Meditation music is music performed to aid in the practice of meditation. It can have a specific religious content, but also more recently has been associated with modern composers who use meditation techniques in their process of composition, or who compose such music with no particular religious group as a focus.

Do you get the feeling like you want to rewind your weekend when it’s Sunday night? Would you rather put hot forks on your eyeballs instead of getting up and going to work on Monday?
Well it sounds like you may have a bad case of the “Fun Sucker Boss” syndrome. Just staying motivated to do everyday tasks can be difficult but when you have a boss that has the fun vacuum over your head every day, well now it’s time to skill up, grab your motivational ninja stars and battle that boss!
So there is great news: staying motivated when your boss is a fun sucker doesn’t have to be AS challenging anymore. With the right tools and maybe a good stretch (you don’t want to pull a muscle in case you are forced to do a high kick, which we call Plan B) you can once again feel motivated to command and conquer!
We are going to share with you 5 tools that we have used and have had enormous success with in the past. The idea is to apply these on a daily basis. Make a habit by focusing on JUST these for the next 30 days and maybe, just maybe your boss will turn off their fun sucker vacuum.
So let’s kick this off with a FANTASTIC quote:
“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” – Leo Tolstoy
5 Tools to Stay Motivated
1. Read or listen to people that motivate you.
Now we all have certain people that just get us going. They have a knack for raising the hair up on our necks or giving us goose bumps when they deliver a certain message.
This is what you need, kinda like a shot of motivational adrenaline first thing in the morning and right before bed. For optimal effectiveness you need to be consuming this information in 2 to 3 different ways. First you should read. Now we don’t mean a novel but at least 10 to 20 minutes a day.
Pick your favorite blog or better yet pick up a great book and read a chapter a day. Our suggestions are:
• The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard
• The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change (25th Anniversary Edition) by Stephen Covey
• Achieve Anything In Just One Year: Be Inspired Daily to Live Your Dreams and Accomplish Your Goals by Jason Harvey
These are just some that you can pick up on Amazon (pretty darn cheap if you do an eBook). The best part is if you do an eBook you can read it just about anywhere and you don’t have to worry about forgetting your book!
Then there is audio/video. Now this is up to you but we go back and forth on these. We LOVE video because it really helps you feel more connected with the person delivering the message. What we like to do is listen to a podcast on the way to work in the morning. Then when you are at home in the evening you can watch a video. Our suggestions for Podcasts and videos are:
Brendon Burchard
Tony Robbins
Joyce Meyer
Dave Ramsey
John C Maxwell
Simon Sinek
These podcasts and videos last anywhere between 5 or so minutes to around an hour. We usually just pick and choose what we have time for. After a while though, you will make time to watch and listen to the ones that make the biggest difference.
2. Seek out peers in similar roles.
The reason for doing this is to connect with others and see what does or doesn’t help motivate them. The more we are connected with people that strive for better the more we will strive for better.
So where do we find these peers? Work can be a great place to start. If you can get others around you involved in sharing what is either broken with their motivation or what is helping them, then everyone can grow.
Remember that at work that fun sucking boss is probably affecting many others than just you. So here are some other suggestions other than just your workplace:
Facebook Groups
LinkedIn Groups
Online Forums (search Google for forums in your industry)
Use these to get started. Once you get your toes wet the world of connecting with others opens up pretty rapidly. Connect with these groups AT LEAST once per day. The purpose is to keep the motivation wheel moving.
In the beginning we do this by learning new tools, tips and techniques. We keep it going by helping others. So keep those relationships open and fresh!
3. Read scripture, for people of faith.
We LOVE reading scripture and applying it to our daily lives. Our faith is what guides us daily. So we like to share this one because of the massive impact it has on us each and every day.
Same as listed in number one, you can consume this in 2 to 3 different ways. To find scripture there are MANY different websites you can find that share it by subject or you can just pick up your bible. (Digital ones are available too!)
What we are going to do is list a couple of verses that DIRECTLY apply to this subject and the songs/videos that go along with them.
There is a Christian radio station that is called KLOVE. They have something they call the “30 day challenge”. They say if you listen to Christian music for 30 days your attitude, perspective and overall motivation will improve dramatically.
K LOVE radio station
Colossians 3:23 – “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” Here is a video of the song that applies: Stephen Curtis Chapman-Do everything. (Search on YouTube)
Ephesian 6:7 – “With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men,” Here is a video of the song that applies: Unspoken-Start a fire.
So apply this 30 day challenge as part of motivation mastery to help achieve your goal!
4. Become Centered
Becoming centered is a term that is highly over used and very misunderstood. It is something that most people relate to relaxing. Relaxing is just a side effect of becoming centered. When you attempt to become centered what you are really trying to do is connect with your inner self and the thoughts that you choose. When you choose the right thoughts and center ALL your attention on those thoughts, it gives you an extremely high level of clarity.
