The creators of Sally’s Salon have made us a great gift and released the second part of the game most of us have enjoyed so much. Welcome to Sally’s Spa, a place where you can try your hand at giving your customers real relaxation and yourself have several hours of time-management fun. The game has all the great features of the first part – and much more.

Sally, the successful owner of a network of salons, hears that her friend Nell who runs a spa products shop is experiencing hard times due to the closing of a Spa Villa next to the shop.

Sally is willing to help her friend, and a great idea comes to her head. Guess what? Absolutely right, she decides to buy the Villa and start a new business. You are invited to share this venture with the girl.

There is nothing much to say about the story. But there is much to say about the game play. You start with Azure Coast Spa and will travel all over the world to ten beautiful locations, 5 levels each. In each set of locations (America, Europe, etc.) you are given freedom to choose where to go next. In each spa you are provided a number of stations, such as Sauna, Esthetician Chair or Massage Table. Later on the variety of stations will grow, and you’ll be able to offer your customers a Spa Bath or treatment at a Mani Pedi Chair. Each of the stations has its color which helps quickly distinguish customers’ requests, and each has its sequence of actions to perform. You first drag the customer to the corresponding station, then turn on the station, if it’s Sauna or Spa Bath, choose mask or bath bomb, if we speak about facial treatment or bath, clip fingernails or apply hot stones for manicure and massage. Most of the actions come as pop-ups which sometimes prevent you from setting the sequence of Sally’s actions interfering with your clicks. That is a bit irritating at the beginning, but as you play you get accustomed to it. After a customer has received all the treatment he/she desired, you go to the cash register and take your well deserved money. That’s the essence of the game play. But there is much more about it.

First, each type of customers has its peculiarities, namely, level of patience and tipping. For example, Fashionista is good tipper, but very impatient, while Athlete is moderately patient and an average tipper. Thinking whom to serve first can help a bit, for the amount of your tips also depends on the number of hearts your customer has when leaving.

There are also upgrades which are definitely worth dwelling on a bit. On the total you will have a possibility to purchase more than 65 upgrades for your shop, including additional chairs, station upgrades, pacifiers and treats, helpers and upgrades for Sally herself. Choosing which one to buy first can be quite a challenge sometimes, but I would advise to balance everything so that your spa would have all aspects developed at approximately the same level. Gradually you’ll be able to give your customers herbal tea or magazines, to fill your spa with calming aroma and move faster, and your stations will become more efficient. One great thing about the upgrades is that they are kept from one spa to another and you don’t have to buy them all from the start in each new location.

Tip: watch for recommendations when choosing upgrades – they are quite reasonable.

There is also one more service your spa will offer to its customers: selling cosmetic products of Nell’s Naturals brand. They help you maximize your profit once you select your assortment wisely. Demand for preparations for Split Ends, Stress, Dryness etc. fluctuates daily, so watch the market and make a career in this sphere also. AS your rank will grow you’ll have more options to choose from – and to attract your customers with.

On the whole the game play proves to be extremely addictive. I couldn’t make myself stop playing and write the review for you. Now you can join me in this fun, and I’m going to continue enjoying the game, its pleasant visuals and meditative music.

Have a nice relaxation!

The simple explanation of brain wave entrainment is that the mind is actively transmitting and receiving waves, literal electro and electo-magnetic signals, specific brain frequencies, and other energies yet to be measured. These waves are emitted at different frequencies depending on your particular “state” of mind at the moment. While sleeping you will find your mind operating at the Delta frequency, a slower, calming frequency, moving up toward to alpha, which are higher in frequency that Delta and associated often with meditation and dream-states, we move up to theta waves which are found in various degrees in different stages from concentration to meditation, beta waves are even higher in frequency, and this activity can be easily associated with us being consciously busy, working and talking with people, and finally into the gamma realm which is hyper brain activity and can enhance learning effectively.

I will repeat this in the binaural beats section, but it is important to know that these brain waves and verbal and scientific expression deal in absolutes when spoken about. Such as delta frequencies and Sleep, and each only occurring at one time. Do not get this false impression, our energies exist on a scale, there are frequencies in between the ones we measure as strongest and have the most obvious impact. But mind waves and activity exist together, both being produced at the same time, different states of mind and different attentions often rely on the mix of different functions, including brain waves, to effectively be executed.

