Don’t Let Panic Attacks Ruin Your Life.

They come on suddenly and can sometimes feel very overwhelming. If you’ve had one before, then you probably fear if or when the next one is coming. I’m talking about a panic attack.

Some symptoms are:

– A rapid heart beat
– Sweaty palms
– Difficulty breathing
– Dizziness or feeling faint
– A tightening of the chest
– Feeling a loss of control

If you have experienced these symptoms, then chances are you have had a panic attack and you might have one again. Fortunately, there are things that you can do to control the symptoms and help you get through the attack.

Try Relaxation Techniques
If you feel a panic attack coming on or if you find yourself in a similar situation that has caused an episode before, try some relaxation techniques to soothe your nerves. There are many different things you can do such as listening to relaxing music, taking a walk, reading a good book, closing your eyes and meditating, or something as simple as taking a soothing bath. Find something that helps you relax and make it a part of your daily routine and learn different relaxation techniques that you can do when you’re out in public to help with anxiety.

Take Deep, Slow Breaths
This is one of the fastest and easiest ways to stop some of the reactions that occur during a panic attack. Take deep and slow breaths. Breathe in through your nose and out through the mouth. You can even breathe into a paper bag if that helps. Close your eyes for further relaxation and focus on your lungs expanding and collapsing.

Focus on Something Else
Distracting your mind with something can stop or alleviate the symptoms during a panic attack. This technique will vary from person to person and you have to find what works for you. You can try counting backwards or think of a list of foods that start with A. Have some photos on hand that you can look at and think about memories from the pictures or imagine a place that you would like to visit.

Stay Active and Avoid Stimulants
Regular physical activity is helpful to release positive endorphins and soothe your nerves. It’s also important to avoid stimulants such as caffeine, alcohol, and cigarettes.

Talk With Someone
There is nothing more helpful than having a friend or family member who you can confide in about your situation. They can actually help you calm down and relax when you are having a panic attack and provide relaxation and calming words to make you feel better.

Try a Natural Remedy
It is a good idea to keep a natural anxiety relief treatment on hand, especially if you want to avoid taking medication every time. You can take an herbal supplement daily and during a panic attack. Some ingredients to look for are lemon balm, lavender, and passion flower.

There’s no doubt, that you can take a pill to cure just about any affliction known these days. That is, the ones that are curable. We’re not talking cancer and aids here. What we are talking about is insomnia, or more simply sleep disorders. I’m not a big fan of medicinal drugs unless absolutely necessary. An insomnia natural remedy would be my preference over sleeping pills.

Melatonin

If your traveling a lot between time zones, or work odd shifts, then Melatonin may work for you. It naturally occurs in the body, and is produced normally during the night. Even though it is an insomnia natural remedy and a normally occurring human hormone, it shouldn’t be taken without consulting your doctor. Some clinical studies have been promising in that they can find no side effects from short term use of Melatonin.

Valerian

One natural herb you may want to try is Valerian. It’s been popular in Europe for a number of years. Not a lot of clinical testing has been done, but the current theory, is that it works with GABA, a neurotransmitter known to calm people. A couple of the nice things about it, is that it’s not addictive, and won’t give you that groggy hang over feeling in the morning. It’s available in tea or capsule form. It takes a few weeks to really start working, and does have some side effects. Faint headed and dizziness are a couple of them. It’s not totally compatible with other medications, so check with your doctor before taking it.

Simple Relaxation

For those looking for the purest form of insomnia remedies, basic relaxation techniques should not be overlooked. Casual (and sometimes chronic) sleep disorders are often fueled by how we think. Basically an overactive stressful mind. Learning to manage that can be very beneficial.

Visualizing a happy time, can be a very powerful relaxation technique. Especially for those of us with a very active imagination. Beaches, waves, mountain tops, birthday parties, weddings, births can all have a soothing effect on us.

Mediation is simply a more advanced form of scene visualization, and can be even more powerful in getting you to sleep. There are various disciplines including Transcendental Meditation. Yoga, and Progressive Muscle Relaxation are two other stress relievers that should be explored

Soothing Music & Sounds

Are mind is very attuned to the sounds around us, even if were not always consciously paying attention to them. They can affect us in both negative and positive ways. Playing a relaxing music CD while falling asleep is one of my favorite good sleep strategies. Mom didn’t sing those lullabies for no good reason 😉

relaxing music Cosmic Ordering – Top 5 Things to Avoid and 5 Things to Do to Supercharge Your Cosmic Orders

Meditation music is music performed to aid in the practice of meditation. It can have a specific religious content, but also more recently has been associated with modern composers who use meditation techniques in their process of composition, or who compose such music with no particular religious group as a focus.