I read something Tony Robbins once wrote about why people over eat, or why people are alcoholics. He said that people use these “vehicles” as a transportation method to escape their crazy, chaotic day. We all have experienced this unbearable stress level, and honestly most of us experience it daily. He says that the escape actually helps us relax. With alcohol it’s the chemical effect that does it. With over eating, all the blood rushes to our stomachs which causes us to relax.
Well instead of growing larger and larger or drinking yourself to death, re-center yourself. Concentrate on what makes you happy and what your purpose is. (we will get to your “purpose” in the next point) When you are relaxed and centered you become more focused on your purpose. When you are focused on your purpose you have better clarity of your goals.
See how all this all ties in together? It’s like playing dominoes with your thoughts towards becoming more positive. One will eventually lead to the next and so on.
When your focus is on your goals, the fun sucker boss is nowhere in your sites, only your purpose is. In the end our goals and our purpose is what keeps us motivated.
Becoming centered can be done in MANY different ways but here a few that you can choose from to get you started.
Now you only need to start off with around 5 to 10 minutes of this a day and ultimately you should build up to around 20 minutes per day to achieve the full effectiveness.
Listen to relaxing music, without words: Pandora has a station called “Calm Meditation Radio” (I’m actually listening to it right now as I write..hey, it helps me focus!) Brendon Burchard has a great video on meditation as well.
Prayer: This is something that I do during focusing on my thoughts. It helps me connect with my creator and brings me closer to my purpose. Here is an excerpt from The World Community for Christian Meditation’s website on meditation:
“Sit down. Sit still with your back straight. Close your eyes lightly. Then interiorly, silently begin to recite a single word – a prayer word. We recommend the ancient Christian prayer-word “Maranatha”. Say it as four equal syllables. Breathe normally and give your full attention to the word as you say it, silently, gently, faithfully and above all – simply.”
Sit/lay still with your eyes closed. You can use this hyper-easy method just about anywhere! Go someplace quiet and get as comfortable as possible. You could go in your car on your lunch break or you could go to a room that is empty in your office. The idea is to go somewhere you can have peace and quiet for at least 5 minutes.
5. Make a list of your purpose.
Simon Sinek wrote a fantastic book called “Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action”.
Starting with why means to find your purpose and to connect with it. The best way to do this is NOT to ask yourself what you are doing but rather why you are doing it. This can be extremely powerful in achieving and maintaining ultimate motivation.
As people we are never motivated to do something because we are told to. We are motivated to do something because we FEEL it. Have you ever said to yourself “I’m doing this because I have a gut feeling about it, it just feels right.”? That’s because we are all driven to do something by our feelings. We need to connect with those feelings to help keep us motivated.
So list out your purpose. Remind yourself of your whys. Don’t fool yourself by saying your purpose is money. Money is a side effect of achieving your greater purpose. We all need money, but that is NEVER the purpose or the why that helps maintain motivation.
Here are some examples:
I need to be successful
I need to make a better life for my family
I need to help my team achieve THEIR goals
I need to help my team love their work
I need to help my team grow into great leaders
These are just some simple yet powerful examples.
Notice how we used the word “need”? That is a powerful word. If we used the word “want” it lacks the power to complete it. Want is like a New Year’s Resolution, which over 85% of people fail at achieving by January 15th, it lacks the strength of commitment.
We always do the things we need first, and then if we have the time and energy we get to the things we want. So remember your purpose and make a strong list of your NEEDS so you have a good reason to be and stay motivated.
Let’s recap… The 5 tools you are going to commit to use for the next 30 days are:
1. Read or listen to people that motivate you.
2. Seek out peers in similar roles.
3. Read scripture, for people of faith.
4. Become centered with yourself and your thoughts.
5. Make a list of your purpose. (your “why”)
With these tools equipped and maybe a little stretching for that high kick (safety first), you can stay motivated even when your boss is a fun sucker.
Listening to music while you are meditating – not a good idea. … Anything you do with the thought that you are meditating is meditating. There are many ways to meditate. Personally, I find music to be distracting, but paying attention to sounds in your environment is part of insight meditation.
Types of meditation
Loving-kindness meditation. With the many types of meditation to try, there should be one to suit most individuals. …
Body scan or progressive relaxation. …
Mindfulness meditation. …
Breath awareness meditation. …

Transcendental Meditation.
Meditation is a habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. You can use it to increase awareness of yourself and your surroundings. Many people think of it as a way to reduce stress and develop concentration.
Basic meditation music simply provides a way for an individual to go deeper with their meditation by adding a new layer to their experience. … Unlike many other music forms, the binaural beats work with the brain to develop a frequency most associated with relaxation.