The science behind entrainment is one which two objects or waves will synchronize with each other over time. The idea is like the pendulum of a clock next to another pendulum, over time they will move to match the swing of each other. Our brains work the same way, in which if we actively apply a particular wavelength our brains are more likely to move into that wavelength. These are proven and sound scientific principles and any research done will show you the beauty of this ideal.

So these binaural beats and brain wave programs allow for us to manipulate and enhance our brain wave functions to better utilize certain states of mind for the particular activity (or inactivity) at hand. That means aiding our brain to fall asleep, to pay attention, to meditate deeper and to more easily retain information. The uses are endless and there are few people who will not benefit from incorporating them into their lives.

The brain itself acts like a wireless transmitter, information that now scientists can capture, or “read” and directly influence technology and software. You may have even seen it, with peoples scalps covered in electrodes moving a cursor on the screen simply by thought. These are brain transmissions in progress, they are real and can be physically altered like any other natural property. A powerful tool when we can give ourselves such understanding AND control over one of our main process centers.

Binaural Beats

As you read the introduction to brain wave entrainment the idea was to understand the physical nature of our thoughts and brain power. Binaural beats provide a way to use two different tones to produce effects that alter your brain waves and can produce results, or at least encourage results, for specific needs you may have. I will explain some of the uses in a moment.

Binaural beats themselves work by, obviously state in the name itself, two tones. These tones are slightly different in frequency. The frequencies themselves must be kept below 1000 hertz in order for the “beat” effect, produced by these signals, to occur. This occurs because our auditory processing, which this technique is manipulating, “hears” frequencies as different tones, the spikes and dips of a frequency give a specific pattern. If this pattern, or beat is fast enough we perceive it as a pure tone, we are a musical note instead of a pulse. The frequency is simply moving too fast to comprehend a beat.

By keeping the two tones below 1,000 hertz and the difference between them less than 30Hz, a person will perceive the two tones, one received in each ear, as a beat instead of two separate tones.

This beat phenomenon can be used for brain wave entrainment, changing the difference between the two tones changes the frequency to correspond to a brain wave frequency, or desired frequency. So a slower beat to induce more delta brain waves and quicker beats for our theta waves and beta waves.

Your Benefits

Because the brain frequency type is so influential on our state of minds, we can easily recognize that having some control over these brain waves would allow us to function as desired at certain points in time and for certain reasons. To put it plainly, if you are having trouble falling asleep, we know that alpha and theta waves work together for increased concentration and study. So we find a binaural beat program, a program that companies have already made, did all the work and placed easy to understand tags such as “sleep easy” or “study aid” as the label for a particular beat and its benefit. Different beats can be mixed and matched accordingly as your needs and experimentation change.

Brainwave Entrainment Curing Your Insomnia Naturally with Sound – Binaural Beats vs Isochronic Tones

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

Insomnia has all sorts of causes and yours may be different from what mine was, but I’m pretty certain my own experience is quite common. You can’t get to sleep at night because your mind is racing. Most of the time I’d find myself lying awake in bed because I couldn’t get my brain to just slow itself down – I’d be awake thinking about the events of the day, or what I was going to do tomorrow or all of a sudden I’d get great brainstorms about new ideas and projects to do — most of which I’d never get around to doing because I was too tired all of the time.

One thing that helped was doing some meditation, especially guided meditation designed to help me fall asleep. But it didn’t help enough or every night, and I still found myself waking up frequently during the night and then unable to get back to sleep.

Since Guided Meditation did help, at least initially, I figured it was time to investigate this new-fangled thing called “brainwave entrainment”. Basically it is audio with a special beat, a pulse, that helps re-sync your brain. It is very effective at helping you get to sleep because as your brain syncs with the pulse, it slows down all the racing thoughts inside your head, allowing you to relax and finally get a good night’s sleep.

If you’ve also investigated some “sleep technology” on your own, you may already be familiar with the type of beats known as binaural beats. That’s the most common kind of brainwave training available.

I’ve used binaural beats audio myself, and just like the guided meditation, it did help me fall asleep. In fact, it worked much better than guided meditation on its own. The problem, however, is that binaural beats only work when you are wearing headphones. That’s fine for falling asleep and it’s usually okay just to remove the headphones as you feel yourself starting to drift off, but it doesn’t help at all with staying asleep. I just can’t wear headphones all night. So even with binaural beats, I still found myself waking frequently in the middle of the night and then not being able to get back to sleep.