There is a magic formula for using the Law of Attraction and it’s called Cosmic Ordering. This magic process allows you to follow a laid out fool proof system that ensures you utilise the power of the Universe and receive your Cosmic Orders in perfect timing.

However there is an art and science involved in being the person who attracts what they want.

Here Are The Top 5 Things to Avoid:

1. Don’t hope – The feeling of hoping is weak. The feeling of expectancy is much stronger. Your Cosmic Orders are delivered based on the feeling you have about them already being in reality. The vibrational energy behind a “hope” or “wish” isn’t enough, vamp up your Orders with a vibration of positive expectancy. Make it so there’s no other option. Then your Cosmic Order will have to be because your feeling will attract it into being, quickly and easily.

2. Don’t be ungrateful – Remember you can’t see the whole picture and you don’t have control…you just control your response to life and circumstance. If you’re ungrateful, your energy will repel the possibilities waiting to lead you to your Orders. Be grateful for what you attract whatever it is and trust that the Universe is working full-time on your Cosmic Orders, because it is.

3. Don’t talk about your Cosmic Orders with people who haven’t discovered the natural Laws of the Universe specifically the Law of Attraction. If people are unable to understand your belief then they could attempt to destroy yours so that they still feel a connection with you. Protect your Cosmic Orders until you have a firm belief in the process then share it and help others with their Orders.

4. Don’t ignore or challenge the laws of nature e.g. gravity. There are some things that it would be physically impossible for you to receive from the Universe. Don’t set yourself up to fail by thinking about these. But remember though that there are unlimited possibilities available for everyone if they believe.

5. Don’t give up on your Cosmic Orders. Avoid this like the plague it’s where most people fail. Instead imagine your Cosmic Orders are your children. Whatever they do you support and help them through life. Support your Cosmic Orders and they will arrive in your reality. Never, never give up!

And Now, The Top 5 Things to Do:

1. Be specific – It’s really important that you believe in the Law of Attraction and your Cosmic Order enough to be specific. You want to lose weight…how much? You want more money…how much? Wishy washy Cosmic Orders let the Universe know you’re not serious about what you want and allow the possibility of your Orders missing the mark. The Universe isn’t a mind reader, if you haven’t worked out what you want then it’ll provide you with more opportunities for not knowing. Get real, if you had no fear and you were absolutely 100% certain you would receive it, what do you specifically want?

2. Tell a great story -Think of your Cosmic Order as like a great story or novel. Every great story has a beginning, middle and end. Write a story of your Orders, so the beginning is seeing in your mind’s eye what you want, the middle is you taking action and following guidance from the Universe and lastly the end is you thinking and behaving and experiencing the advantages of having your Order now. Wow, what a story!

3. Decide who or what represents your Universe so that you can feel comfortable talking to it and placing your Cosmic Orders. Some use the metaphor of the Universe being a cosmic kitchen and therefore you’d address your Orders to the Head Chef. You could address them to The Field of All Possibilities or Dear God, or Dear Angels…what works for you? There is no right or wrong, it’ll work whoever you address, so what feels best to you?

4. Be the person who it would make perfect sense for this to happen to, or receive this Order. Have the behaviour, thoughts, beliefs of the person who has this quality and Cosmic Order, if you’re being someone who doesn’t behave as if it’s for them, then you’ll repel it and it won’t be attracted to you. e.g. think of a woman who talks and behaves as if she doesn’t like men but she has a Cosmic Order for a fantastic relationship with a man who’s the best thing since sliced bread. He’s romantic, loving, sexy, handsome. Is she going to attract that sort of man? No, she’s going to repel him with her underlying beliefs about men.

5. Manage your mind – Your mind is the instrument, the power of your mind is what connects you with the Universal mind. This connection allows you to bring into physical reality what you want. Use meditation and relaxation methods, such as listening to music, gentle exercise and reading self-development or spiritual books to learn more about how it works and get in touch with its processes. Remember the thoughts aren’t you and with practise you get to choose the ones that work for you!

So you want to be happy. I knew it. The following tips are tried-and-tested, and I’m more than happy to share them with you.

We all know that our health is being affected by the degree of happiness we feel in our lives. The happier we are, the healthier (and wealthier) we get. So, starting now, make the decision to be happy! Use these tips as a self motivation exercise to help you acquire the necessary self motivation skills which will help you on your path to happiness.

