open up new areas that can retain information, making them your new default. The old areas of the brain that are devastated by disease, will atrophy even further, from lack of stimulation, and will not be used.

Alzheimer’s disease is still incurable, but the effects of the illness can be minimized or held off for a very long time, by entraining the brain.