There is another type of brainwave entrainment available though and it is called isochronic tones. Binaural beats use a different tone in each ear, but isochronic tones use a rhythmic pulse that turns itself off and on. The brain responds powerfully to the off and on rhythm and so isochronic tones are actually much more effective than the binaural beats that are found in most sleep audio products.
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain? ?requency following?response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

This ?requency following?response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ?ntrain?to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ?ind-tripping? enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.

We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person? starting position, entrainment can be rather ?it and miss?

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you?e probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

Every Christmas my sister and I would wake up at the crack of dawn and practically tumble down the stairs to find giant piles of presents under the tree. Mom and Dad soon followed…Dad with a sleepy smile despite how exhausted he was after working late at the airlines. (He was an airplane mechanic.)

To say that my mother went overboard buying presents for my sister and me is an understatement.

I can’t remember at what age the excitement over all the presents started to morph into another feeling…not quite as exhilarating. It was probably around 13-14 years old that I started experiencing an emptiness related to the holidays.

Looking back I think my mother had a hard time expressing love verbally or physically because of her tough childhood (keep in mind this is my “story” or “interpretation”). Buying us stuff throughout the year…and especially at Christmas was her way of telling us how much she loved us. She was emotionally and physically unable to lavish us with praise, attention and hugs…so she did it with money instead. The presents became a symbol of the love I wasn’t getting.

If you look at it from a Law of Attraction perspective, the presents became a symbol of the love I was focusing on not getting. I could have focused on the love I was getting. I’m not making myself wrong here, just stating that The Law of Attraction is all about focus and what you are giving your attention to.

So the real point of this article is…

Why Do We Over Spend?

Everyone’s got their reasons. For me…it’s a way of “looking good”. I want everyone to think I’ve got more money than I have…I don’t want to “live within my means”. I also am concerned that people might think I’m “cheap” if I don’t buy them a nice gift, even though it’s beyond what I’m really comfortable spending. For my mother, in my interpretation, I suspect she overspent because it was about expressing love in a way she felt the most comfortable with.

Here’s something you can do to really help you have the best holiday season ever without over-spending:

The main thing is to set some time aside each day to “get quiet” and think of gifts for specific individuals…from that place of love and authenticity within you. Listen to some soft, relaxing music if that helps you and set a few minutes aside for this meditation. Focus on your breathing. Once you are relaxed…think of the person you need to buy a gift for…and you’re not sure what to get them. See them in your mind’s eye. Think of how you could express your love or acknowledge them in some way. The idea of the gift may not pop into your head right away…but it may come to you when you least expect it in the days following.

What if you have to buy a present for someone you are angry at or don’t like?

It may not be authentic for you to buy an expensive present for someone who has drained your energy all year. So why do it unless it comes from the heart? I’m not saying to ignore them all together and start a family feud…but think of a gift that feels right to you (No, I’m not suggesting a gag gift, either…unless that makes sense to you in a loving way. Come on, the holidays are no time for the settling of scores…no matter how tempting).

I know I am more comfortable with how much I am spending this year than ever before and the gifts I am giving aren’t about the money. This year, my gift giving is about taking a few moments, seeing each person in my mind…and asking my “Inner Self”, what would I like to give them? What would be a gift coming from my heart? And whether that gift is $8.00 or $80…or zero dollars because it’s something I made doesn’t matter.

And as far as buying gifts for my kids go, in the past I have usually bought more than I am comfortable with. I realized how much I overspent year after year. This holiday, I’m spending “within my means”. And when my kids ask for extravagant gifts that my husband and I are not prepared to give them this year…we simply say…”Well, maybe we won’t have it for Christmas…but let’s talk about how you can attract it!”

The Epstein Barr virus that causes mononucleosis or glandular fever, has the ability to establish a lifelong presence in the body. In the majority of people a healthy immune system keeps mononucleosis in check. However some people get recurrent or chronic mononucleosis for weeks, months or years after the initial infection.

Chronic mononucleosis symptoms typically include fatigue, weakness, sore throat and swollen lymph glands. These symptoms can fluctuate from day to day, and week to week. Periods of feeling well are often followed by a relapse, as people try to resume normal activities or exercise.