Be grateful. Take some time to thank the bus driver for taking you to your destination safely, thank the mailman for bringing you your mail each day, thank everyone that helps you. It will make you feel different inside.

Laugh. Laugh as much as you can. Laughter is known to be the best medicine for everything. If you know a good joke tell it to your family and friends. Also, try to see the humour in your own habits. We all have some peculiar ones.

Exercise. Go to the gym, swim, play tennis or do something that stimulates the endorphins release in your body. By exercising regularly, you change the way you think and your body chemicals. You will also start to look better and be more confident in you and your body.

Leave the news for what it is. News is stressful. More than 95% of it is bad news, so why would you want to assimilate that?

Practice time management. Set your goals, plan them, prioritize them. By doing this, you will be able to work through and finish your list on a daily basis, which will help you experience happiness and contentment.

Work hard. By doing so you will create enormous personal satisfaction and it will help you have a sense of value about yourself.

Learn new things. A classic advice. Learning new things is an enriching exercise that will literally expand your world and create more opportunities for you in the future.

Express your feelings. Show affection and warmth to the people around you and in that let go of your fears.

Find spiritual connections. By being in touch with spirituality on a regular basis you foster inner peace and balance.

Help other people. This will give you a warm, energizing feeling. The more positive energy you put into this world, the more you will get in return.

Live in the moment. Instead of just adding days to your life, add life to your days. Keep in mind that the only time we really have is now – just this moment. Don’t let anything rob you of your life and happiness.

Don’t expect your future to be a certain way. By doing so you’ll be more content with what you have now – and this experience will continue in the future.

Take bubble baths. Relax, feel the warmth of the water, play some soft music – this will give you a positive feeling that will accompany you for the rest of the day.

Dance to your favorite music. It will make you feel more vibrant and alive.

Take a vacation. Vacations are rejuvenating and energizing. They will get you physically away from all the day-to-day cares of living and allow you to focus on things that you enjoy.

Look at the funny side of life. Look around you for funny things. They are happening, just look for them.

Make a choice to be happy. In order to be happy you have to intend to be happy. It’s just a matter of choice and it’s in your power to do it.

Quiet your mind. The mind is always flying around, constantly chattering, stirring up fears and distorting our perception of the world. Alter perceptions of circumstances by altering your thoughts. Rein them is, get still and get right with God. Prayer and meditation are powerful tool that can help you quiet and discipline the rumblings of your mind.

Push past the pain. Terrible stuff happens. It’s natural. But it’s in our power to push past these times. When your mind clamps down on some kind of pain, it becomes so self-focused it seems that the whole world disappears. But there is always more going on. Spring will come again and the sun will rise. Your happiness depends on your ability to liberate yourself from your small story.
Deal with your issues. To achieve happiness you have to confront the self defeating patterns that you have created.

Get rid of negativity. Sarcasm, cynicism, fault finding, jealousy, bullying, bandying about gossip, cruel words – you have to forget all these. When your immediate response to almost everything is negative, you have to push the stop button.

Know your worth. The modern consumer society dupes us into believing that to be happy we must live in a bigger house, drive a bigger SUV, be prettier, be thinner, have more orgasms… but it’s all lies. You don’t need any of these to be happy. Oh, they may bring you a temporary high pleasure, feelings of joy and maybe even ecstasy, but lasting happiness can’t be ordered from a Neiman Marcus catalog. All you really have to do is show up and follow your heart, because happiness is deeply personal.

Nurture your spirit. Happy people have a rich spiritual life and strong beliefs, and this positively supports their growth.

Act now. Do it now, get busy, become so engaged in living so that you won’t find time to feel bad. You will be happy.

Tell your close ones how much you love them. Do this often.

Have a cat or a dog? Stroke them often. They will reward you with positive energy.

Smile a lot. Your smile will make others smile. Always wear a smile. ?

Give lots of compliments. This will make others feel good about themselves and at the same time it will also give you pleasure.

Make small gifts to your friends. Giving is always more pleasurable than receiving.

On the same note as the previous tip, give regularly to charities of your choice.

Surround yourself with pleasant smells. It’s obvious that a good smell creates a positive state of mind.

Stay close to nature. It is beautiful and it fills you with energy.

Spend some time observing the night sky. Contemplating the distances and time involved will allow you to see your life and concerns in perspective.

Listen to classic music. It’s a relaxing experience that allows you to disconnect from the daily life.

Go to places you’ve never seen before. New things are always exciting.

