Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Brainwave entrainment alters your dominant brainwave frequency so that you can take your personal power back and break habits that are negatively impacting your life.
Habits are unconscious and compulsive. If you surrender yourself to something habitually, it can become an addiction.
Addiction is the state of being that enslaves to a practice that is psychologically and physically habit-forming, interfering with the functioning of your normal life.
For the purpose of this article, I’ll be referring to habit as just that, a habit, but I wanted you to be aware that habit and addiction are almost interchangeable.
When you change your thoughts and perceptions, which changes your visualizations, you can change your experience.
Changing your perspective influences your reality.
When you believe that bad habits are extremely difficult to break, take great patience and persistence, you are actually reinforcing those habits.
If you believe that habits are the unconscious reaction to pre-conditioned and programmed behaviour stored in your subconscious mind, and you think you cannot change those programs, which isn’t true, you actually strengthen the bad habit. Victimizing yourself won’t change anything but reinforce the habit.
You can change your thoughts and perspectives to adopt a beneficial belief that is opposite to these limiting beliefs. Instead of believing that bad habits are unbreakable, change the belief to, it is possible to break a bad habit. Bad habits depend on you to believe in them. You don’t have to believe in them.
When you change how you think, you open up another neural pathway in your brain-physically. This new pathway, then becomes a new network for your new programming. The old neural pathway, because of lack of thought or use, then shrinks.
Changing your mind then changes your experience.
You are in control of what you experience. You have the power to make the changes you desire.
Inspiration or Intention
When you decide a habit is negatively affecting your life, you must decide if you are eliminating it because you feel inspired to do so, or if you are trying to eliminate it because you feel that you just should, and intend the change.
Coming from inspiration, knowing you really want this change, will empower you as you change your programming. If you are coming from intention, you may want to thoroughly explore why you want the change, in order for your actions to be effective.
Being Present
Being present, really seeing your bad habits, what triggers them and what their reward is, in the moment, gives you the power to change them, in the moment, consciously.
Replacing a bad habit with a positive new habit takes consciousness, communication with the subconscious mind, and being in the present moment.
Brainwave entrainment helps your mind resonate in the frequency that allows you easy access to your subconscious mind, where, while in this brainwave state, you, along with your inspired intention, in the moment, can change or break your bad habits.
Entrainment allows you to recognize and take back your power, breaking your bad habits.
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain? ?requency following?response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.
This ?requency following?response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ?ntrain?to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.
On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.
Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.
THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ?ind-tripping? enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.
While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.
We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person? starting position, entrainment can be rather ?it and miss?
If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you?e probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.