Living with chronic mononucleosis can be a very worrying and frustrating time. Feeling constantly ill, worrying about money, loss of employment or study opportunities, loss of independence, social isolation, and getting little support are just some of the things you may have to cope with. For some people the future is uncertain. You don’t know what’s around the corner. You don’t trust your body. Will you get better or worse? Can you get help and support? Are there any treatment options? All these factors can lead to anxiety, depression and a feeling that your health is out of your control.

So what can be done in the midst of chronic illness to help achieve inner peace and happiness? According to spiritual teachers like Dr John Demartini and Eckhart Tolle, rather than worrying about the past and future, we can all be brought into the present moment in order to find balance. Always thinking about the past or the future can cause negative states of mind that distract you from the potential of enjoying a fulfilling life.

As bad as things get with chronic mononucleosis, we can hopefully find more comfort and joy in the simple little things in life. For some people with chronic mononucleosis who are bedridden, simple pleasures may be listening to music, audio stories, meditation tapes or hearing the birds singing outside.

For those who are more mobile, simple pleasures could be as easy as doing some cooking, painting, pottering around the house or garden, cleaning a drawer out, putting family photos into an album, finding an absorbing hobby or doing some meditation or yoga. Some people find joy in helping others – this could come from reading to kids, talking with friends and family, looking after animals or joining online forums or support groups to contribute your experiences and advice on chronic mononucleosis.

When I had chronic mononucleosis myself for over 15 years, my simple pleasures were things I could look forward to doing every day. They gave me a sense of accomplishment and pride, and I’m sure they kept me sane. Some of the activities that helped me were sitting in the sun everyday, enjoying a hot spicy chicken soup, relaxing in a hot Epsom salt bath, doing some daily yoga and immersing myself in books on health and alternative therapies. In fact it was during this time that I decided to study for a naturopathic degree and launch my career in a different direction.

For one of my very ill Epstein Barr patients, all she could do was lie flat on her back in a darkened room. Her eyes were so swollen and sore that she couldn’t even read a book or watch TV. Instead of getting depressed and sad, she focused on listening to beautiful music that would inspire and renew her.

Another one of my patients who was a teenager was isolated from her school friends and social circle because of Epstein Barr. She had terrible symptoms like a red, raw throat, extreme lethargy, depression and little or no appetite. Her mother kindly went out and bought her the entire series of the TV sitcom “Friends”, which they would watch together on the couch. Her mother says this gave them a chance to laugh and focus on something rather that the illness all the time.

Even with chronic mononucleosis, there should be many things in your life that you truly love and enjoy. Starting to reflect on your daily life and seeing if there is anything you can be grateful for is a good start. Enjoy the beautiful and special moments in your day. You might even want to write them down in a diary or journal, or photograph them.

I recently read an article about a female photographer Hailey Bartholomew, who embarked on a personal project called “365 Days of Gratitude”. Every day for one year Hailey took a single photograph of something she was grateful for. Her photos range from the simple delights of her favorite food, autumn leaves in her garden, shells on a beach, her cozy warm bed socks, growing herbs in her garden, her craft work, scented candles and images of her family. This simple daily act of focusing on the positive things in her day shifted her depression and stress to a mood of anticipation, fulfillment and joy.

Teaching yourself to be aware and appreciative for the little moments in your day, can enrich your life and make your journey through chronic mononucleosis that little bit easier. Life will always have its ups and downs. Being grateful for what you do have is a valuable lesson for us all to learn. Even when you are over mononucleosis, being grateful is a life skill that will never be forgotten.

As with so many other things related to stress, insomnia is both a symptom of, and a contributor to, increased stress levels. How do we break the cycle if we are in a stress-insomnia pattern?

The first step is to speak with a medical professional about your insomnia. Find out if there are any medical causes that need to be addressed by your doctor. Certain conditions can cause or exacerbate insomnia, and you need to know if that is what you are dealing with. A common example would be sleep apnea. Many people do not know that they have this condition, which can cause serious health problems.

If you have ruled out a medical condition causing insomnia, yet it still persists, you may decide that you do not want sleeping pills to be your long-term solution, as they have many unwanted side effects. There are other non-pharmeceutical approaches that can be very effective.

Valerian and Chamomile are two herbs that are readily available, inexpensive, and very effective in helping people relax and fall asleep. Valerian can be found in capsules wherever you find vitamins, and chamomile tea can be found in herbal tea section of your grocery store.

Caffeine: make sure to stop taking in caffeine in any form after noon. This includes colas, chocolate, coffee, tea, other soft drinks, and some medications.