Do something you’ve never done before.

Keep a diary or a journal. It will add structure to your life and it will allow you to easily revisit good times.

Look for the hero inside yourself. You are unique and very special, so you should respect yourself.

This way others will respect you too.

Take time to figure out what is important in your life.

Remember the times when you felt happy. Repeat the things you did back then.

Be thankful for what is working in your life right now.

Change your thought process. If you catch yourself thinking that things aren’t going to work out – think again. Imagine the best outcome and then get to work to make it happen.

Relax, calm down, take things slower.

Lighten up and don’t take yourself too seriously. Stress can cause many problems in your life.

Be yourself. Never compare yourself to the other people and don’t let criticism worry you – you can’t please everybody, and you don’t have to.

Have a relaxation or a quiet time every day. Five minutes are enough to strengthen you and to allow tension to evaporate.

Get a job you love. It’s very important to do something that you enjoy. If you hate or dislike your current job, seriously consider changing it.

Choose the right friends and companions. Get involved in activities that reflect who you are and get to know people who share the same passions as you.

If you’re feeling sad, there’s nothing like going out with your friends. I guarantee they will make you feel better.

Set goal and live up to them. It’s a great feeling when you accomplish a goal.

Be healthy. Exercise, eat a healthy diet and don’t forget to fulfill your spiritual needs.

Have a simple mental strategy towards life. Research suggests that happy people do this.

Listen to music that makes you feel good. Try something uplifting / upbeat in the morning.

Be honest with yourself. We lie to ourselves more often than others lie to us.

Get plenty of sleep every night. You need energy.

The true key to happiness is to be happy with what you already have. Never compare your live to that of the others.

This is the recipe for happiness. If after following it you’re still not happy, then you’re either a robot or an alien.

In the former case, advices don’t work. You should see an electronics engineer.

In the latter case, go home to your planet.

Have a smile and start being happy!

It is a well said proverb that “Great place to work makes great mind at work”. You all must have heard this but I wonder how many of you actually have believed in this? So, let’s know the actual fact whether great place actually creates great mind ay work.

There are few factors that actually build more concentration and bring more creative ideas and let’s explore them one by one through various examples.

1. The first example would be of the religious places like Church, Temple, Meditation Hall, etc. When we enter these religious places, we automatically start having the religious feelings and devotion towards religion and the reason is the place and the surroundings itself. Similarly, if the work place is organized in a manner that the first impression after its entrance creates the motivation and the enthusiasm, there is no wonder that you will work to the best with great mind at work.

2. Now let’s take the quick example of this article which is written in bullets rather than paragraphs. The readers always prefer reading small articles but when it is divided into points, it becomes easy for them to locate the interesting part and they are bound to read the bigger ones also. Similarly, if the office is unorganized and not well managed, the work pressure seems heavy and the creativity also dies within the mind. On the other hand, if the outlook of the office is well managed and organized in a structured way, there comes just one focus of creating more value to the work.

3. To support the saying, we will have one more example; every individual has various roles in his life. He needs to be a father, a son, a co-worker, a boss, etc. every day without any choice. And there are various emotional situations in everyone’s life which cannot be controlled at times; here plays the important role of the surroundings. For example, if the person is emotionally hurt for some reason and you play a rocking music, it might irritate him but if he knows, he cannot escape, he will start enjoying after sometime. Now, if the work environment is too professional and well organized, irrespective of the mindset and the situations, one build concentration and start devoting towards his work.

4. Surroundings and Structure also creates Confidence and Urge to follow the same level.. For example, if someone is working in a place which is well organized, beautifully managed and well disciplined, he/she will not just try but will make sure to adapt the full culture of the work place to meet the level of the organization. Now when culture symbolizes management, discipline and defined structure, so will the individual have. This in turn will enhance the work performance.

I am sure, the examples above support the well said proverb and accepting this, we should all make sure to implement the ideas to have just the great minds at work.

The scientific basis for the inherent human ability to program our own DNA has to do with certain esoteric studies by Russian Scientists. The human DNA is a biological Internet and superior in many aspects to the artificial one (world wide web). The latest Russian scientific research directly or indirectly explains phenomena such as clairvoyance, intuition, spontaneous and remote acts of healing, self healing, affirmation techniques, unusual light-auras around people, mind’s influence on weather-patterns and much more.

In addition, there is evidence for a whole new type of medicine in which DNA can be influenced and reprogrammed by words and frequencies WITHOUT cutting out and replacing single genes. Only 10% of our DNA is being used for building proteins. It is this subset of DNA that is of interest to western researchers and is being examined and categorised per the conventional science paradigm. The other 90% are considered “junk DNA.”