Magnesium and Melatonin: Many people are deficient in magnesium, and supplementation can really help with sleep. Melatonin is a supplement that can also help with sleep. Take it an hour or so before bedtime.

Adaptogens: While people may have heard of the other remedies, many times they have not heard of adaptogens. Adaptogens are substances that help our hormonal system regain iits balance, and help us to handle stress better. They help us have more energy when we need it, and help us to relax when we need to relax. Ginseng and Ashwaganda are two examples of adaptogens.

Self-hypnosis and brainwave entrainment audio programs: Many people find that listening to these audio programs can help them to make the needed shift from wake to sleep.

All of these sleep inducers are considered generally safe, and do not have side effects. They have been in use much longer than modern pharmeceuticals have been, without causing addiction or dependence. However, please take a few minutes and always consult with a medical provider or pharmacist to check for interactions with other medications you are taking.

Brainwave Entrainment 6 Positive Effects of Brainwave Entrainment Meditation

relaxing music with nature sounds | nice relaxing music
Brainwave entrainment is a process that uses sound and/or light, to deliberately change the predominant brainwave frequency in your brain, with the intention of manifesting a particular state of consciousness or effect. Entraining starts within 6 minutes of listening to a session.

Meditation is a practice that uses concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement or attention itsel,f with the intention of increasing awareness of the present moment, reducing depression and anxiety, enhancing well-being, and promoting relaxation. A strong practice takes years to successfully achieve the precise meditative state that is required to achieve the benefits of meditation.

When you use brainwave entrainment to access the frequencies necessary for reaching a meditative state, you reap the benefits much faster… years faster.

The Positive Effects

1. When you regularly meditate using brainwave entrainment, you will have an increased level of GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid) which is major transmitter in your central nervous system. GABA stabilizes mood disorders. If you are not producing enough GABA, you will have high levels of anxiety, tension, not sleep well, have panic attacks and may develop epilepsy. Addictions to anything, be it alcohol or shopping, all have the common denominator of too little GABA being produced.

2. Meditation releases increased levels of melatonin, a hormone manufactured in the brain by the pineal gland. Its function is to create restorative sleep cycles. It is also a powerful antioxidant that can stop toxins in their tracks. Not enough melatonin production leads to illnesses like cancer, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders.

3. Meditative entraining provides a dramatic boost in the production of DHEA (dehydroeplandrosternone), a hormone that enhances memory, alleviates depression, and provides a strong sense of psychological and physical well-being. Not enough of this hormone causes the risk of diabetes, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, heart attack, obesity, and chronic fatigue.

4. Regular brainwave entrainment sessions increase the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that profoundly influences your mood and behaviour. Not enough serotonin is directly linked to depression, obesity, migraine headaches, insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, pms, and fibromyalgia.

5. Meditation using entrainment releases natural pain killers. These endorphins are responsible for your sense of happiness and are thought to reduce blood pressure and can help fight cancer besides alleviating pain. You get a pleasant feeling when you meditate and release this natural morphine.

6. The deep level of meditation you can achieve with brainwave entrainment, dramatically boosts levels of the human growth hormone (HGH). As you age, you produce less and less of this hormone, which decreases your muscle mass and bone density and increases your body fat, weakens your heart, and confuses and depresses you. Entrainment releases high levels of HGH, optimizing your overall health, rejuvenating you for longevity.

Many scientific studies have shown that meditation, especially when combined with brainwave entrainment technology, is said to have a substantial effecton the well-being of the mind, soul, and body.

Brainwave entrainment meditation adds years to your life, and life to your years.

Are you running on almost empty when it comes to encouragement, motivation and self-confidence? Has self-empowerment fled the scene leaving you drained, alone and discouraged?

You are not alone. According to a study by Gallup-Healthways, stress is spiraling upward as the economy continues its uncertainty. This trend began in the last quarter the 2008, continued through 2009 and fast-forwarded right into 2010. Over 21% of those surveyed don’t know how they are going to pay medical expenses and those between 30 and 55 years old are suffering the most and don’t know how they are going to make their next house payment. To make matters worse, personal support systems for encouragement and strength are also jumping ship.

The good news is you don’t have to be a victim. You can take control of your life by transforming your surroundings using Feng Shui principles and apply those same principles to your thought process – the result, transformed thinking, a return of self-empowerment and improved prosperity.