The Russian researchers, however, convinced that nature was not dumb, joined linguists and geneticists in a venture to explore those 90% of “junk DNA.” According to them, our DNA is not only responsible for the construction of our body, but also serves as data storage and in communication.

The Russian linguists found that the genetic code, especially in the “apparently useless” 90%, follows the same rules as all our human languages. To this end they compared the rules of syntax (the way in which words are put together to form phrases and sentences), semantics (the study of meaning in language forms) and the basic rules of grammar.

They found that the alkalines of our DNA follow a regular grammar and do have set rules – just like our languages. So human languages did not appear coincidentally but are a reflection of our inherent DNA.

By the same token, word language, especially the mood induced by our language reflects into our DNA. Continuous stimulation such as that induced through affirmations, negative or positive, reflect into our DNA which can either weaken or strengthen it. American Studies such as that of Gregg Braden and our own US military discovered how DNA reacts to emotions. (extracted from “Collective DNA Consciousness: Networked Intelligence” at bioenergeticspectrum.com)

Women will probably benefit more from this video than men. Unless you are male practicing chi kung or some other internal alchemy, Women, in general, are easier to change bioenergetically since they tend to be more in touch with their feelings and sensations while going through natural changes. A woman’s neural pathways are different from a man’s in this respect; this is her advantage.

I also happen to live by the axiom that it is the man’s duty and responsibility to keep their women healthy and happy; if their health and happiness fail in any respect, then it is the man’s fault. Most women suffer due to the slings and arrows of men even when they are well meaning. Outside of taking her through the nine levels of orgasm, neuro-linguistic programming will help shift that balance.

The mind is like time is like the mind. Like time, the mind is not what it appears to be on the surface nor in mainstream psychology. In the mind, we can replay a situation from the past over and over. We can predict an event from our past experience and intuition. We can even create situations in our minds that can be projected into any time frame; the mind is independent of the linear casualties of time in the conventional sense. Therefore, when we treat the mind, we must treat the mind within its own reality rather than apply conventional wisdom.

You might be saying, “What good is that information? That’s just the imagination. The mind is nothing.” Is that what you you were taught? Whatever ‘authority’ gave you this information is messing with your mind. Your mind is the most important part of you. Your mind is a living, breathing part of you. Your mind keeps your body together in the same way time keeps the universe together.

Further down to earth, let’s relate how the mind helps us: We can remember sensations and feelings; we can even project sensations and feelings in our bodies. These sensations can induce sickness or health, all created by our feelings and emotions which are very real. The way we apply those feelings and sensations depends on our state of consciousness.

For each state of consciousness, there is a different set of neural pathways throughout your brain and central nervous system. The mind accesses a set of pathways like a computer accessing a circuit for performing a set of learned functions.

As you know from learning as a child, it can take time and practice to open the proper neural pathways for coordination, quick reflexes and dexterity, mentally and physically. When you’re at work, reading a book, playing at a sport, or paying attention to a particular person, each time, each function accesses a different set of neural pathways throughout your nervous system.

Some important tasks take complete, intense focus such as when studying for an exam or when learning a musical instrument. For example, You need both halves of your brain for logic and creativity in application of an ambidextrous function such as playing music. It has been found the corpus callosum, the neural interface between the brains, is much larger in musicians, martial artists, some scientists, and some performing artists because of the increased sets of ambidextrous neural pathways between logic and creativity. The corpus callosum is larger in females.

Practicing mental dexterity opens further neural pathways. In fact, multiple mentalities can be trained as proved by Harry Kahne, master of multiple mentalism. He was able to write upside down and backwards with hands and feet while simultaneously doing arithmetic in his head and reciting poetry.

I need you to pay attention to these strange facts. You see, you’re not different at all from the kind of people mentioned so far. You have all the tools that they have: The ability to open new neural pathways with positive functions. We are all born with primal functions that we need for survival. The secondary functions are through education and culture. You have learned positive secondary autonomic functions to get you through life and you’ve probably done them well. You are still accomplished, perhaps, not to the degree of an Einstein or a Mozart, but you want to do even better. That’s why you’re here.

The problem is that there are unwanted secondary autonomic functions (aka, emotional baggage) that accumulated over time that you probably wish you didn’t have like anger, anxiety, depression, and stress reactions. These ‘negative’ neural pathways like all other neural pathways contain their own sets of logic or critical faculties – especially when they are deeply imbedded in the personality. There is no amount of reasoning and logic from psychoanalysis that can bypass this mechanism. As I mentioned, the mind is independent of the constraints of conventional wisdom such as the linear casualties of time.

Therefore, we must induce a state of consciousness that relaxes the critical faculties set forth by the “logic” of the person in question. Before we can “rewire” a new set of neural pathways for positive functions we have to bypass the critical faculties that deny you your ability to adapt and empower your self. We have to induce a trance.

We all go into a trance to varying degrees. We can be focused on a person, place, or thing and shut out all other outside stimuli. We all experience a trance state between sleeping and waking. These are the best times for learning and inducing positive traits through affirmations or similar. When you are in a trance another person can help guide you to induce more useful neural pathways.

I have a friend with an ability to tune into a person and become them by changing her neural pathways to match theirs – even if that person is fictional. She told me that the best way to reach a person is through their own feelings and logic. Since I am not there in person, the next best thing I can do for you is by showing you the kind of power you possess through your own experience. Please follow the video on HealingMindN Meditation. And remember, time is like the mind; it shapes itself to your reality.

Serotonin is known as the “well-being” or “self-esteem” chemical. It is a neurotransmitter that helps to regulate motor control, mood, sleep, appetite, pain awareness, attention, motivation, optimism, relaxation, and security, as well as regulating other neurotransmitters.

Serotonin-activating medications are used to treat depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), migraines, PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome), alcohol abuse, personality disorders, aggression, high blood pressure, and some sex and sleep disorders.

All forms of abuse (e.g., physical, sexual, verbal, mental, emotional) can cause extreme chemical imbalances in the brain, including reduced serotonin activity. And excessive melatonin (which helps us sleep) can lead to a decrease in serotonin.

Because serotonin is essential to our feelings of well-being, we tend to self-medicate when we are not feeling well emotionally. Some of the typical ways we do this are through the use of alcohol, simple carbohydrates (e.g., sugar, white flour), marijuana, and OCD behaviors. If the idea of OCD as a source of well-being surprises you, the answer lies in the repetitive action, which seems to stimulate serotonin activity.

Fortunately, there are a number of healthy ways to boost serotonin activity without resorting to medications, although SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) can be quite helpful at times. Without going into the science behind each of these items, I offer you a quick and easy list. (You can do the research online and in medical and psychology journals if you’re interested in the background.)

Eat right: complex carbohydrates (whole grains, nuts and seeds, fruit and vegetables, legumes) and proteins (lowfat milk and cheese, eggs, poultry, fish, red meat, tofu)
Spend more time in nature: fresh air, gentle breeze, sunshine, water, earth, plants)
Get some exercise: especially yoga, walking, ballroom dancing
Listen to music: especially gentle classical, folk, soft rock, easy-listening (hard rock boosts dopamine, an excitatory neurotransmitter)
Write in your journal: especially about your feelings about life events
Indulge in art: drawing, painting, sculpture, dancing, playing a musical instrument, writing poetry, crafts (focus on expressing your feelings in your art)
Avoid TV for awhile
Meditate, pray and/or join a spiritual group
Work with a mental health therapist
Change your thoughts and beliefs
Relax
Breathe
Restore balance in your life
Try herbs: St. John’s Wort, licorice root, Siberian ginseng (make sure you’re not allergic or they don’t react with a drug you’re already taking)
Get involved in some repetitive action: walking, bicycling, knitting, chewing gum, playing drums, etc

Print out this list and use it as a simple cheat sheet for taking back your power and increasing your quality of life.

The treasures inside are infinitely greater than the scraps of the material world –

Eckhart Tolle

Before I sat down to write this, I was on the sofa with my eyes shut. As I lay there, relaxing and enjoying what I can only describe as a magnificent moment, I thought of a way to make it better.

Laughing, I called to my partner and asked if she could help me. When she came in, I told her about my moment and my idea to make it better.

It was simple – all I wanted to do was share it with her and seal it with one a hug.

Soppy?

Maybe! But I’m mentioning this to you for a reason. Let me explain.

It is all too easy to take life for granted and miss a moment of joy we could be having right now. Because of that, we also miss the opportunity to make it even better.

We get busy. We focus on ‘arriving’ and forget about the journey. We work, wash the car, do the dishes, iron, clean, shop; always filling the moment, yet forgetting to ‘be’ in the moment.

It’s about bringing our awareness into the conscious moment – the moment where life is – and putting all our attention on that, and what is unfolding.