Courage

Develop the habit of courage. It takes a great deal of courage to see the problems you are facing and to own them. When you stop blaming others for being discouraged, unmotivated and deflated and stop seeing the cup as half-empty, you’ve taken a huge first step toward transforming yourself. It takes a great deal of courage to realize that you are in control and that only you can change your circumstances. Sometimes it is as simple as being grateful for what you have instead of being angry about what you don’t have.

Use a simple tablet divided into two columns and label the left column negative and the right column positive. In the left column list all the things that make you feel discouraged, unmotivated and apathetic. In the right column write down all of the things you can think of to replace the items in the left column. For example, you may be one of the millions that have had to take a pay cut. Put that in the left column. In the right column you can write something like “I am grateful I still have a job when millions do not.” Or maybe you can no longer pay for your child’s day care. You do the positive offset with something like “I am grateful for my neighbors, family or friends who can help care for my children so I can continue working.”

Support your courage by using Feng Shui elements. In the north area of your home or bedroom, place a small waterfall or picture of gently moving water, or the color dark blue or purple. This energizes the spiritual area of you home and life so you can draw on that courage that comes from deep within. Also, place a rock from the garden or beach, a semi-precious stone like quartz or even a decorative stone in the center of your home to ground your new found courage, making it rock solid, this will provide you stability.

Wisdom

Develop the habit of wisdom. It is through knowledge and understanding about what you are facing that you will discover how to deal with what is making you discouraged, drained and disillusioned. It takes wisdom to solve problems and regain your self-confidence, self-worth and self-empowerment. It also takes wisdom to unclutter your surroundings eliminating things and thoughts that no longer serve you well. This results in significantly improved positive energy in your surroundings and thinking so new solutions can enter.

Remove the stagnant energy in your life by eliminating all of the stacks of things, boxes of old memories and files of spent money and activities that no longer serve you well. This opens up stagnant areas of your life so you can begin anew. Once you’ve uncluttered your surroundings you are on the way to transforming your life because the next step is natural. Your body and mind will want to become aligned and balanced with your surroundings and shed its years of cluttered and outdated thinking.

You cannot live in the 21st century the same way you lived in the 20th century. New tools, uncluttered surroundings and new thinking are needed to help you shift your energy to be compatible with the energy of the new century. The typewriter and the dial phones of the last century gave way to computers, keyboards and cell phones that will soon be replaced by other more efficient electronic equipment like the new tablet. Creating and maintaining a positive flow of energy throughout your home and life is the Feng Shui foundation for transformation and creating a better tomorrow.

Resolve

Develop the habit of resolve. Make up your mind to do it, and then do it. Once you have decided to transform your surroundings and yourself, stand firm on your decision and make it happen. Don’t do it half heartedly or think “well I’ll try.” Nothing ever happens by just trying. Have you ever tried to pick up a pencil? You don’t try to pick it up, you either pick it up or you don’t. Once you have the courage to face your fears and the wisdom to sift through all the chaos and clutter to find the answers you are seeking, the only step left is to be determined, steadfast and do it.

To help you through this step, use an Intentions Board. It can be a simple bulletin board with pushpins. Hang on the board only three to five things you want to accomplish. If you want to live in your own home, put a picture of that home on your board, if you want to earn a certain amount of money put either the amount of money or a faux check representing the monthly income. If you want better relationships with your children put a picture of you with them having a great time together. If you want a deeper spiritual connection put a picture of a place of worship or something that might represent a deep inner connection for you such as a candle burning brightly. Hang this board in the east area of your home to energize new growth and positive change.

While you are in the process of making it happen, be sure to take some time for yourself. When exerting so much energy to transform your surroundings and your thinking remember to nurture and care for yourself. Take long walks, plan for downtime, listen to music or sit and watch the rain. Become more creative, pick up a paint brush and create on a canvas, write in a journal, knit, crochet, play the piano, meditate, pray or sculpt. This is how you create balance to regenerate your body, mind and emotions.

Also energize the northwest helpful people area of your home or bedroom by placing something there that is silver like a trophy or a motivational poster framed in silver with someone like Lance Armstrong and his Tour de France team or Michael Phelps and his Olympic Gold Medal teammates. This energizes your support system so they will be there for you to encourage you and help you stay motivated.

The result of courage, wisdom and resolve is a transformation from where you are now to where you want to be; self-empowered, in-control and living a more prosperous life.