Earlier in the year, I wrote about immersing ourselves in the experience of the things we most want, be that money, happy family, health, life purpose, successful business. What I’m talking about here is getting to know these subjects well and evolving that mental understanding into our current situation.

In the context of this email, when I’m talking about money, family, health etc., I’m not actually talking about the ‘material’ aspect of it. I’m talking about the inner experience your having.

By understanding money we get to understand our self better. The same is true of health, relationships and everything else in life.

I think it’s fair to say we all want happiness. And although we all have the potential to be happy right now, many of us are not. Most of us are probably okay, but know we could take it up a notch; others, thought they’d maxed out, and, yet, still seem to find other ways to top their bliss.

Whatever your situation right now, try this little experiment.

On a scale of 1-10 where are you in happiness?

What could you do right now to move your level of happiness up one notch?

I love writing these messages to you. When I write them, I find music takes me up that notch. I get right inside it and then I shrink the world down to the experience of writing from the heart, while tapping the keys.

This weeks choice of song is about being unappreciated. When I listened to it, it made me think about all the things I might take for granted. It was interesting that most of these things related to other people and me and had little to do with material things.

Here are some other in the moment things I do:

Fall backwards on my bed. To take it up a notch, I bounce and sighing as though all my just came true! Do I appreciate this moment – you bet!

I Roll up in the duvet. To take it up a notch I allow my body time to experience the comfort and softness

Run water on my hands. Experience the temperature and the feel of the water. Then I splash it on my face.

Meditate. I love the bit where my mind chatter gives over to silence

Give some of these things a go, and think about your own list!

With Love and very good wishes

Neil

Brainwave Entrainment Your Energy Stamp

Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

In one of the Star Trek: Next Generation episodes, an alien mispronounces Data’s name as dah-tah. Data corrects him, saying that his name is pronounced as day-tah.

“What’s the difference between calling you day-tah or dah-tah?” asks the alien.

“One is my name”, Data states simply yet eloquently.

Sound is a powerful vibration that affects us either to our benefit or detriment. Just as the energy of the planets when you were born created an energy stamp upon you, influencing how you are in the world, so does the energy stamp of your name influence you.

For example, the sound of a loud car, a barking dog, or an explosion can put the human body into instant alert – flooding it with adrenaline, moving all conscious thought into the reptilian portion of the brain (the area of Fight or Flight consciousness), and moving all blood into the parts of the body needed to support fight or flight (muscles, heart, lungs). While a single occasion of these sounds may protect a person from harm, when they’re continual the effect on the human body is very detrimental. The long-term stress of harsh sounds on the human body can cause diseases such as Fibromyalgia, ulcers, high blood pressure, and more.

Contrarily, the sounds of Baroque music, with its beat slow as the human heart at rest, eases and soothes the human body. A cat’s purring at 45hz to 60hz, which is the same as Delta brainwave state, puts a human into a deeply relaxed state. Sounds of these types can actually promote healing of the human body.

You hear your name several times a day. It grabs your attention when you hear it. Each time you hear the sound of your name, you’re immersed in the energy of it. Is it a jarring sound or does it comfort and soothe you?

If your name feels comfortable to you, then either you’re one of the lucky ones who were named correctly at birth or you changed your name at some point. Many people change their proper birth name to a shortened version, which feels more comfortable to them. I changed mine from my birth name of Kathleen, which I intensely dislike, to Kathy, which feels better to me. Some people completely change their names, like my friend Dakara who changed her name from Wendy – a name that may have suited her when she was a child, but definitely didn’t suit her as she took on her empowerment.

Why is having the correct name so important? Because the energy of it either supports you in the experiences you’re having this lifetime and enhances your learning OR it has the opposite effect, making your journey more difficult and burdensome.

Having the wrong name – one that you dislike or that just doesn’t feel right – means that either you need to grow into the energy of your name OR you have outgrown it and now need to adopt a name with more appropriate energy OR you were simply misnamed at birth by your parents.

If you’re completely comfortable with you name, honor it. When others mispronounce it gently correct them. Once a friend named David phoned me and when I answered he said, “Hi Kath.” I replied “Hi, Dave”. There was a pointed moment of silence and then he quietly said, “Message received.”

How do you feel about your name?

If you’d like to change it but don’t know how or what, here’s a couple of suggestions:

Consult with a numerologist. They can help you define the name using numbers and their frequency.
Ask your spirit guides for your soul name. It may come to you all at once, or like my friend Dakara, it may come one syllable at a time.
Ask your friends what name they think would be most appropriate for you. After all, how many times have you met people and think they look like they should be named something entirely different?
Brainwave entrainment is a method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the brain? ?requency following?response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat.

This ?requency following?response of brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will ?ntrain?to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure.

On the positive side, this same mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states; such as a trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain state.

Brainwave entrainment works for almost everyone. It is a great way to lead your mind into states that you might usually have difficulty reaching, allowing you to experience what those states feel like.

THE HYPE
There is a lot of marketing hype around brainwave entrainment. It is sold with promises of increasing IQ, promoting weight loss, ?ind-tripping? enhancing creativity, concentration, inducing spiritual states and more.

While these claims are not entirely true, they are not altogether false either. In practice, the claims are based on an overly-simplistic view of how the brain and the brainwaves function.
THE RUB
People are very seldom deficient in a certain brainwave type in all areas of their brain. Usually the distribution is much spottier, with an excess in one area and a deficiency in another.

We are all different, especially when it comes to the distribution of our brainwaves. Boosting a certain brainwave state may be beneficial for one person, and emotionally uncomfortable for another. Without knowing each person? starting position, entrainment can be rather ?it and miss?

If brainwave entrainment leaves you with unwanted side-effects (see below) or discomfort, you?e probably encouraging a range of brainwaves that are already excessive in some area of your brain. The way around this is to get a brain map to see what your brain? strengths and weaknesses are, and see what (if any) brainwaves could use some encouragement.

If you suffer from certain medical conditions or just want to treat your body to an all-over healthy experience, then far infrared sauna therapy is for you. Infrared saunas use a special type of light wave to penetrate and warm the core of the body, safely and naturally promoting health in as little as 20 minutes a day.

Infrared sauna therapy requires regular sessions. Ideally, a person would use a sauna daily to see the best results. The first few sessions should last no more than 30 minutes, working toward eventual 50-minute sessions. Of course if you are pressed for time a short session of even 20 minutes is beneficial. You should consult a doctor before undergoing therapy to make sure you don’t have any health conditions that prohibit sauna use.

Infrared saunas help our bodies detoxify themselves. The skin is an eliminative organ, but is largely underused in most people. All of us are exposed to chemicals every day that are absorbed into our skin. Laundry detergents, body lotion, deodorants, air pollution, unhealthy preservatives in food, and even rays from the sun all leave traces of toxic chemicals and metals in our bodies. The skin’s natural function is to help us get rid of this excess, but it often isn’t effective enough on its own. Infrared saunas help our skin do its job. Inducing perspiration in a sauna regularly purifies our bodies and carries away traces of chemicals like nickel, sodium, copper, and so on.

Infrared sauna therapy is useful for improving circulation. Blood vessels expand, lowering high blood pressure and improving health in people with heart conditions. Research shows that regular infrared therapy enables heart patients to live longer. Poor circulation is the root of many health problems and discomforts. Even headaches can be traced back to poor blood flow.

With better circulation comes healthy weight benefits, as well. Infrared saunas induce perspiration. Sweating is work for the body, so the heart rate increases. When the heart rate goes up, the body is getting cardiovascular exercise and is burning calories. A single session can burn 500 calories. For those who aren’t healthy enough for strenuous physical activity, infrared sauna therapy can be a good alternative. Lots of people use infrared saunas to help manage their weight in a safe and natural way.

Stiff joints and sore muscles are relaxed in an infrared sauna. Athletes or exercisers will appreciate rejuvenating in a sauna after an intense session. They will be able to rest their mind at the same time that their tense or sore muscles are recovering and relaxing. If the soreness is a result of illness or injury, people can still benefit from infrared saunas. Pain-related conditions like arthritis, bursitis, and myalgia are all alleviated by infrared sauna therapy. Even menstrual cramps are assuaged in an infrared sauna.

Infrared sauna therapy is also a great stress reliever. Scheduling regular time to relax in a sauna does a great deal for your mental well-being. You can use your time in the sauna to meditate, relax, or listen to soothing music. Infrared sauna therapy has great relaxation benefits and improves mood. We all feel better after spending time in the sunshine, which is very similar to infrared light. This is because of the absorption of all the healthy infrared waves. Saunas have even been suggested to improve conditions like mild depression.

Far infrared sauna therapy is a safe and natural way to detoxify your body, increase blood flow, relax tense muscles and joints, and relieve stress. By using the unique properties of infrared radiation to our advantage, we can enjoy all these benefits every time we step into an infrared sauna.
